Chapter 119: Lin Feng vs Mo Chen (2)

There were a couple of things going through Lin Feng’s mind when he saw the numerous burning cloud spears rapidly coming toward his position.

First, he quickly realized that this was probably the most powerful attack he had ever encountered in his life of cultivation.

Even though the spears weren’t that powerful individually, when combined like this, he doubted that even a cultivator at the 9th level of Qi Condensation could ignore them—let alone him, who was only at the 6th level!

Second was the fact that taking so many of these spears head-on would most likely cause him to get injured again.

Considering that he had just been healed by the "Heavenly Dao" and Old Man Chen, he thought it was not a very good idea to get wounded once more.

Can I even do this?

A sudden feeling of hesitation built up in Feng’s heart, despite the courage he had always shown in previous fights.

Yet, a voice came roaring back from deep within him, reminding him of that day when he was kicked out of Raincloud Village for being a Broken Soul.

He remembered the looks of pity and disdain.

He remembered how much hard work he had put in to reach this far.

And finally, he remembered the words he had told himself after encountering one genius after another, when his spirits had dampened slightly.

It will be me! My name will ring through the ages! I will become someone no one dares to offend!

With this voice roaring inside him, all hesitation vanished, replaced by a murderous intent fueled by his determination to no longer be the person constantly trampled by others.

BOOM!

Even though it seemed like a long moment had passed, in truth, only a few seconds had gone by since Lin Feng had decided to push through.

As the first of the burning cloud spears finally reached him, bringing with it a wave of heat and powerful spiritual energy pressure, Lin Feng, without hesitation, tilted his head slightly to the right, barely dodging the spear as it seared his cheek.

Instantly, he raised his left hand and punched, shattering the burning spear coming from the other side of his body.

But obviously, this was far from enough.

Right after those two spears reached him, another ten spears instantly surrounded him, leaving no clear way to dodge.

So Lin Feng made his decision.

Push through!

He gathered spiritual energy in his body as darksilver spiritual energy suddenly rampaged through him, not only enhancing his physical body but also strengthening the suppressive force constantly emanating from his cultivation base.

WHOOSH!

Lin Feng dashed forward, dodging as many of the burning cloud spears as he could while letting the others hit him head-on.

Some struck his shoulders, some seared his chest, others hit his legs, making them sting, while a few charred parts of his hair.

And yet, none of this mattered to him.

He trusted that his strengthened physical body would keep him alive somehow, and so, like a madman, he pushed forward through the relentless barrage of spears.

"What the hell are you?! Are you even human?!"

Mo Chen, seeing Lin Feng charging straight at him despite the overwhelming number of burning cloud spears, began to panic.

The fear he had tried his best to suppress once again bubbled to the surface, slowing his reaction speed.

So I can take it...

Lin Feng grinned as he rushed through the burning cloud spears—smashing some with his fists, kicking others into embers, dodging most with his instincts, and taking a few head-on.

Yet despite all of this, he steadily closed the distance between himself and Mo Chen.

Only ten meters remained between them, and it was clear that Mo Chen didn’t like the idea of Lin Feng inching closer.

With a furious roar, he shouted,

"You damn monster! You think this is all I’ve got?!"

Realizing that his attack hadn’t produced the results he expected, Mo Chen raised both hands, dragging the remaining spears that hadn’t yet reached Lin Feng back toward himself.

His aura grew even more powerful as he bellowed,

"Red Cloud Art: Burning Cloud Storm!"

BOOM!

A massive wave of heat and pressure once again engulfed Lin Feng as he watched Mo Chen turn incorporeal—his body seemingly transforming into a cloud of flames.

But instead of keeping his distance, Mo Chen chose to close the gap, rushing straight toward him.

WHOOSH!

Surrounded by a massive conglomeration of burning clouds, Mo Chen flew through the air at terrifying speed, clearly intending to end this fight in a single move.

Works for me!

Lin Feng’s eyes shone as he opened his mouth and unleashed a Ruler’s Howl.

AWOOO!!!

A massive soundwave rippled through the entire area, its deafening echo reaching even the people scattered and hiding within the city.

Startled, they instinctively covered their ears, turning toward the distance to locate the source of the piercing howl.

"What the hell is that sound?!"

"Is there another fight happening in the city? What is even going on?!"

But Lin Feng didn’t care about any of that. His Ruler’s Howl had clearly worked.

Mo Chen, who had been flying straight toward him, suddenly froze mid-air.

His body, which had been incorporeal just moments ago, solidified, revealing his physical form once more.

So I was right!

Even though elemental-type cultivators might seem invincible, the truth was that if you could destabilize their cultivation base, you could force them back into their physical body—

Which meant you could hit them like anyone else!

Realizing this was a golden opportunity, Lin Feng rushed forward at full speed, raising his hand before throwing a sledgehammer-like punch straight at Mo Chen’s face.

BOOM!

Lin Feng’s fist connected, shattering Mo Chen’s bones and sending him hurtling toward the ground, which cracked apart on impact.

Mo Chen reeled from the blow, his mind spinning in disbelief.

It was the first time anyone had ever landed a punch on his face since he awakened his Heaven’s Pact.

What the hell?! Did I just get punched in the face?! Mo Chen raged, the searing pain momentarily breaking his focus.

The reason for Mo Chen’s confusion was simple—while destabilizing an elemental-type cultivator’s foundation could make them vulnerable to physical attacks, this wasn’t the usual method of fighting them.

Normally, pure spiritual attacks instead of physical attacks were far more effective, this is because they bypassed the incorporeal nature of elemental cultivators and dealt direct damage.

This was why tool-type cultivators were so deadly against them and why beast-type cultivators, who relied primarily on their physical bodies, struggled to fight them effectively.

However, there were ways for beast-type cultivators to fight against elemental-type cultivators.

They simply had to overwhelm them with their attacks, forcing them to waste their spiritual energy.

This was because, even though elemental-type cultivators seemed immensely powerful, they consumed a massive amount of spiritual energy every time they turned incorporeal.

This was the reason why most of them actually preferred to use their physical bodies instead of shifting forms.
