Chapter 91: Griffin’s Bizarre Encounter

Eight hours later, Kaiju opened his eyelids slowly. His eyes slowly regained clarity. Without even asking the Gacha System to show the current status of his mana points, he was already astonished. After all, just in eight hours straight of meditating with the Stone Of Tranquility, his mana points increased at the astonishing five mana points!

Kaiju could still recall how difficult to increase even a mana point by meditating the whole day. "He was meditating four hours ago," said Lucy. "We were chatting, so he was late."

"Since I’m hungry and others are about to finish their meditation, let us eat, then. I still have many extra foods I stored in my inventory."

"I have, too." Lucy excitedly jumped down from the branch and levitated forward towards him. However, she recalled the meat she stored on her inventory was not cooked well and some were saved to be cooked by Griffin and Kaiju, so it was still raw. Kaiju’s foods must have been cooked already, right?

Hence, she said with an abashed expression, "But it is still raw." She didn’t even want to mention the cooked meat.

Kaiju smiled. "Don’t worry. Mine is enough for us. Let’s save those for Teacher Griffin to be cooked later."

Lucy nodded with reddened cheeks. Once she arrived, she waved her hand and took out the dining table and chairs. Creating them with mana would take some time and since she can create common items anyway, she stored them in the inventory for practicality.

Kaiju quickly prepared for the feast, while Aqua, when he sniffed the smell of the cooked meat, didn’t hesitate to stop meditating and slithered forward.

Then, everyone had a joyous meal.

Meanwhile, while Lucy and Kaiju were enjoying a feast, Griffin was standing with straightened back and chin up high. His clothes were neat but were not clean. After all, some were splattered with blue blood just a minute ago.

He was grasping the head of the blue werewolf while staring at its headless body. His eyebrows furrowed, feeling the strangeness of the situation.

He uttered under his breath, "When I spotted this blue werewolf, I didn’t mind, not until he attacked me. But, there was no killing intent at all and seemed to just wanted to be killed by me." He was trying to make sense of the situation.

He stared at the headless body of the blue werewolf and threw it with a puzzle expression. "This is not right. What are they planning?"

The blue werewolf had been hiding and often changing his position from time to time. When he spotted Griffin, he suddenly attacked him, not even activating his bloodline awakening. It was the most bizarre situation Griffin had encountered.

After all, this was not the first time he encountered a blue werewolf, he even killed one before. That one, he activated his bloodline awakening and went all out. Griffin thought. Are they trying to incite a war between us and them? It doesn’t make sense. He shook his head.

Just in case, I must get rid of this. He took out a glowing, fiery orb from his inventory and threw it at the blue werewolf. The explosion rang out and due to the distance, he was covered, as well. When the smoke settled and dissipated, with some fires still continuing to spread through leaves and bushes, the figure of Griffin appearing unharmed emerged.

There was a tangible white barrier protecting him. With an indifferent expression, he spent his mana to spread the wind and extinguished the fire before it spread. He decided not to busy himself with it anymore and just thought that the blue werewolf must have felt despair in the Trial that it decided to end its life.

Which... is bullshit! Griffin snorted and turned around, going to the direction where he was about to meet Kaiju and others.

To distract himself, he recalled his pupil and smiled. How is he now? Did he break through to advanced mastery in daggers? Although I told him to reach out to me once he felt hitting the bottleneck, knowing Qwanisha, he did not need me anymore. I wonder if he has gotten stronger...

His eyes flashed an amused glint. Strong enough to defeat me.

Griffin was always hoping for Kaiju to defeat him, for him to be motivated to grow stronger. After all, that was how Griffin cultivated his skills–always comparing with others. If it was not for Lucy, he might have been lazing around for days.

And I wonder if that devil has finally shown her colors. Griffin was always adamant about his impression of Lucy.
