Chapter 83: Tower’s Announcement

{Announcement! The Tower is about to announce the alterations in the Trial.}

The Tower’s voice reverberated in the Hellish Trial. Everyone was apprehensive, they paused whatever they were doing and focused on the Tower’s announcement.

{The Human races mission, "Obtain one of Vladislaus’ treasures and offer it to Werewolves, or Faeries, or Luminari, or Nephilim, or Angels, or Infernals, or Witches," had some changes. The Trial had determined the death of the remaining in Luminari, and thus, it will be erased on their mission.}

The Trial went quiet but chaos erupted among the other higher races.

In the werewolves hideout, a black werewolf howled, calling his pack, with the white werewolf standing behind him. From the public’s knowledge, white and black werewolves were naturally in conflict, but the only white and black werewolves on the Trial have developed some romantic feelings. The black werewolf became the alpha and the white was his romantic partner. Together, they ruled the werewolves packs inside the Hellish Trial.

The werewolves race was among the races, except humans, to possess billions of population in and out of the Tower. So, it was not surprising they were the highest participants inside the Trial, even though many werewolves perished from the hands of the other higher races, some died mysteriously.

A blue werewolf ran on all fours and was the first to arrive, and then kneeled in front of the black werewolf and kept lowering his head. The black werewolf merely cast a glance at him and then sat on a chair made by the skull of their enemies–varies from monsters and beasts. He said, "Who do you think killed it?"

The blue werewolf did not respond, for the black werewolf never once talked to them with a soft tone. The white werewolf replied, "Maybe, the Angel race?"

"I thought the same."

Silence ensued as they waited for five minutes and finally all the packs had gathered. In total, there were five blue werewolves, four brown werewolves, and three grey werewolves. The black werewolf swept his bloody-crimson eyes at them and asked, "Where is Flint?"

One of the grey werewolf responded, "His scent disappeared. He died."

The black werewolf closed his eyes and said, "It doesn’t matter. Bluff, replace Flint’s possession."

The blue werewolves were silent for a second before one of them replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."

In fact, the black werewolf never recalled their name at all and was just calling random names. The packs were aware of this and thus they already knew who he was referring to, or who wanted to be the name the black werewolf spouted.

The black werewolf’s bloody crimson eyes narrowed and said, "Keep an eye, especially that human who can control the beast. He can control us, as well. So, he must die."

"Understood," everyone replied. However, they retained their position.

"Who do you think killed the Luminari?"

The werewolves did not respond for a minute, and that was the answer the black werewolf needed.

"No matter, the less the competitor, the better."

"Balake."

It’s Blake. One of the blue werewolves corrected inwardly. "Your Majesty, I will be reporting..."

One by one, the blue werewolves reported their investigation on the other higher races and the black werewolf’s expression throughout did not change. The blue werewolves were tense until they heaved a sigh of relief when they were dismissed.

When every werewolves left and continued their job, the black werewolf stood up. He turned around and his expression softened when he met the gaze of the white werewolf. He caressed her hair and said, "After we complete the Trial, we will unite our race and rule the Tower."

The white werewolf smiled lovingly and replied, "Not only will we rule the Tower, we will conquer it."

In the heat of the moment, they kissed and the white werewolf managed to restrain the black werewolf from going further.

...

Blake, the blue werewolf, ran on all fours for minutes and suddenly halted. His expression turned ambiguous as he looked left and right suspiciously. He then closed his eyes and sniffed around. He mumbled, "There’s no one around this area."

He then stopped entirely and his appearance suddenly radiated a dim glow. It went from blue, violet, red, and green, until his body framework suddenly shrank and grew wings. The transformation went smoothly and she grew an ample amount of breasts while flapping her glamorous wings to keep floating. She opened her eyes and it revealed countless memories of Blake and other races she transformed.

Suddenly, it reflected the image of Bune, surprisingly even his memories when he was a child. It then played when she encountered Bune, observing the Overlord beast’s area in the eyes of Blake. Before she was about to transform, she altered her appearance to Blake first and then created a phantom of it.

The phantom, once fully formed, suddenly opened its eyes and acted like Blake, though his facial expression remained ambiguous. It then decided to stay and hide the dark area, especially in the bushes, while she transformed into Bune.

Bune smiled and turned into the direction where the memories revealed the location of the Infernals’ hideouts. He then walked in the opposite direction of the werewolves hideouts and acted like nothing happened.

Blake continued to hide, but often changed his place every now and then. His senses were sharp, able to avoid his presence by avoiding nearby creatures. Only the werewolves could catch his scent but even then, he made sure he would act like he did not want to communicate with them...

Higher races were filled with relief when their competitor went down by one race. Even then, their preparations for the war against Vladislaus and possibly the other higher races were still taking place.

They seemed to form a silent agreement not to incite any conflicts as the date for the humans to raid the burg was approaching. They were also even convincing humans to give the treasures to them, annoying even Griffin and others.

They could only assure everyone would receive it, they obviously could feel the pressure.

However, unknown to everyone, due to the place near Herforao being isolated and the place of the Hellish Trial was massive to begin with, a battle was raging...
