Chapter 82: Running Away
Chapter 82: Running Away
Everyone in the city was horrified to see how easily these two old men shattered the meteorite in a single swing like it was some small stone.
"See, kid, stop throwing peebles and come with something better." One of the twins said it with an evil grin on his face.
The white-haired young Demi-God wasn’t annoyed but smiled. "Haha, then let’s see how long you oldies can survive."
With that, their battle became more intense as it seemed to shake the northern wilderness.
At that time, in the underground tunnels, Vlad was looking at Ragnar, who was still standing, as he was covered in a silvery glow with numerous fine cracks on it.
"Haha, you survived as expected; you had some means, but it’s still a dead end."
He was happy to see him survive, as now he can not only get the Dark King Crown but can torture this guy to calm his anger.
Ragnar had a grave expression as this attack forced him to use the amulet. He had already used it twice previously when he ran from city hall, but now he uses it again.
Slowly, the barrier that protected him cracked and shattered, with the amulet being destroyed.
He looked at Vlad with a troubled expression, as this guy was very strong, even stronger than the average fourth-rank grandmaster. The difference in their strength was huge, as he could not take on him.
The only thing he can do to survive seems to be to run away, but with him focusing on him, he cannot do that.
But even then, he will not run, as the battle hasn’t ended, because he knows Mr. Aragon won’t die this easily. As a disciple of that senior, how can he not have the means to save himself?
"As he pondered this, a sudden movement caught their attention, accompanied by a low grumble.
"Damn those rubbles."
Boom!
With a sudden burst, numerous rocks and rubble exploded outward, sending debris flying. From amidst it emerged Old Man Aragon, unscathed by the previous destruction.
But it was just the beginning as one another and two more such powerful auras burst from the debris, and slowly, two more figures came out.
"Damm, I almost died."
"Thanks for the life-saving treasure; otherwise, I wouldn’t have survived."
The two figures were none other than Master Aaron and Apollo, who survived the destruction.
Apollo couldn’t help but feel fortunate, despite the attack not targeting him directly. Surviving would prove challenging, and even if he managed to endure, he’d likely sustain severe injuries.
Thankfully, Old Man Aragon had given him a ring before they left the store. This ring had the remarkable ability to create a force field, offering protection to its wearer during sneak attacks. This proved to be a lifesaver for Apollo, as the force field nullified most of the damage aimed at him, ultimately saving his life.
Seeing this bright smile appear on Ragnar’s face, Vlad only had gloom written on his face.
"Thanks to you, we were spared the trouble of dealing with your subordinates, yet you’ve graciously taken care of that for us," Master Aaron remarked with a chuckle, taunting Vlad, who stood alone as his subordinates seemed to be the only ones that died.
Vlad could only remain silent, as the truth was in front of him, and he couldn’t say anything.
He couldn’t help but want to cry and feel that his luck was worst; otherwise, how could Ragnar be lucky to meet with such tricky guys?
But now his situation is more dangerous as it has become one against four, and he cannot use the pseudo domain as he is almost out of energy.
With only his final law-grade scroll remaining, he hesitated, uncertain whether it held enough power to contend with the group. He grappled with the unknown, unable to gauge the full extent of their hidden means.
"You guys should now leave; others from Dark Heaven Court will arrive in a few moments."
In the end, he chose to save his life first, as taking on four of them was too much in his current situation.
"Oh! Look like you are afraid."
Master Aaron didn’t stop his taunting, but Vlad maintained his cool and didn’t lose his mind in anger.
"Tcch." There was a weird silence in the place, as nobody was making any moves.
Master Aaron sensed his taunts falling flat, but suddenly, his attention shifted as a powerful arrow, swift in its trajectory, hurtled towards Vlad.
"What!"
Vlad was taken aback by the sudden attack but managed to barely dodge it, feeling the rush of air as it whisked past his face.
Bang!
All eyes turned to Apollo, who stood calmly, holding his soul-shattering bow. With a composed expression, he spoke, "Since we lack time, why waste it on words? Isn’t it time to take action?"
"Haha, indeed, your apprentice is right. Aaron, enough talk; let’s move," remarked Old Man Aragon.
"Alright, my apprentice is correct. Let’s bring this battle to an end," agreed Master Aaron.
With those words, Master Aaron and Old Man Aragon wasted no time and lunged towards Vlad without further ado.
Master Aaron, with lightning and thunder, was the first to swing his sword, and Vlad, while cursing, barely dodged it, but from behind came a giant hammer that he couldn’t evade.
As Vlad activated his armour, a radiant golden barrier materialised, shielding him from harm. Yet, even with this formidable defence, the sheer force of the hammer proved terrifying.
Crack! Crack! Bang!
The powerful force sent him flying, but the assault was far from over. Apollo and Ragnar swiftly joined the assault. Apollo unleashed a barrage of ice arrows, while Ragnar unleashed countless wind blades aimed at Vlad.
"Damm, you all!"
He couldn’t face them all at once and felt the difficulty.
Bang! Boom! Bang! Boom!
After enduring a relentless barrage of attacks from the four, Vlad was left in a dire state. His once neatly arranged hair was now dishevelled, his clothes torn and tattered, and his body adorned with numerous wounds and injuries.
He resembled a beggar who had suffered a severe beating, a stark contrast to his former prideful demeanour, which often looked down upon others.
Now that he was afraid he might die here, he had to leave. He made up his mind and took out the scroll.
"Die! Die!"
"Not again; how many scrolls did he have?"
"Hide!"
Boom!
All of them moved and tried to protect them from explosions, but when the explosion happened, they noticed the difference.
"Weak!"
Although significantly weaker than the previous onslaught, the area was still enveloped in a thick cloud of smoke and swirling dust.
"No, he wanted to run away."
Immediately, they understood what he wanted to do, but it was already late as Vlad had run with all his might.
"This shame I will remember; I will give it back ten thousand times."
Only the words were echoed as he left the place with anger and shame.
Slowly, the dust settled, and everything returned to normal.
"Let him run."
"Come on, Aaron, it’s alright; we already cornered him, and who knows what he would have done if we pushed him to the dead end?"
Old Man Aragon said a few words to calm down Aaron, as he was getting too worked up.
"Okay, then there’s nothing left to do; let’s leave now, "Man Argon said.
"Yes, let’s leave, but I really wanted to kill the slut bit*h with my own hands."
Ragnar came to them and said his thoughts, as he still had a lot of hatred for bit*h Niara, who used him. But she was killed by her man’s attack.
Hearing this, Apollo’s eyes glowed as he seemed to remember something and look at the large debris.
"Maybe you still have a chance."
Apollo said that as he started to look around, he seemed to have found something within the large rubble.
"Hah!"
Ragnar and the others struggled to grasp his intentions as he scanned the rubble-strewn surroundings.
"Found it."
"What found it?"
Seeing Apollo clearing a few rubbles, they came close to him, but what they saw surprised them.
"Niara!" Ragnar immediately identified the body, but he felt confused about what it had to do with him; she was already dead.
"Kid, are you interested in corpses?"
Old Man Aragon could not help but feel weird looking at things, thinking they were the same kind of people.
"No, I mean your revenge, brother Ragnar."
"Mine!"
All of them felt confused, but Apollo smiled mysteriously.
"Are you sure she is dead?"
"Ah!" They found themselves unable to decipher his thoughts, yet they swiftly and meticulously examined the body with their spirit, detecting no trace of life.
"Hehe, Brother Ragnar, you seemed to underestimate the tenacity of Bit*hes; they are like cockroaches who wouldn’t easily die."
With that said, he suddenly attacked Niara’s body with ice spears.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The necklace around her neck emitted a radiant glow, conjuring a thin barrier that enveloped her protectively. As she opened her eyes, brimming with fury and hatred, her gaze locked on Apollo.
"See, plot armour!"
Apollo smiled.
