Chapter 99: Mysterious third party attacks
With purposeful strides, the group of elders departed the city and headed directly towards the Thousand Mountain Forest, shrouded in an ominous and oppressively heavy aura.
They halted just at the edge of the Thousand Mountain Forest range. Without a word, they erupted with a mighty aura that caused the air nearby to tremble, shaking the nearby beasts.
The commotion alerted a group of formidable beasts and the mighty Beast Generals who controlled the forest.
"Humans. It seems they have arrived."
"Hmm. Let’s go and greet them."
In the dark caves, many voices echoed before they vanished, moving towards the group of human elders.
In a matter of seconds, one powerful and ferocious aura after another began to appear and emerge from the Thousand Mountain Forest. Their auras started to collide with the mighty humans’ auras, creating countless gusts of strong wind and shockwaves.
"Humans, why have you come here? No one is allowed to enter the Thousand Mountain Forest," one of the beast generals, who resembled a minotaur with horns and the body of a bull, said as he looked at the group of humans that had suddenly appeared.
"We didn’t come here with the intention of fighting. We just wanted to talk and understand what the ruler of the Thousand Mountain Forest desires," the leader and elder Solaris of the human negotiators said calmly.
"What our king wants has nothing to do with you humans. Go back, and don’t think of stepping into the Thousand Mountain Forest while we are here."
The Beast General, with his domineering and ferocious aura, commanded the humans to leave.
He didn’t seem to care about them or respect them. Instead, he displayed the ferocious and dominant nature of the beasts, where everything is settled by strength.
Elder Solaris’s face remained unchanged, as he had expected this kind of behaviour from the beast generals. It was widely known how they behaved, and he knew that the only way to possibly talk with them was by demonstrating some strength.
"It looks like I’ve shown something good. You guys, back off," Elder Solaris said with a smile, gesturing for the others to clear the area. The beast generals understood and also backed off, creating ample space for the impending battle.
"Haha, you want to fight? Then let’s fight! I want to see what you can do. Moo!" The minotaur beast general laughed uproariously, unleashing a fierce and frightening aura that seemed to contain unimaginable power.
Meanwhile, Elder Solaris transformed into a ball of flames that entirely enveloped him. The intense heat raised the temperature dramatically, causing water and moisture in the air to evaporate rapidly. Even the other elders and beast generals felt their throats parched and thirsty in the presence of such scorching heat.
"Demon Bull Fist!"
"Scorching Flame Cannon!"
Both sides unleashed powerful and destructive attacks that surpassed the limits of most fourth-rank Limit Breakers or Beast Generals, showcasing their extraordinary strength.
Boom!
A powerful explosion erupted as their attacks collided, creating countless gusts of wind and shockwaves, along with a smoke cloud that could be felt and seen from miles away.
Both of them remained standing in the same place, seemingly at a stalemate after their clash, but the minotaur Beast General was not content with this result. He launched another attack.
"If you want to go again, I’ll naturally follow. Let’s see who is the first to stop." Elder Solaris laughed confidently, showing he wasn’t one to be pushed around.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
They unleashed their strength once more, exchanging devastating attacks without holding back, each determined to overpower the other.
They didn’t stop, and the fight became more intense as they continued to clash, neither having any thoughts of stopping early.
One explosion after another occurred, ravaging the plants, trees, and land nearby. Their attacks seemed to have surpassed the level of fourth-rank Limit Breakers or Beast Generals, even touching the Sage Rank or Beast King level.
Both humans and beasts were shocked to witness the extraordinary strength displayed by the two combatants.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The shockwaves they produced started to make the space tremble, as their attacks were powerful enough to affect the very fabric of their surroundings. However, the fight was still at a stalemate.
To decide the outcome, it seemed they would have to use their trump cards, which neither of them wanted to reveal.
Both of them stopped at the same time, looking at each other intently. Finally, Elder Solaris spoke.
"Fighting like this won’t do us any good. We didn’t come here to battle; we just want some answers."
He halted the battle and addressed their concern, wanting to know what the Lord of the Thousand Mountain Range desired.
The minotaur-looking Beast General also stopped and listened to Solaris. He, too, didn’t want a large-scale conflict with the humans. Not much time had passed since a beast tide was launched, and the time hadn’t come for large-scale wars.
However, as a representative, he couldn’t back down and needed to show his strength. He had already received orders from the central palace of the Thousand Mountain Forest to search every inch of the outer region, and if they didn’t find the young white tiger lord, then they could only return.
The young master of the Divine White Tiger Clan was said to be different, born with ancestral wisdom and able to talk directly from birth. He was considered the most mysterious among the divine beasts born in the last thousand years. If he had left the Thousand Mountain Forest, it would be impossible to find him unless he wanted to be found.
As for him being in trouble, that thought didn’t cross their minds. It was said that he had countless mysterious ways to save his life; even the Beast Kings could do nothing against the mysterious young white tiger lord.
So, they were ultimately just going to search the entire outer region for a few days, and for the unfortunate human hunters who died like hell they cared for, it was just some weak trash that they got to come here.
"We will not attack humans or human cities. Our Lord has no intention of declaring war, so you can leave. We have some work to do," the minotaur Beast General answered Elder Solaris and signalled for them to leave the Thousand Mountain Forest.
"But how long will all of you remain here?" Elder Solaris asked again, his concern evident as they couldn’t sleep peacefully knowing so many powerful beasts were stationed there and could attack at any time.
"Hmm! What do we have to tell humans about what we are doing in our territory? Don’t be cocky, humans. Now scram, otherwise I don’t know what I will do with you."
With anger, the minotaur Beast General threatened them to leave, frustrated by their persistent questions that he didn’t wish to answer.
But just as Elder Solaris wanted to say something, all the beast generals present there burst with powerful, ferocious auras, as if to warn that any further words might lead to battle.
Seeing this, Elder Solaris could only stop and sigh. At least it seemed they weren’t going to initiate a war or launch a beast tide, even if they remained there for some time. They could only monitor the Thousand Mountain Forest from afar, preparing to defend against any potential attacks.
He quickly led the group of human elders who had come with him out of the forest.
Unnoticed by either human elders or beast generals, a figure with their face covered in a robe stood in the sky, observing them.
"Interesting. My luck is good. Such a beautiful chance has come on its own."
After muttering to themselves, the figure disappeared. A few minutes later, they appeared in a secret hideout near Hunter City, where four individuals awaited them.
These four were known to have some relation to Apollo, as they were the leaders of the four gangs in Hunter City.
"You guys look like I didn’t have to wait that long. A perfect opportunity has arrived, and the current situation can be used perfectly."
The group of elders returned and recounted everything that had transpired to the city lord, the Hunter City branch president, and other high-status figures present.
There was a collective sigh of relief upon learning that the monster beasts were not intending to go to war. However, when they heard that the beast generals would remain there for a few days, their expressions shifted slightly.
In the end, it was decided to deploy a group of scouts to closely monitor the actions of the beast generals in case they were to suddenly leave the Thousand Mountain Forest.
So three days passed with the beast generals and their subordinates searching every inch of the area, but they found no clues related to the young white tiger lord. They began to wonder if he had not come to this place at all, despite being mentioned by the Great Lord himself. They searched meticulously for these three days but found no leads.
In the end, they were ready to leave and return to the inner region, but suddenly, a gloomy, dark, and ominous aura descended upon the beast generals, immobilizing them completely.
"Where are you all going? The fun has only just started."
"Haha, hahaha!" An eerie laughter echoed, sending chills down their spines and changing their expressions to horror.
