Chapter 50: A powerful woman (2)
Because of that, Jenna neglected her fight, and the Orc took advantage of it. His sword flashed, and he attacked fiercely toward Jenna’s head, wanting to destroy her in a single strike.
This was such a fast attack, delivered from such close range, that the threat was felt across Jenna’s entire body. It forced her to twist her body to the side to dodge it quickly, but she wasn’t able to avoid it completely.
Her cheek was slightly grazed, and it ended up hitting her other shoulder, the impact between the bone and the sword sending her tumbling to the ground.
The orc followed closely behind, seeing that his attack had failed, and quickly attacked her with a vertical strike, but this was a mistake.
Jenna narrowly managed to dodge the attack, which she would not have been able to do if it had been a horizontal strike, given the position she had fallen into. This allowed her to strike back, hitting him on the bone of his left shoulder and sending him flying away from her.
Then she got up again and looked at her body. ’Minor injuries, nothing serious.’ Then she looked ahead.
Two powerful spells were heading towards her, both made of fire. She had discovered a pattern in these attacks.
Whenever two spells attacked her, they were identical—there had never been two different ones. That gave her clues, but she still couldn’t see it clearly; she needed to get closer again.
’I have to end this fight soon. I don’t know how Elliot is.’ Determined, she ran her left hand along her dark sword, and little by little, that hand filled with dark energy, just like her sword.
Then something surprising happened.
She began to run quickly toward the Orc Warrior, and he came toward her. In a moment, she attacked him four times with her sword as usual, keeping her distance until her fourth attack landed and slightly unbalanced him.
Instantly, she jumped toward him and passed by him, placing her left hand on his chest.
All the dark energy in her hand suddenly passed into the Orc’s body, and she was finally able to run past him and toward the other Orc.
The warrior suddenly felt heavy, and his body didn’t respond as quickly as he wanted. He tried to turn around to stop her, but he couldn’t. His face was filled with confusion.
Jenna’s power is... something she doesn’t know. It is categorized within a class whose official name is "Dark Sword Master."
It is a changing class, something she does not yet understand, but has four peculiarities.
The first is that it is not just any skill; it is Dark Magic. Her sword is created with Dark Magic and requires no attributes; it itself has its own attributes to exist.
The second peculiarity is that this Class gives her mastery of the enhanced sword and improves her understanding of everything related to swords, which helps her to improve very quickly on that path. In that sense, it is a power-type class that is very rarely seen among the awakened.
The third peculiarity is the ability to erode poison, which is characteristic of Dark Magic in this world. A Dark Magic Mage will never be poisoned because their magic erodes and destroys the poison. This is what she used to save Elliot.
Finally, the fourth peculiarity of the class/skill/magic is what we have just seen. Her Dark Magic has slowing effects, so she can play with it in combat to gain the upper hand. The problem is that it’s not very powerful and doesn’t last long, but it’s enough.
She approached the wizard in no time and finally saw what was happening. The orc was once again creating a lightning attack, which was very effective in knocking his opponent away upon impact. On the other hand, he had a strange item that seemed to be working, creating a second powerful lightning bolt.
’A broken mirror... I see. The mirror can copy what he’s creating. So that’s it.’ She smiled. If she knew what it was, there was no danger to her.
She moved as close as possible and at the last moment, when the two spells shot toward her, she lunged to the side, causing the magic to fly fiercely toward the orc behind her, who was trying to follow her.
Both Orcs stared at each other in shock. They had many questions, and they wanted to ask each other.
Why the hell are you attacking me?
What the hell are you doing behind that woman?
But the Orc wasn’t as quick as Jenna to dodge these attacks, and the wizard could no longer do anything. He didn’t have enough control over his magic to prevent them from colliding with his companion, so in seconds, the Orc Warrior was paralyzed again, and powerful lightning bolts quickly covered his body.
This attack hit him hard since his armor was perfect for conducting lightning.
Jenna came up from behind, and her dark sword seemed to glow as the Orc’s blood began to sprout from his body, which was split into four pieces with a single attack.
She then walked toward the Orc Warrior and, at the last moment, accelerated to her maximum speed, attacking him more than eight times in succession until she could finally break through his powerful defense and tear him to pieces.
"He’s very close to Rank C..." She finally realized this due to his high vitality.
As an Orc Warrior, his greatest strengths were his strength and vitality. This one was strong enough to withstand Jenna’s repeated attacks, two lightning spells from his companion, and many previous wounds, and still not die.
He was so hard to kill that she finally sighed, thinking, "Finally."
But she knew she had no time to waste, so she immediately turned around to look for Elliot.
"Elliot!" Her sword lit up again, but before she could take many steps, her feet stopped, and she looked ahead in shock.
