Chapter 59: Incredible... in every way

The door they had chosen closed shortly after they entered, and the little one floating there looked at them with a mischievous smile.

Just then, footsteps echoed through the long hallway. An ancient beast walked toward them from a distance.

"Damn, that bastard must be afraid to show himself," muttered the griffin, annoyed by the voice in his head.

He had wanted to tear him to pieces and had even challenged him several times, but he had not been heard. In the end, he had ventured down the paths he could travel, and that had brought him here.

When he arrived, his eyes immediately caught sight of a person.

’A human baby?’ he thought. His stomach growled audibly, and he finally remembered that he should be trying to find his human prey.

’But I’ll settle for this little gift from heaven.’ His mind was filled with countless ways to prepare this meal, and he couldn’t think about the consequences.

As soon as he arrived, he immediately jumped toward him, his enormous beak wide open and his stomach growling with hunger.

His body approached the boy, and in a few seconds, he was in front of him, his enormous beak reflected in the boy’s clear eyes. Quickly, he seemed to transform into food in the griffin’s mind, but suddenly his body stopped.

"Do you want to play with me?" asked the little child, appearing from the griffin’s blind spot and grabbing his neck.

’What the hell?’ The griffin tried to move with all his might, but he couldn’t even move an inch. His body was completely immobilized by the inherent fear reflected in the little boy’s aura.

"Do you want to play?" The child’s voice rang in his ears again, and a terrible force pushed down the griffin.

His body fell backward onto the floor, and several of his bones broke, causing him terrible pain.

"Oh." The boy seemed to feel sorry for the griffin’s pitiful state. "I didn’t think you were so weak. I’m sorry." His voice even grew smaller, as if he felt truly sorry for him.

"But don’t worry." He smiled again and pointed to the doors. "You can still play with me. Choose one of the doors and step into your own destiny. Hehe."

To the Griffin, that voice no longer sounded like a child’s. That supposed child had been buried deep in his thoughts. He was standing before some kind of great living being!

What rank was that bastard, to trounce him like that?

The griffin had no choice. His animal instincts told him that if he messed with that kid, he would end up as pulp in some unknown place he had traveled to out of curiosity.

So he just nodded gently and went through a random door... unaware of the dangers that awaited him.

"Are you seeing what I’m seeing, Elliot?"

"Yes, Jenna."

After passing through the door, they stood stunned, looking at a huge mountain of... riches in front of them.

Everything was arranged strangely, in disorder, from gold coins to great treasures like swords and armor.

There was so much that it filled this huge room, falling into the water that flowed through the middle of it like a river, and on the other side, there was even more.

At the bottom of the ’river’, you could even see numerous gold coins, swords, and shields.

The room was longer than it was wide, about 800 meters long, perhaps more. The width was about 100 meters, but it became narrower towards the end and eventually narrowed to only about 10 meters wide at the end, where a door now stood.

Something so large and filled with riches was a fantastic sight, to say the least.

In addition, it was beautifully decorated, following ancient teachings.

There were also some swords at their feet, but away from the rest of the riches, possibly the leftovers.

Elliot bent down to grab the one closest to him, which caused a window to open up for him.

[Incredibly Resistant Adamantium Sword]

| Attack Power: 100.

| Luck.

"Huh?" He was shocked after reading something so simple and with nothing else.

A sword made of one of the strongest metals in the world was as simple as it looked. Was something like this even possible?

He then looked at Jenna’s sword, and it wasn’t much different.

"This... is unfortunate," she complained, feeling that they had used such an expensive metal to make something so simple.

"Forget it. With so much wealth in front of us, complaining about this doesn’t seem right. It looks like our pockets will be very full." Elliot smiled, but he wasn’t stupid. He wouldn’t throw away a sword made of Adamantium that he could use, since it had unrestricted use.

This was an incredibly precious treasure outside.

So he put it in his inventory... or at least he tried to.

"Can’t I keep it?" Elliot looked at the sword that had returned to his hand and tried to put it away again, but he couldn’t.

"Me neither..."

"Tsk, so they’re going to put a huge amount of riches in front of us, but they won’t let us take it all? Shit." Elliot stayed put and took a few steps forward, holding the sword because he still didn’t want to throw it away.

No matter what happened, it was free to use! And it was made of Adamantium!

It could be worth so much money that it would make him rich overnight.

Jenna followed closely behind him with a similar thought in mind. She had been looking for a free-to-use sword for so long that she didn’t care if it had no attributes; it was still better than the one Elliot had before, thanks to its high Attack Power.

Elliot was the first to reach the enormous amounts of riches deposited everywhere. They looked real. That such a large amount of riches wasn’t fake made them both swallow hard, excited.

"Can you put them in the inventory?" Jenna asked behind Elliot, and he tried to do so, picking up one of the heavy gold coins.

Then he tried to put it away...

Suddenly, he saw the coin in his hand start to roll around as if it wanted to escape, which shocked him. He tried to squeeze it and put it back in the inventory, but the coin then seemed soft and strange.

In the blink of an eye, what had been a coin was now transformed into... something strange.

Part of an animal.

At the same time, all the coins and all the riches that had previously attracted him suddenly began to grow in size and change their appearance, becoming something else.

Giant tentacles shook from the room, and what had once been a pile of riches transformed into the tentacles and body of a giant red octopus with bright golden lines. Its tentacles appeared protected by powerful, resistant armor made from the armor that had once lain in the room.

Its intimidating appearance reminded them of the rumors about a great sea monster lurking in the waters between the Kingdom of Arce and the distant Kingdom of Lux, the Kraken.

Fortunately, it wasn’t as big as the rumors said.

Unfortunately... it was dozens of times bigger than them.
