"You seem to be in a bad mood," Bambi said, lifting his head to meet Ryu Sungbin’s eyes. "Is it because of what that thing did to Matthew’s body after the soul that kept it alive had finally left?"

Ryu Sungbin didn’t say anything, but his face darkened.

Bambi didn’t say anything else because he didn’t want Ryu Sungbin to snap right there and then.

He couldn’t guide the Esper when he had just recovered his body.

Yuno flinched when he heard Moon Noa call him by his old name. "Sajangnim, I understand that you don’t seem to have your memories that happened after we met at the Lab. So, please allow me to introduce myself."

He went on a kneeling position.

"I’ve already discarded my old name," Yuno said politely. "I’m Noh Yuno now, and I’ll appreciate it if you call me by my new name."

Moon Noa turned to him with an indifferent look on his face. "Alright, Yuno-ya."

"Thank you, Sajangnim."

"Why are you calling me like that?"

"Ah. I’m working part-time at the convenience store that you own, sir."

"I have a convenience store now?"

Moon Noa’s confusion was valid.

Sajangnim only built the convenience store for me.

"Are you secretly my long-lost son or something?"

"I already have Gayoon Hyung’s wealth, so please save your wealth for your future child or someone worthy to be your successor, sir."

"There’s a lot to unpack from that statement. By ’Gayoon Hyung,’ do you mean Ki Gayoon?"

"Yes, sir. He’s my boyfriend."

"I see," Moon Noa said, nodding. "Now I understand why you’re not interested in my wealth. But you said ’boyfriend’ and not ’husband.’ So, how sure are you that you have any part in Ki Gayoon’s wealth?"

"He gives me everything I want."

Again, Moon Noa chuckled.

This time, his soft laugh sounded a bit lively.

"You’re making me miss my own lover."

"Huh?"

"Ryu Sungbin," Moon Noa said, his face lighting up instantly. "How is Ryu Sungbin."

Oh, dear.

Moon Noa’s smile instantly vanished when he saw Yuno’s reaction. "Spill it."

Yuno averted his gaze from Moon Noa, feeling guilty already.

"What happened to Ryu Sungbin."

"..."

"Kid, if you don’t open your mouth, I’ll make you."

That threat is scary, for real.

"Sajangnim, don’t snap, okay?" Yuno said when he glanced at Moon Noa nervously. "You and Ryu Sungbin had already broken up a long time ago."

"Why did we break up?"

"I don’t know, sir. But Ryu Sungbin is already dating someone else."

"Who?"

Aigoo.

It was just one word, but Moon Noa said it in a voice so cold that it made the temperature in the room drop instantly.

"I’m sure you don’t know him, but Ryu Sungbin is dating a Guide named Bambi—"

"That pink monster?" Moon Noa asked in disbelief, getting up abruptly. "Why is Ryu Sungbin dating a monster raised by the Lab?"

Excuse me?

"There’s a lot to unpack there, sir," Yuno said, confused and very much alarmed by the implications of Moon Noa’s words. "Bambi-ssi is a monster? And he was even raised by the same Lab that tortured me?"

It was natural for him to be surprised.

After all, there were so many things that didn’t match.

Like how come Bambi didn’t know about E-Class Guides the first time we met?!
