Chapter 89: A landslide victory
When they were outside the Combat Arena, in the hallways, Professors Ren and Alan approached them to congratulate them.
"It seems we worried too much. Congratulations on your first victory," they said, greeting them and welcoming them with water.
"Despite the mistakes, you won without losing a man and were able to restrain yourselves enough to avoid killing anyone. That’s a good sign that you’re controlling your powers quite well," said Steward, coming up from behind.
"Jenna and Elliot, I offer my congratulations, especially to you, Jenna. Despite being the youngest, your performance was incredible. I would dare to say with certainty that you will be the MVP of the day," he said.
Jenna smiled with slight embarrassment. "Mr. Steward, I just did what I could. If the team weren’t so good, it wouldn’t have been worth anything, so it’s an honor for all of us."
"Haha. Well, those who don’t get carried away by victory are the ones who go the furthest in competitions." Steward then looked at the rest of the team.
"Good game. I hope you continue to show that guts to go all out. Although we need to refine our strategies, what I saw today was great."
Andrew remained silent after nodding, still analyzing the battle he had just fought, trying to understand how he could improve.
"Hahaha, thank you, Mr. Steward. Next time will be better, and I won’t let these guys outshine me." Rich exclaimed, cheerful as always, even though he was sore.
Meanwhile, Chris hung his head.
"Is something wrong?" Steward asked, causing Chris to sigh.
"I didn’t do anything this time. On the contrary, I almost got the whole team in trouble. I don’t feel like I deserve those congratulations." he said, acknowledging his mistake this time.
But Steward seemed to have other thoughts.
"In a team, when some shine, others have to stay in the background and let their teammates shine. If everyone shone at the same time, there would be no competition; they would be the utopian perfect team, which has never existed. Even in the World Championships, the winning team always has stars and weak sides. It’s normal," he said, walking over to pat him on the shoulder.
"Making mistakes is part of the improvement process, and it’s better to make mistakes now than when competing in an important System cup. Remember, growth comes after failure, and failure leads to success. But the only way that saying is true is if you don’t blame yourself and instead try to improve. Good game, I hope to see more like that in the future. Your time to shine will come."
Although he left Chris stunned with his words, Elliot, Jenna, and the others soon patted him on the shoulder as well, and they began walking behind Steward toward the main hall.
Chris was left alone with Rich, who smiled at him.
"It looks like the teams support each other," Chris said.
Rich laughed. "Hahaha. Winning this is important to you, isn’t it? And we still have to compete in the Leveled Leagues, so we need to work hard here to prove ourselves."
Chris nodded. "You’re right. Let’s go."
"Alright. Let’s go."

When everyone was gathered in the main hall, the battle between the Elemental Academy and Golden Eagle had already begun.
And they couldn’t see much.
"I knew it," Steward said, slightly annoyed.
"Aren’t they too superior? Perfect complementarity, flawless execution... Golden Eagle couldn’t even do anything before they were defeated." Ren frowned when he saw this.
Steward scoffed at this. "Those bastards have seven good seeds, so they obviously rigged it so they could all participate at once and show off to the world. Not only are they good, but they have an almost perfect team! Damn it."
"Sigh..." Alan sighed. "And we have to face them in the next round..." He said softly, which made everyone realize that.
The overwhelming battle they had just witnessed and the knowledge that tomorrow they would have to face that Academy made the room suddenly dark.
’This is going to be dangerous,’ Elliot thought, and looked at Jenna. She was the same.
Today, they won thanks to her overwhelming strength and good coordination between them. But that’s because the members of Hawk’s Fury weren’t too powerful.
At the Elemental Academy, not only did they work together perfectly, but they also had tremendous power.
’The main academy of the kingdom... Obviously they’re good.’ Elliot took a deep breath.
They had two Masters in their ranks, and the other five were close, perhaps between 40 and 55 points. Beating them would not only depend on strategy, but also on the individual strength of each member.
Perhaps Jenna, Elliot, Andrew, and Chris would have no problem facing them, but Rich, Philip, and Andy... they were far below, close to 40, but not quite there.
’With the summons, we could quickly change the course of the situation. There’s also the sword, but if I do that...’ Elliot looked at the room where the Clark family was.
’They’ll protect themselves and avoid a battle to the death.’ He frowned.
He hadn’t caused any trouble for John before, as he wanted him to remain arrogant until they faced each other in the tournament, knowing they would pass the tests and meet at some point.
’I have to kill him,’ he thought, and looked once more at the Elemental Academy. He considered several ways to defeat them and realized that it wasn’t impossible to do so without revealing his ability.
’The experience Jenna and I have fighting for our lives isn’t something just anyone has. If we coordinate well, we could win.’
When the expressions in the room darkened, Steward quickly realized that this was very bad, so he decided to speak up.
"All right. I think we can do it," he said, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Have you come up with a strategy, Mr. Steward? We were thinking about..."
"Yes. We’ll discuss it when we get back. Let’s watch the other fights. Remember that it’s not just the Elemental Academy we’re up against; there are others too. Don’t worry, we’ll do well in tomorrow’s fight."
Finally, the battles began.
Clark Group versus The Cats... The power displayed by the Clarks this time was quite impressive. Not only did they manage to win, but they did so with relative ease.
Later, Broken Leaf crushed the Ashle Family, ending the day’s battles.
