Chapter 215: Final Step

Chapter 215: Final Step

The battlefield fell silent as the blood sun was erased from existence, leaving nothing behind but fragments of ice lingering in the air. Apollo stood at the centre, his sword lowered, the brilliance of his eternal aura slowly fading as the space around him began to mend.

Kassandra and Eon looked on, their expressions grave but filled with awe.

Eon finally exhaled, his hands trembling slightly, though he quickly composed himself. "Dimension Cut... What kind of monster are you, Apollo? Why have I never heard of him in the previous timeline?"

Outside the battlefield, the crowd erupted into chaos. Elders and high-ranking figures stared at the scene in stunned disbelief. The unrivalled might of the Fourteenth Sword—Dimension Cut—was etched into their minds, leaving them questioning whether Apollo had truly transcended the limits of mortal comprehension.

Outside, Drakin appeared in a withered state, and his crimson eyes, full of madness, returned to calm. However, he was still in shock as he seemed to remember Apollo’s sword strike, which seemed to have almost annihilated him even with the protection of the heavenly path.

Thankfully, he was also wearing the treasure of their clan, the ’Divide Blood Armour’, which protected him at the last moment and gave him the chance to be teleported out; otherwise, this might be the end.

The elders of Drakin’s clan, though relieved by his survival, exchanged concerned glances. They could feel the overwhelming trauma lingering in Drakin’s spirit. He might have survived, but Apollo’s attack had scarred more than just his body. His path to advancement had been significantly hindered, and the setback was undeniable.

Apollo looked at the space rift that was slowly closing, not feeling proud. He could see that he failed to kill the Drakin. At the last moment, some treasure stopped his attack, and he survived.

He was hoping to kill him because of the disgusting feeling he gets from his power, but now it seems impossible.

Besides Eon, who also noticed this and felt bad, the demon still survived, even though he knew that he could not be killed easily with the support of his family.

Still this time, a major variable has taken place. Drakin didn’t win and actually was hit hard, so his progress should be slowed down, which gives him a better chance to change the impending future.

Kassandra was also a bit shocked as she thought he was a bit different, as his physique didn’t lose to her but didn’t expect that the body wasn’t his strongest means and his true strength to be this terrifying.

The chaotic murmur of the crowd beyond the arena grew louder, and the elders from various clans gathered, whispering among themselves about the shocking display they had witnessed.

That shocking sword clearly reached half-god level, and it wasn’t weak at the early stage half-god level. They couldn’t believe someone this young could use such a magnificent sword.

After calming down, Kassandra and Eon both became alert and wanted to see what Apollo was going to do—would he attack them with thunder or not? But after a moment, he didn’t attack, which let them calm a bit.

Now that only three of them left Apollo didn’t feel the need to fight; instead, it was better to climb higher, as he wanted to see what was on the top of the heavenly path.

Apollo stood calmly, his eyes fixed on the summit far above. The other two could see the faint gleam of determination in his expression.

With a slight movement, Apollo began to ascend again, leaving Kassandra and Eon to follow if they wanted to. There was no need to engage them—now.

Kassandra took a deep breath, relaxing her grip. "He’s not an enemy for now. We’d better move too if we don’t want to fall behind."

Eon gave a wry smile, though his eyes remained sharp. "It’s not a matter of wanting to keep up. It’s a question of whether we can."

As Apollo climbed higher, the aura of the Heavenly Path grew more oppressive. The space between platforms shimmered with ancient power, testing the limits of every step. But Apollo moved steadily as if nothing could hinder him.

Kassandra and Eon exchanged one last glance, then followed, as they also wanted to climb high and see what level they could reach.

The crowd outside watched in stunned silence as the three figures ascended. As of now, the ten clan assembly have fully changed, and only Kassandra from the Titania clan remains with two dark horses from the weak clan, making this session the most unique assembly in ten thousand years.

This sudden shift in the status quo was almost unimaginable. For millennia, the assembly had been dominated by the top ten clans, each sending their most elite members to prove their strength. Yet here they were: Kassandra, a lone warrior of the great Titania Clan, and two unexpected challengers from humble origins—both defying the odds, climbing higher than anyone had predicted.

"Two dark horses," an elder muttered, his gaze sharp and contemplative. "I never thought I’d see such an upheaval in my lifetime."

The murmurs spread like wildfire among the elders and spectators. Questions arose: Could Apollo or Eon threaten the dominance of the great clans? Had the balance of power begun to shift? Many such thoughts appeared in everyone’s mind.

Especially Apollo, who knows from where he came and has shown such devastating strength that they find it difficult to accept that.

If before they hoped this golden generation could climb the top, then they are sure Apollo is going to make that true, and finally, after thousands of years, someone who is below the half-god realm will climb the top of the Heavenly Path of God.

After Apollo crossed and entered the 91st platform, the pressure of all three forces exploded and increased many times.

But it was nothing he couldn’t handle, and without slowing down, Apollo continued forward. However, the moment Kassandra and Eon stepped further, they both began to feel overwhelmed.

Behind him, Kassandra and Eon felt the full brunt of the platform’s trial. Kassandra’s muscles tensed, her Titania bloodline straining to maintain her pace. Though her body was powerful enough to withstand direct blows from the strongest enemies, the unrelenting mental burden gnawed at her. Every step felt heavier, everyone thought more clouded as if the path was slowly wearing down her resolve.

Eon, in contrast, possessed unparalleled mental clarity and soul resilience—traits that allowed him to remain calm in even the most chaotic situations. But his physical body, not tempered to the same degree, struggled under the crushing weight. His breath came in ragged bursts, and each movement felt like dragging chains through the molten iron.

The Heavenly Path was merciless, a crucible that tested the complete harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Where Kassandra and Eon were exceptional in their respective strengths, they now found their flaws exposed like cracks in glass.

Apollo, however, moved with a sense of ease that bordered on terrifying. His foundation was flawless—his spirit, mind, and body harmonized to perfection, leaving no weak points for the path to exploit. Each step was deliberate yet fluid, as though the path itself acknowledged him as someone destined to tread upon its sacred stones.

Kassandra gritted her teeth, refusing to stop. Eon, sensing the same disparity, clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. A rare sense of frustration gripped him. No amount of preparation had prepared him for someone like Apollo. And yet, despite the odds, he was determined to go as far as he could.

The crowd outside watched in stunned silence, sensing the shift. The elders of the top clans exchanged uneasy glances, realizing that something unprecedented was unfolding before their eyes.

"This one is not bound by limits," an elder muttered, his voice tinged with awe and fear.

"Could it be that Apollo... will really break through to the top?" Whispered another, his gaze locked on the screen that displayed the climbers.

Apollo continued and crossed the 93rd platform, his pace unwavering. The energy around him crackled with divine resonance, as though the path itself recognized his worth.

Kassandra staggered for a moment but pushed forward with sheer will. Eon followed though he knew in his heart that Apollo was no longer someone he could catch up to.

Step by step, Apollo climbed higher, his figure growing smaller on the distant horizon of the Heavenly Path. Yet to those watching, it felt as though they were witnessing the rise of a legend—the first mortal in millennia to ascend the Heavenly Path toward godhood.

He steadily left the two behind and reached the 99th step, but it wasn’t over as he needed to step forward last time to reach the summit or the unofficial 100th step.

Everyone’s eyes are glued to it, as when somebody reaches the top, they will experience different things depending on the person and will create different and unique phenomena that represent the person.

The sky above began to ripple as if sensing the significance of his ascent. Elders and spectators alike leaned forward, eyes wide, waiting for the final step—the one that would define him.

’One more step’, Apollo thought, gripping his fist. He raised his foot slowly, every muscle, every fiber of his existence focused on the step ahead.
