Chapter 88: Angelic Wave vs Hawk Fury (2)

Chris was thrown forcefully backward, his face burning from the flames. Meanwhile, Rich found himself fighting head-on with a swordsman.

Being a specialist in surprise attacks, he was at a brutal disadvantage in this fight.

Andrew, who was in the middle, was hit head-on by a fireball that pushed him fiercely backward after exploding, and those attacking the tank were also attacked at the same time.

Jenna was the only one who managed to dodge it in time, because Elliot was caught off guard by a fireball and also by the spearman he was fighting, who managed to regain control.

In addition, given his proximity to the Control Mage, the latter focused his full attention on him, managing to tie his legs to the ground with a large cube of ice.

"Regain control of the Hexagon!" shouted the Soul Mage from behind. "Focus your attacks on the left wing!" he shouted again, centralizing his attack on the area where Elliot was trapped in the Control Mage’s ice and where Chris tried to support Elliot.

Suddenly, Elliot became the center of the battle. A tank’s ability fell upon him before his opponent’s spear struck him several times, sending him flying backward.

But he wasn’t allowed to get too far away; the tank came up behind him and kicked him back to where he had been.

"Elliot!" Chris quickly jumped toward the spearman and attacked him firmly on his spear, managing to deflect it from where it was. Then Elliot’s body rolled onto him, taking the spearman’s body with it.

Even so, this was a grave mistake.

Both of them were suddenly caught off guard by the tank’s ability, and their rivals surrounded them.

"Shit." Elliot quickly made the decision to jump toward the tank, but before he could do so, he saw Jenna’s body materialize behind that man.

With a firm kick to the back of his neck, Jenna sent the tank crashing to the ground, stunning him to the point that his ability was deactivated.

Instantly, she used the momentum from her previous movement to lunge toward a fireball that was about to hit Elliot. Her sword split the fireball in two, preventing the attack from hitting him.

She then smiled.

With the tank’s ability deactivated and the tank out of commission, Jenna reached Elliot’s side and grabbed him by the waist. "You’re going to fly," she whispered, taking Elliot by surprise.

But he immediately understood what she wanted to do, so he allowed her to throw him into the air toward the Soul Mage.

He turned around immediately in midair and, upon reaching him, attacked him dozens of times in an instant. Due to his speed, he managed to pass through the mage, but the latter was close to the arena barriers, so Elliot was able to put his legs on the barrier and jump backward to knock him out with a kick to the back of the neck.

He fell to the ground, bleeding.

At the same time, Jenna and Chris managed to send the spearman Elliot had fought earlier flying through the air, and he fell beside him, unable to get back up.

Elliot took advantage of the moment to help Rich defeat the two swordsmen, while Andrew refocused his attention on the Control Mage.

Thanks to being kept busy, the Control Mage was unable to interfere with the individual battles taking place around him.

Seven successive hammer blows later, the Control Mage spat blood and fell to the ground next to his companions.

At the same time, the two swordsmen were unable to withstand Elliot’s onslaught and Rich’s deadly attacks and ended up surrendering before dying.

Just then, the TV above announced, "Angelic Wave won!"

A frenzy of joy erupted among the audience who had bet on his victory. Some people began shouting Andrew’s name, the only famous person among them.

Others couldn’t help but start talking about the new stars.

"Did you see that guy, the one they said was a misfit? Damn, that guy is incredible."

"Hahaha, I told you so. I was lucky enough to see him enter that Goblin Dungeon a while ago and watch him clear it twice. I always knew he was powerful."

"But the MVP..."

"Hahaha, undoubtedly... It’s that beautiful woman. How can anyone be so beautiful? I’ve never seen anyone like her in all of Loen."

"Could she be a foreigner?"

"It’s possible. Didn’t you see how she used her sword? That woman is incredible."

Among the casual spectators, many began to admire the three most dazzling players, although some noticed that Chris and Rich also played important roles.

But among the powerful...

There were only two people who stood out this time, maybe three. But one of them shone above all others.

In the coolest place in the arena, the room of The Cats guild.

"Hey."

"That woman..."

"Did you see her?"

"Is she a Master Swordswoman? So young?"

"I don’t know. She looked like one, but I think it could have been a trick, from what little we could see."

"Yes, but she defeated that spearman before the Soul Mage could finish casting his spell, and she didn’t use her Master Rank power to do it."

"A 16-year-old Master Rank who is also a Master Swordswoman? Wouldn’t that be impossible?"

Among the people talking was the leader of the Guild, known as "Big Cat" or "Master Cat."

He frowned.

"It’s possible. She won that fight all by herself."

"Hm? All by herself? I thought the boy Elliot had a good part in it, too."

Master Cat smiled.

"He had it initially and at the end, in that combined attack. But she did 90% of the fighting on her own. By taking out the left flank, when Hawk Fury managed to regroup and fight as they knew how, they were already down a man. That sealed their fate without them realizing it. But then, Chris made a huge mistake and they ended up with two of them trapped by a tank’s ability, while they had a lancer behind them, two swordsmen, and a Soul Mage."

"Under normal circumstances, that would have been the end of them. But that girl solved it easily with just two attacks. One to the tank and one to prevent the fireball from knocking out Elliot. But then came her most stellar moment... that combined attack to take out the Soul Mage, the strongest member of the team."

Master Cat smiled placidly. He always enjoyed watching these great geniuses fight, as they possessed an innate ability to create art during their battles.

And today he had the opportunity to see one of them. It didn’t matter what Elliot, Andrew, or the rest did.

No one was better than Jenna.

Elliot, who was in the arena, also noticed the same thing as Master Cat when the fight ended. He jumped over to Jenna and smiled at her.

"Great performance, Jenna. That even left me speechless. It looks like you’ll have a lot of fans from now on," he said, as he helped her up, since she had thrown herself down to rest.

She smiled at him and got up with his help.

"If it weren’t for the fact that you understand me so well, that would have been useless."

"Hahaha, you overestimate me. But I’ll take your compliment."
