Chapter 118: Lin Feng vs Mo Chen (1)
Lin Feng’s fist barreled toward Shen Wu with unstoppable force, as if the weight of a mountain was contained in a single punch.
The air distorted around his clenched hand as darksilver spiritual energy coiled around his forearm like hungry serpents.
Shen Wu, overwhelmed by the aura of dominance emanating from Lin Feng’s Alpha Wolf’s Domain, felt his cultivation base circulation slow to a crawl as his meridians constricted painfully and his pupils dilated in fear as he saw the cold murderous intent in those gray eyes.
However, this wasn’t the only problem Shen Wu faced as once again, a mechanical voice rang through Lin Feng’s head.
[Shen Wu has been afflicted with the spirit suppression mark. He will experience fear when fighting the host, significantly reducing his battle prowess.]
So he did get marked by the spirit suppression mark
Feng thought as the murderous intent that he had been trying to suppress was already spinning out of control, coloring his vision with a crimson haze.
His rage over Yan Hao and Yan Li’s kidnapping was now compounded by the fact that twice he had been sandwiched between the attacks of these two cultivators.
I’ll kill you right now!!
BOOM
Lin Feng’s eyes blazed with murderous intent as his punch finally made contact with Shen Wu’s chest tearing straight through him like dried twigs as a massive hole opened up in his body, blood pouring out and splashing into the ground in a crimson rain.
Shen Wu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
His mouth opened as if to scream, but only a trickle of blood emerged from the corner of his lips.
His spiritual energy flickered erratically before dissipating entirely.
A hurricane of darksilver spiritual energy surrounded Lin Feng, swirling violently and carrying with it flecks of blood.
The aura of his alpha wolf’s domain grew more substantial, it was as if there was a massive blackwood alpha wolf, that was standing right behind him, head raised in a howl of triumph.
He’s dead.
Lin Feng quickly pulled his fist from Shen Wu’s chest and attempted to back away as he sensed a powerful wave of heat approaching from behind.
Mo Chen, who had managed to negate most of the damage from Lin Feng’s previous attack, was once again trying to ambush him while he was occupied.
"Red Cloud Art: Burning Cloud!"
Mo Chen shouted in rage as he witnessed another companion die before him as crimson energy flared around his hands, coalescing into dense clouds that pulsed with intense heat.
He was beginning to realize that their opponent was far more powerful than he had anticipated – this wasn’t some ordinary cultivator they could easily dispatch, but a dangerous adversary who had just effortlessly killed another cultivator at the 7th level of Qi Condensation.
BOOM
Fortunately, Lin Feng had predicted this would happen.
The moment he killed Shen Wu, he had immediately retreated in a blur of movement, his instincts warning him of the impending attack as the clouds of burning fire exploded against the ground, releasing a shockwave of heat that rippled outward and sent debris flying in all directions.
Two down, two more.
Lin Feng turned his attention to Mo Chen, whose body was no longer fully human.
Parts of him resembled burning clouds that radiated intense heat.
If not for Lin Feng’s physical body being much stronger than typical cultivators at his level, any single attack from Mo Chen would have caused severe injuries.
Is that what it’s like to be an elemental class cultivator?
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes as numerous thoughts raced through his mind.
He recalled the empty feeling when his punch had passed through his enemy’s body as if it weren’t physical.
It’s like there wasn’t even a body to hit.
Just as Lin Feng was staring right at Mo Chen, Mo Chen was also doing the same, but it wasn’t like Lin Feng’s cool and collected analysis of the situation.
Instead, the combination of Lin Feng’s killing of two cultivators at the 7th level of Qi Condensation with a single punch and the powerful aura of dominance that naturally emanated from him filled Mo Chen’s thoughts with fear and dread.
This was despite the fact that because Lin Feng couldn’t actually hit his body, he had no way to leave a spirit suppression mark on him.
"You bastard, I don’t know why you’re so damn strong, but this will be your limit." Mo Chen pushed aside the fear he was feeling towards Lin Feng as he grinned maliciously.
His eyes glinted with a mixture of rage and desperation as veins bulged at his temples.
He raised his right hand, gathering a significant amount of spiritual energy that transformed into burning red clouds.
The clouds swirled violently, crackling with energy before descending to cover his entire body in a crimson shroud that pulsated with power.
The temperature around Mo Chen rose dramatically, causing the very air to shimmer and distort.
Small plants nearby withered instantly, as the snow beneath his feet began melt and even evaporate.
His outline became hazy, fluctuating between solid form and elemental cloud as he channeled more and more of his cultivation base into this technique.
"Let’s see how you handle this," Mo Chen said as he pointed directly at Lin Feng, his voice echoing with an unnatural resonance as if spoken through layers of fire.
Numerous burning clouds in the shape of spears suddenly appeared all around Mo Chen, hovering in the air like predators waiting to strike.
At first there were only 5, each one as long as a man is tall and burning with an intensity that could melt stone.
Then it turned into ten, the additional spears materializing from the excess spiritual energy radiating from Mo Chen’s body.
They continued rapidly accumulating in number, the sky darkening as they multiplied, until they reached a total of 50 spears arranged in concentric rings around their creator.
Each spear hummed with malevolent energy, their tips glowing white-hot as they pointed toward Lin Feng.
The combined heat from the array was so intense that it created a rising current of air, lifting dust and debris in spiraling columns around the battlefield.
"Red Cloud Art: Burning Cloud Spears!"
WHOOSH
With Mo Chen’s command, the formation of spears transformed into streaks of crimson light.
The large number of burning spears rushed straight towards Lin Feng’s giving off a powerful wave of heat and pressure that caused the very air to distort.
Even though a single spear most likely wouldn’t be enough to give Lin Feng too much trouble, if he got hit with so many of these things he would probably be heavily injured despite the power of his physical body.
Yet Lin Feng still chose the option that he felt was most suited for the kind of person that he was
I just need to push through.
