Chapter 65: Herforao

Kaiju arrived at the conspicuous gargantuan tree. Compared to before, there were no fruits now glistening with different colors. Instead, snakes with various scales design coiled the gargantuan tree, even the enormous trunk and colossal roots were not exempted. Kaiju spotted some aura exuding from the gargantuan tree, threatening him. There were five more stronger than the corrupted rank he was following–he confidently assumed they were at the same rank as him.

For some reason, Kaiju had a strange thought, causing his body to shiver in excitement. ’I can’t wait to fight against them. How about three versus five?’ He thought. He was lost in thoughts when he was startled to perceive an ominous aura exploded forth, awakening him.

"I can sense your thoughts, human," said the Overlord rank beast. "I can let you fight them later–of course, as a form of training. We will have a conversation first. Here, at the top of the tree."

Kaiju halted, tilted his head upward, almost breaking his neck. He just arrived at the colossal roots, not even near the trunk, and yet he had to gaze upward just to see the location the Overlord rank beast was talking about.

"I can barely see the crown. Do I need five days to reach there?"

The Overlord rank beast guffawed, shaking the gargantuan tree, causing some low rank snakes to fall. Kaiju glanced at them and was shaken to see some died. He mumbled, "Does he not care about their life at all?"

"Of course, I do. However, their corpse can grow the tree. Furthermore, throughout their lives, they will remain barely intelligent due to their lack of potential. They better die early and reincarnate to be stronger than their previous lives, no?"

Kaiju’s eyes widened, suddenly recalling his past life. He recalled he did not have a potential to become similar to the Tyrant of their school, and just like the snake, he was bound to fall and die. He accepted it. However, just like what the Overlord rank beast had said, he had also reincarnated, he became stronger than his previous life.

He smiled. "You are right. For them to live more is just a waste of resources."

"We are thinking the same thing!" The Overlord rank beast guffawed. "I like you more now, human!"

Kaiju’s eyebrows furrowed. He thought, ’That sounds...’

Kaiju only assumed this was the location the corrupted rank snake led them into, as the latter halted beside a strange white hairy what seemed to be a rope, staring at them with sparkling eyes.

He said, "Grab the tail of the master and he will lead you there."

"His tail?" Kaiju was taken aback. "This is his tail?"

The corrupted rank snake nodded hastily.

Kaiju stared at the white hairy tail in disbelief. Although the size was nothing compared to the gigantic branches, as he could grasp it with one hand, he still found it difficult to believe that it was the tail of the Overlord rank beast.

He tilted his head upward and gazed right through the branches of the gargantuan trees, and he could barely spot the sign of the crown even when he squinted his eyes.

’If what he was saying was true, then that means he is as big as this tree itself!’

Suddenly, the white hairy tail wiggled, and the Overlord rank beast’s voice echoed, "Come and grab my tail, so we can start our conversation now. Time is running out. I believe you only have less than a week to raid the burg."

"How did you know?" Kaiju asked in shock, as he instructed Little Gorilla and Snow to jump on his shoulders and grabbed the tail.

"That can only be the reason why you are here. Anyway, hang on tight, tell your pets that, too."

"Huh?" Kaiju was still in a daze, deeply shaken by the revelation that the Overlord rank beast was actually might aware of his motives for coming. However, he was not given enough time to think when the tail suddenly pulled him upward, instinctively holding into it tightly.

He hastily ordered Snow and Little Gorilla to embrace his head for better grip. He opened his eyes soon when he adapted from the speed and saw the various colossal branches and enormous leaves passing by. His view into the world began to expand too, feeling awed by the marvel sight. He conversed with Snow and Little Gorilla, asking them to open their eyes too, and they acted the same as him.

Soon, their view was covered by the crown of trees and their movements abruptly halted. Kaiju felt his stomach churning, urging him to vomit but he held himself back. After all, he perceived an ominous presence radiating behind his back.

His hair stood on ends, his heart raced, and gripping his fist tightly and grinding his teeth, he found the courage to slowly turn around. What he saw was something he would not forget.

Behind him was a spacious area, spacious enough to even build a village. However, it was all occupied by the body of a snake, even curling its massive body to create some space. Kaiju gulped. ’Even if he eats me, I doubt it can satiate even a bit of his hunger.’

"You are right." The Overlord rank beast guffawed, causing the place to shake once again.

Kaiju slowly tilted his head upward, finding the direction of the voice. All he saw in front was a dark purple body of a snake, after all, with some white hair on its scales. There, he saw a pair of purple gems glowing in the dark ceiling, hearing it hissing from time to time.

Kaiju even perceived the size of the purple gem, obviously the eyes of the Overlord rank beast, was his.

He did not know how to react.

"Don’t be scared, brat." The Overlord rank beast’s hissed. "I am Herforao, meaning a war monster. What is your name?"
