Chapter 84: Snow’s Bloodline Awakening

"Bloodline Awakening: ScorchBlood Lineage."

The violet flame coating Bune’s body erupted in a five meter radius, eroding every life present. The hellfire intensified and gradually expanded, even causing the barrier produced by Little Gorilla to be slowly melting.

Little Gorilla’s face turned ugly, his Radiant Skin effect from his bloodline awakening was supposedly limited to protecting his skin, but due to the light he absorbed by the Luminari earlier, he was able to expand it and protect Snow, Master, and the other serpents. However, since the Luminari died, the Radiant Skin was obviously turning normal. Apparently, his barrier would not last to protect Snow and the other serpents.

At the same time, his bloodline awakening effect was beginning to dwindle after going all out against the Luminari and thankfully his master was able to murder her just in time before the Third Eye deactivated. He turned to Snow and he did not even have to say something when Snow mumbled, "Bloodline Awakening: Frostbite Basilisk."

Little Gorilla heaved a sigh of relief. However, Snow suddenly rushed forward at Bune while shouting, "Don’t come near me in a five meter radius."

Little Gorilla was stunned and scrutinized Snow, to which he discerned the diffusing poison and frost from Snow’s body. He turned to the other serpents and said, "Attack in a distance. Also, detect the poison and frost Snow released. If possible, don’t follow the path she traversed. Disperse!"

The other serpents nodded and dispersed in all directions, trying to surround Bune. However, they did not even reach ten meters from him yet when they perceived their scales were burning hot. Hence, they halted and glanced at Snow, seemingly not being affected at all. They narrowed their vision and caught the frost being scattered from her body. They were also stunned to perceive that the poison Snow was diffusing froze the hellfire on the surroundings.

Ember mumbled, "So this is bloodline awakening." He shook his head in a depressing manner. "We are useless here."

"Not yet," Kaiju’s voice echoed behind their backs. They simultaneously turned their head behind and saw him taking out a single-handed shield to Little Gorilla and the latter had his aura altered. He grasped the staff with his right hand and the single-handed shield on his left hand. He glanced at Bune and jumped forward, running slowly at Bune.

Kaiju then glanced at the three serpents and instructed, "Follow him behind. He can tank the damage left by Snow and that violet infernal."

The other three serpents nodded solemnly and followed Little Gorilla, slowly taking his step. Thankfully, his strength was enough to carry the heavy armor and the single-handed shield that was meant for Max.

Kaiju was forced to give it to Little Gorilla. Although the single-handed shield was suitable for Little Gorilla, the latter rejected it, stating he wanted to be more offensive with his staff. Obviously, he did not want to go full tank and support, he wanted to be useful, at the very least, too. Kaiju saw through his intentions as he knew his pets well.

However, due to the current circumstances, when Kaiju perceived that the hellfire dispersed by the violet infernal was so hot to the point it even corroded the light diffused by Little Gorilla, as he was obviously not a mage and not even a full tank, even Little Gorilla was aware he needed the single-handed shield.

What only worried Kaiju about was the state of the artifact after the battle.

’Please, don’t destroy it.’ He could not even tell those words to Little Gorilla as survival was more important than an artifact.

Kaiju shook his head and observed the battlefield. Snow was battling the violet infernal alone, where the latter was manipulating his hellfire to bombard Snow with it. However, Snow was agile and was even able to alter the terrain as she slid through the earth while assaulting the violet infernal with her sharp icicles.

Kaiju scrutinized the sharp icicles and perceived they were more potent than before. Obviously, her bloodline awakening affected her magic attack. He spotted Little Gorilla growing closer and it seemed Snow had appeared often near Little Gorilla, especially when Snow felt exhausted. At the same time, Snow was able to tank some of the hellfire without problem thanks to her bloodline awakening, countering it.

Bune summoned a ball of fire and threw it at Little Gorilla. He then focused on attacking Snow with various projectiles while being stuck on the location. After all, Snow altered the terrain of his surroundings. Of course, it was slowly being burned by his hellfire, but it was slow.

He glanced at Snow and clucked his tongue in annoyance. Who would have thought there is another bloodline awakening possessor here? What is going on? Two beasts with bloodline awakening? They were just a tamed beast of that human at that?! What’s so special about that human? He couldn’t concentrate on the battle at all.

At the same time, the ball of fire finally landed on the single-handed shield, where Little Gorilla dropped it for better grip on his footing. The ball of fire suddenly exploded, and the single-handed shield swallowed the impact. Kaiju’s heart ached when he saw it. The single-handed shield effects activated.

The shield released a burst of stone shards, heading for the violet infernal. The violet infernal merely glanced at it and harrumphed. With a wave of his hand, a wall of hellfire manifested, turning into a wave to smolder the stone shards, and pushing Snow away.

Snow was exasperated and went forward again, becoming more and more desperate. Little Gorilla took the chance to grow closer, at least, for three meters at the violet infernal. Snow did not alter the terrain he took, following their training. They aimed to focus their enemy on Little Gorilla alone, after all.

The other three serpents desperately attacked the violet infernal, but it was distressingly useless. The wind by Zephyr turned fire and even attacked them. The water by Aqua was instantly evaporated. The fire by Ember... even though he just activated Hellfire Frenzy and attacked the violet infernal with molten eruption, the violet infernal welcomed those attacks like it was nothing.

They were Corrupted Rank beasts, same with Snow and the violet infernal, yet they were entirely useless. However, only Aqua and Zephyr were disheartened. Ember noticed something on Aqua’s attack, especially the powerful torrent of water and high-pressured jets and his eyes lit up.

He turned to them and said, "Aqua, try to blend your attack in an area where the frost is the thickest! Zephyr, amplify the frost with your wind!"
