Chapter 67: What Is Her Name?

"The very question is how did she manage to enter the Hellish Trial if she is a player?" Kaiju scratched the back of his head.

Herforao shrugged. "I don’t know, she did not share anything about it, except she kept telling me she knew me, even my main body. It was her, who informed me my main body ascended to the Arcane Rank."

"Arcane Rank..." Kaiju was stunned. They are almost at the level of the High Ranker. To think the main body of Herforao attained that stage. Kaiju thought in disbelief.

"You did not expect it, right? Honestly, I am more surprised that my main body managed to survive against the war between the other higher races in raiding the burg, so much that the event became the Hellish Trial."

He asked, "Why do you think that is?"

"That woman is crazy. Well, anyway, just be prepared to fight her." Herforao’s eyes turned sharp, staring at Kaiju solemnly. "She wants to fight everyone on the Trial, she wants the rewards by herself alone."

"Fight might not be her main goal." Herforao paused and continued, "She wants to kill everyone inside the Trial."

Qwanisha, Max, Lucy, Griffin, and Faith–they appeared simultaneously in Kaiju’s head, and the scene appeared to be their death. Kaiju clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. He must prevent it from happening at all costs. However, how would he be able to do it if his enemy was far stronger than Herforao himself?

"Don’t think of telling other humans about this." Herforao shook his head and stood up. "The reason I’m telling you this, Kaiju, is I’m betting on you. In a week, it is not enough to improve and ascend through the ranks to fight her. There’s no way you can. But, I was not saying you confront her directly. Since you are already aware of this, the chances of you fighting against her and surviving is higher, just a single decimal higher." Herforao chuckled.

"I will die, that is certain. But my main body is there. You have cultivated a good affinity with us, beasts. So, telling you about this is just out of good will of mine. Nothing will change anyway, I will still follow her order." Herforao shrugged. "Compared to you, I hate that woman, I hate her for making me feel this way, to be extremely terrified by her, not by what she had done to me, but for unknown reason, as though the terror was embedded deep within my soul.

If I am not wrong, my main body should fear her as much as I do."

Kaiju was having a difficult time processing what he had just learned. He helplessly listened to Herforao’s rantings as he suddenly walked away and searched for Little Gorilla. Kaiju dazedly swept his eyes on his surroundings as well, finding Little Gorilla from afar, walking towards him while geckering an excited noise. Little Gorilla informed him he found a bunch of treasures, greatly aiding them–that is, if Herforao allowed them to own it.

"Get all the treasures I have. They are useless to me. I will give you, at most, three of my underlings, too. Choose the strongest and which you can tame. Don’t hold back. I hold no attachments to this world, I am already welcoming my death."

Kaiju nodded. He was still in a confused state. However, he asked what baffled him, "Why will you not go against her order?"

Herforao grinned, turned around, and replied, "I simply feared her. To the point this fear made me follow her orders without hesitation. There are many variables that will happen, Kaiju. For instance..." He paused, staring at Kaiju meaningfully, and continued, "She said she will kill my main body, not instantly but through constant torture, if I don’t follow her command. Although I doubted it would happen, there is a high chance it will. I can’t risk it. The least I can do is to ensure my main body’s survival."

Kaiju nodded. "I understand. But you misunderstood something, Herforao. You can overcome your fear but you have chosen to be submitted towards it because you are helpless. You are not doing it because you feared her, simply because you cared for your main body."

Herforao nodded. "I appreciate your comforting words, but it is useless, Kaiju. I have dreamt many times of killing her, fighting her, but all those dreams, thousands of parallel worlds, I could not survive. She is strong, Kaiju. Her veiled powers even escalate it."

Kaiju was stunned, feeling helpless as Herforao was. He pondered for a while, silence ensued for more than a minute, as he finally asked, "What is she? A fighter? A mage?"

"She..." Herforao smiled bitterly. "She is everything, Kaiju."

Kaiju suddenly recalled Lucy. The latter was a creation mage, basically could do anything, create out of everything, but he quickly shook his head, denying it without a second thought. Lucy was not a fighter, just a pure mage.

The woman might really be a different person altogether.

Wait, I forgot to ask the most important thing. Kaiju knocked his forehead irritatedly, feeling dumb all of a sudden.

"What is her name?"

Herforao was stunned and then exploded in a hoot of laughter. He stared at Kaiju for a while, ruminating, and then opened his mouth, with eyes ready to accept the consequence of what he was about to do.

"She told me to refer to her as Lucy."
