Chapter 203: Heroes Humbled, Lounge Rumbled
Neuro and Skybrand walked into the AA-rank lounge.
The room went quiet, eyes turning to watch them.
Both looked tired, with scratches and bruises on their arms and faces.
Skybrand’s wings were folded, small tears visible in the edges.
Some heroes stepped closer, their eyes wide.
"Skybrand, are you okay?"
Skybrand took a breath, her face steady.
"I’m okay, just a bit hurt."
Neuro’s gaze moved across the room, his visor flickering.
He took a step forward.
"Everyone, gather around. I need to share something important."
He crossed his arms and stood tall, his tone serious.
"It’s a bit unexpected, but we need to rethink the way we see the Heavenly Demon Sect."
The heroes looked at each other, uneasy.
Neuro continued, his voice calm but sharp.
"They’re way stronger than I thought. They’re not just a gang of villains."
Skybrand wiped sweat from her forehead, her hand trembling slightly.
"They’re not just strong," she added.
"They’re organized. Every move we made, they had a counter ready."
Neuro turned his head, his visor glowing softly.
"We’re like this because of them."
Skybrand’s eyes narrowed. Her hands tightened into fists.
"They’re no joke. Don’t underestimate them."
Neuro stepped forward, his visor glowing faintly.
He approached the robot at the mission desk, its screen lighting up as he got closer.
"Add the Heavenly Demon Sect to the top villain watchlist."
"They need to be monitored and destroyed as soon as possible."
The robot processed the request, and its screen flashed.
"Request acknowledged. Updating the villain database."
Neuro’s eyes stayed focused.
"And also," he continued.
"We have new information. Velvet Demon is not the highest authority in that sect."
Gasps echoed around the room.
One hero stepped closer, his eyes wide. "Then who is?"
Neuro turned, his face calm but sharp.
"There’s someone behind her. The one they call the Heavenly Demon."
Skybrand nodded, her wings shifting slightly.
"He’s the real power. Stronger than Velvet Demon."
"He’s the one we need to watch out for."
A hero near the wall folded his arms, his voice tight.
"Then we need a plan. We can’t let them run around unchecked."
Neuro looked at the robot, his visor blinking.
"Prepare all the files. I want every record on them."
"Every fight. Every tactic. We’ll find their weakness."
The robot beeped.
"Files will be prepared. Estimated time: 3 minutes."
Skybrand’s eyes flashed.
"We’ll get them next time. I won’t let them beat me again."
Neuro’s mouth tightened, his gaze sharp.
"This is just the beginning. We’ll take them down. One by one."
Around them, the AA-rank heroes nodded, their eyes hard.
The room felt heavy, but ready.
The battle lines were drawn. And this time, they’d be prepared.
---
Blazren walked into the mission hall, his boots echoing on the stone floor.
The place felt tense, the air thick with worry.
He paused near the robot, its screen glowing with data.
His eyes narrowed.
The Heavenly Demon Sect had moved up in the villain rankings.
He crossed his arms, his flame-red hair glinting in the light.
"What happened?"
The robot’s screen blinked.
"Update: Neuro and Skybrand were defeated by the Heavenly Demon Sect."
"Additionally, new information confirmed the true leader of the sect."
Blazren leaned in, his ember-orange eyes studying the screen.
He scrolled through the report, his hand moving fast.
"Neuro and Skybrand defeated?"
He laughed, his voice low and dry.
"That arrogant Neuro finally got a taste of real power."
He stood back, his grin fading.
"But the Heavenly Demon Sect... They’re stronger than I thought."
His hand flexed, scars on his arm catching the light.
"Fortunately, they’re only hunting down those bad heroes."
He looked around, watching other heroes pass by, some glancing at him, others busy with their own tasks.
"But they’re still villains. No matter who they hunt."
He turned back to the robot.
"They need to be stopped. Good or not, they’re dangerous."
The robot’s screen flickered, showing images of the Heavenly Demon Sect in action.
Blazren studied each one, his eyes sharp.
"Neuro underestimated them. So did Skybrand."
He cracked his knuckles, his ember-orange eyes hardening.
He turned to the robot.
"Mark the Heavenly Demon Sect as an AA-rank threat."
"Tell every hero at A rank and below to avoid them."
The robot’s screen glowed.
"Threat level updated. Orders given."
Blazren nodded, his mind ticking through the new problem.
Then the door opened.
Zain stepped in, his hands in his pockets.
"Hello, old man. What are you doing?"
Blazren let out a short, dry laugh.
"Just reading the newest review on the Heavenly Demon Sect."
"Neuro and Skybrand got their asses handed to them."
Zain smirked.
"Really? Tell me how it went."
Blazren cracked a grin.
"First, they got trapped."
"Then Velvet Demon hit them so fast they didn’t even know where the pain came from."
"Skybrand tried to blink away, but even her speed couldn’t save her."
"Neuro? He underestimated their power and paid the price."
Zain laughed.
"I see. The arrogant heroes got what they deserved."
Blazren’s smile faded, his eyes serious.
"But listen. I need to tell you something important."
"You need to be careful, Heavenly Demon."
Zain tilted his head, his grin fading.
"Why?"
Blazren crossed his arms, his combat suit’s crimson lines glowing faintly.
"Because there’s also news that the Heavenly Demon Sect’s true leader isn’t Velvet Demon."
"It’s Heavenly Demon himself."
Zain’s brows shot up.
"What?"
Blazren’s eyes narrowed.
"It was said that he hates you for using his name. And he’s going to hunt you down."
Zain’s mouth opened.
"What the fuck?"
Blazren shook his head.
"This isn’t a joke. He’s powerful—maybe even stronger than you."
Zain’s jaw tightened, his eyes sharp.
"That’s annoying."
Blazren turned back to the screen, his voice low.
"It’s your problem now. Figure out how you’re going to deal with him."
Zain’s smirk returned, cold and confident.
"Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it."
Blazren cracked his neck, his eyes hard.
"You’d better. I don’t want to clean up your mess."
Zain turned, his steps slow but sure.
"Old man, I always clean up my own mess."
Blazren watched him go, his face unreadable.
"Just don’t make it bigger," he muttered.
