Chapter 603: How to kill a deity
After seven days, Sayda and Douglas finally arrived at their destination.
It was a border town, serving the dual purpose as an outpost for the Judah Dynasty and a lair for the Paragons.
They were greeted by a woman wearing a red saree and emitting an aura that made one’s heart palpitate, irrespective of gender.
She was accompanied by a few men wearing nothing but undergarments and collars around their necks.
"Sister, it’s good to see you."
Sayda managed a smile as she replied. "You say that yet your eyes tell a different story. You’d best take your eyes off my prize."
"Oh come on, that’s just mean."
"Hmmph." Sayda snorted before dragging Douglas along, unwilling to engage in further discussions with the Daemon of Lust before her.
As the other ladies that had accompanied her on her journey to the town took care of the poor animals that had served as their transport, Sayda made her way to the center of the city with her ’sister’ following closely behind with a knowing smile on her lips.
They soon arrived at the center of attention in this border town, a large building with clay walls and a rounded roof also made of clay.
Entering inside felt like entering another world, one rife with the aura of yin causing Sayda to immediately grow respectful as she paused in her steps.
Within the building were several mirrors that seemed to be linked to a higher dimension with all turning dark and ethereal, after which a voice was heard.
"Sayda child, you are here."
"Apologies for wasting so much time," Sayda remarked.
The woman replied. "It doesn’t matter. Though time is not on our side, your success means that we are one step closer to completing our goal of freeing the Harbinger from her seal."
"I understand."
"Take him with you for now. By tomorrow, you and your sisters shall carry out the ritual. Do not fail."
"I won’t."
"Good. Now leave."
"If it pleases you, mother, I would like to ask if you are alright."
Silence followed before a response came.
What do you think?
The voice was discordant, leaving Sayda slightly disoriented despite being a Daemon.
Knowing that staying further would be to her detriment, Sayda took Douglas away allowing the mirrors to return to normal.

The rest of the days spent aboard the Skyrunner were mostly peaceful, with nothing out of the ordinary happening, which was a welcome relief for Alex, considering everything that had happened so far.
Of course, there was the time they nearly had a run-in with a barbarian tribe but Alex had been quick enough to hide their presence to ensure that they passed without troubles.
Now, only a day remained before they arrived at the Boundary.
Alex sat in his room, seemingly pondering something only for a knock at the door to snap him from his thoughts.
He raised his head to find that the culprit was Ana.
"Is everything alright?" He asked as he sat up with Ana replying.
"I should be asking you that, you’ve been in your room since we escaped the barbarians."
Letting out a sigh, Alex replied. "I’m fine. Just thinking about some issues."
"Like?"
Alex considered telling her off politely but after some thought, decided to respond. "How to kill a divine being for instance."
"Why would you..." Ana trailed off as she recalled a certain matter. "The Daemon that killed Arthur and kidnapped Douglas?"
"Indeed. I haven’t forgotten even though I can’t do anything right now." Alex replied with Ana nodding in understanding.
She moved from the door to sit down beside him after which she remarked. "Well, to kill a god, another god is needed, or at least, something possessing divinity."
"I recall. I’m thinking about creating a GodKiller, not just for that matter but for whatever situation that might arise concerning deities. I mean, it’s quite strange that we are running into more of them lately."
"Well, I guess you have a point but how do we go about creating a GodKiller?... I mean, just the materials alone..."
"Have you forgotten?... I still have the yin and Yang aspect of True Fear."
"That... could work. But then, what about the crafting process?... No human blacksmith, no matter how powerful, can craft such a thing. If I recall, Vessina had offered to help craft it back then."
"I was thinking of reaching out to her."
Rising to her feet, Ana remarked. "I’ll check if we have materials in storage to facilitate a summons while you figure out how you are going to convince her."
"Deal."
And so, Ana left while Alex rose to his feet to fetch a quill, a bottle of ink, and paper.
It was necessary to craft a plan in preparation for Vessina’s arrival.

"Is it okay for us to be here?" Ulysses asked with a worried look on his face, his gaze focused on the pentagram drawn in Alex’s room, courtesy of Ana, who had gotten Humphrey’s aid to transmute a few items on board into what would be needed for the summoning.
The pentagram was drawn with chalk and a candle was placed at each point with the bull demon drawn at the center of the star.
Though not as intricate as what Nadia or Arwen could conjure up, Ana could tell that it would be sufficient especially since the Devil they were aiming for was an old acquaintance.
I would have to agree with the Organic boy. Summoning a Devil as a man is a frightening affair. I once came across a man who was devoured for daring to summon a Devil in search of riches.
Alex chuckled. "Don’t worry, we’ll be fine."
Just then, Ana began to chant in dragontongue while pouring blood from a cut on her palm on the pentagram edges, her head spinning as she touched upon the forces that be to reach out to Vessina.
As the aether moved according to her Will, connecting her to places unseen, the candle flames went off, and the blood she spilled quickly congregated at the center of the ritual circle.
