Gacha Player: My Luck is Multiplied 10x
Chapter 55: Light Resistance Skill

Chapter 55: Light Resistance Skill

"How did you raise your mana points?"

Hearing his question, Snow was filled with relish. She could finally be useful to her master when it comes to sharing information. She hastily replied, "Teacher Lucy taught me a meditation technique, Master. To increase the efficiency of meditation technique, she also provides me with a beast core of Corrupted Rank and above. She also gave me some potions that could increase, too."

"I see." Kaiju was stunned and nodded. Why did I not see the skill on her status, though? He thought.

{That’s because the Gacha System lacked information about meditation techniques. But now that I’m awakened, I can even provide you with a basic meditation technique. However, we have to determine which elements you have affinity with first. So, I can even provide you with a Rare or above grade technique. Of course, it will cost Luck Points.}

Gacha System’s voice at the end reminded Kaiju of his scammer classmate.

{All is fair, Kaiju. Everything has a price.}

’Stop reading my thoughts, alright?’ Kaiju complained. ’And just so you know, I’m not dumb. You are just helping me find it in the store.’

{Wow! You really are not.} The Gacha System giggled.

Kaiju smiled helplessly and shook his head. Thankfully, he did not spend his Luck Points yet. ’How will you be able to determine my elemental affinity?’

{Well, that will cost 109 Luck Points. But a discount for you, so it will be 100 Luck Points.}

Kaiju’s face turned ugly. ’It was a 100 Luck Points in the beginning, right? Stop playing with me.’

{Damn, you really are not dumb. Alright, I’ll stop playing with you.} The Gacha System grumbled.

{Cough!

You want to determine your elemental affinity. That will cost you 100 Luck Points. Do you want to spend 100 Luck Points to determine your elemental affinity?

Yes/No.}

’You already have my permission. Stop wasting my time.’

{You said yes. Deducting 100 Luck Points... 100 Luck Points have been deducted.

Your elemental affinity is now being determined...

Please be patient!}

Kaiju sighed. ’At least, her enthusiasm returned.’

{Your elemental affinity has been determined! Please check.

Ice Affinity: 80%

Poison Affinity: 80%

Curse Affinity: 80%

Shadow Affinity: 50%

Note: it has been detected that your affinity with ice, curse, and poison comes from your passive resistance. 80% means possessing a high level of resistance, suitable to manipulate and control the affinity to some extent, eventually obtaining affinity with it.

Congratulations!}

Kaiju was thrilled. Somehow, he also anticipated it. He was still glad to discover he has an affinity with the Shadow. It might have to do something with his artifact.

’So, can you create a basic meditation technique for me now?’

{Yes. I have your permission. But, don’t you have to copy Little Gorilla’s passive resistance to the Light element first?}

’What?’ Kaiju was shocked. ’Since when did he have one? I did not see it when I checked his current status before.’

{Ah, that was my mistake. It was difficult to determine Little Gorilla’s elemental affinity at first until I am assured it is Light element. If he could conjure a Light elemental skill, then he naturally possesses a resistance to it.

I’ve added it before though, you just did not check. You hastily checked his status when I barely scrutinized after seeing him. At that time, I did not want to admit my mistake.}

’Can’t you be more consistent.’

{Ascend through the ranks first and I will be.}

Kaiju grumbled. ’If I copy the Light Resistance skill, will I be bedridden again for almost a week?’

{Obviously. Do you know the phrase, "Everything comes with a price"?}

’I don’t.’ Kaiju shrugged. ’And enough talking, copy the Light Resistance skill. Qwanisha will understand it.’

[Understood! Copying the Light Resistance Skill (Rare) from your pet, Little Gorilla. You only have one skill to copy his skills.

I know you want to know about Light Resistance skill, so I will read it and at the same time visualize it for you.

Light Resistance (Rare Grade)

Description: A skill developed by enduring exposure to powerful light-based magic or radiant energy. This ability allows the user to resist and mitigate the harmful effects of light-element attacks, such as searing radiance, holy energy, or blinding flashes. Over time, the user begins to understand and adapt to the properties of light energy.

Special Effects:

Enhanced Light Tolerance: Reduces the potency of incoming light-element attacks by 50%. Provides resistance to weak light effects (e.g., minor blindness) and high resistance to intermediate light magic.

Glare Shield: Minimizes visual impairment from blinding effects like flashes or radiant bursts. Grants enhanced perception in bright environments.

Radiant Affinity: Improves understanding of light-based magic, allowing the user to analyze, absorb, or manipulate light energy under certain conditions.

Adaptive Resistance: Each exposure to a light-based attack further strengthens resistance to similar effects permanently.

Radiant Energy Conversion: Absorbs a portion of light-based damage and converts it into stamina or minor health restoration (restores 2% of maximum health per light attack absorbed).

Holy Defiance: Reduces the effectiveness of light-based debuffs, such as purification or holy suppression, by 25%.}

Kaiju trembled in excitement, knowing he would be able to obtain that effect. In fact, he could barely remember all the effects of his skill for their quantity all together. Although, compared to Pain Tolerance skill as it would be useful in almost many situations, Light Resistance Skill and other elemental passive skill would still serve as a perfect counter for their enemies, who possess affinity with it, in the future.

Kaiju was thrilled just by imagining it.

He instructed Snow to inform Qwanisha of what he had just done and Snow, as always, like a loyal soldier, nodded without hesitation and assured him. Meanwhile, Little Gorilla was excited for some reason when he heard him.

Finally, he understood when Little Gorilla could not hold himself and asked, ’Do you want to convert to our religion, Master?’

A/N: So, I just argued with other authors about resistance and affinity. I asked them if it is possible to obtain affinity if you obtain a resistance skill and they reject it. However, my idea is resistance comes from affinity: humans can’t handle harmful elements, i.e fire, even water if it turns into an offensive attack, so obviously, they have to resist it to some extent. Like Kaiju, when he obtained the resistance skill, he naturally obtained affinity with it. Of course, resistance and affinity are entirely different to one another, I admit my mistake, but I combine it because they are still connected in some ways or another. What do you think?
