Chapter 490: Nothing is hidden under the sky
Alex couldn’t quite understand what he was doing standing in a freaking snowstorm.
He’d planned to appear in Albus’s house to have a quick chat with the old scholar about Emily’s condition.
Perhaps, the old professor might have an idea, after all, a problem shared is a problem half solved.
Unfortunately, he found himself stuck in a snowstorm that stretched on for as far as his eyes could see.
He considered the chances of having gotten the coordinates wrong but that was impossible, so he considered other options.
"Something is wrong." He muttered.
Frowning deeply, he decided to investigate.
Taking steady steps forward, he trudged through the snow while tracing the mark he left on Albus.

He couldn’t believe his eyes as he stood where he did, watching the entire city of Aragon fall prey to whatever madness had overtaken the populace.
The Beastmen lay slackened on the ground, the whites of their eyes in full display while their tongues lolled from their mouths with spittle sliding down their cheeks.
They resembled invalids, one and all, but that was hardly the strangest part as at the center was a crazed Alejandro.
He watched this mighty Rey jump about like he had a few screws loose.
"Haha, haha, it’s raining monsters, it’s raining monsters!" The Rey exclaimed at the top of his lungs while in his birthday suit.
Alex frowned. Perhaps more than a few screws.
"Alejandro!" He called out.
He did manage to draw attention but not the kind he would have wanted.
"O great hero, you have come to save us all, save us from the monsters, they are coming, they are truly coming!" Alejandro exclaimed in a maddened display as he began to roll on the floor.
It was a sight unbecoming of a king but if Alex was aware of one thing it was that the Beast Wheel was terribly outmatched against the Abyss.
Their mental Link served as a boon in most cases but against the Abyss, it was the worst thing that one could have.
To think that he had come here intending to seek Alejandro’s help in curing Emily only to be met with another problem.
This was an ally and having his ally prance around naked left a bad taste in Alex’s mouth.
"You owe me." He muttered while snapping.
The next moment, a starry night sky unfurled, obscuring the crimson sky above.

"What do you mean the Abyss is planning something?" Lucille had her brows furrowed as she stared at Alex.
"Exactly as I said. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed anything. The aether is changing." Alex replied.
Lucille clicked her tongue. "We know something is wrong. We have had four Incursions, all of whom seem to be First Class Otherworldly."
Alex frowned. "Four Incursions?"
"Indeed."
"Like the Great Calamity?"
"More. The Great Calamity only had one partial entry, we have four, and one of them has already fully entered our world."
Alex was just about to ask further questions when Lucille beat him to it.
"Now explain your words."
"Damn it, my sister is pregnant."
Lucille raised a brow. "Congratulations?"
"With a ghost baby," Alex added, leaving Lucille even more confused.
"I don’t quite follow your words, Dark Lord."
Clicking his tongue, Alex gave a short explanation of the overall situation, starting from the nameless nun to Emily’s current state.
Lucile’s expression couldn’t have been more shaken at the end of the ungodly tale.
"This doesn’t make any sense. Abyss Wheel Mystics are not so plentiful in the Empire that so many would rear their heads so casually."
"So many?" Alex raised a brow.
Lucille nodded. "The master and I had to face off against an Abyss Wheel Mystic as well not too long ago."
"Hmm."
"If what you’ve told me is true, then the Abyss is planning something with your sister, something that we cannot let happen."
Alex nodded. "I agree, so where is Aiden?"
"Gone, he called for a meeting of the Family Heads. He wishes to declare war on the Abyss before the situation gets out of hand."
"Damn it."
"But fret not, I may still be of help."
Alex raised a brow. "You?"
"Do not underestimate me, Dark Lord."
"That is hardly the case. Aren’t you going to keep watching here?"
"There are Enforcers to hold the fort while I am away. Your matter holds precedence given the current state of affairs."
"Alright then, I could use the help."
"If the Devil doesn’t agree to steal the Baby, we could take your sister and flee to BlackWatch, force the enemy to come to us."
Alex seriously pondered the suggestion but yet again, compassion won over reason and so, he replied with certainty. "The ritual will succeed."
"I hope for your sake, Dark Lord. For you would definitely be a specimen to Amase. I fear she might not wish to let you go scot-free."
"I have plans to circumvent that problem."
Lucille nodded. "In that case, give me a moment, let me inform the others of my exit."
As she turned to leave, Alex inquired. "You said an Otherworldly has already entered our dimension. Where is it?"
He seemed to already be contemplating the implications of driving an Otherworldly back to the Abyss.
Perhaps it might help him complete the Trials faster.
Lucille’s expression fell as she took a moment to consider before ultimately pointing upwards.
Alex frowned. "Where is that?"
"The sky." She growled causing Alex’s heart to stop.
Lucille seemed to have understood something as well as she turned wide-eyed in an instant.
"Where is your hideout, Dark Lord?" She inquired after a second, hoping for an answer different from what she had in mind.
Alex trembled but caught himself, clenching a fist as he remarked coldly. "It doesn’t matter. Nothing is hidden under the sky."
Perhaps, almost like whatever was above had heard them, the sky seemed to move in that instant, after which, red rain began to fall.
It felt like it was mocking him, like it was daring him to try and avert what was to come.
Alex glared at the sky in a fit of rage and cursed. "Fuck you."
