Chapter 124: The Black Werewolf’s Condition

Chapter 124: The Black Werewolf’s Condition

The north continent of the Earth is ruled by an Ascendant. It was known, and as his place confirmed it, he possessed the bloodline of the vampire race. However, half-vampire was not welcomed in the noble ranks of the vampire race, so he could only follow any nobles he wanted to–it would make more sense to follow the noble who gave him his blood essence to receive the bloodline of the vampire race.

Ever since he attained the Ascendant rank, he already surpassed the certain noble vampire and now served the Vampire King, the same level as him. He was the only Ascendant who was under another Ascendant–obviously, possessing the same strength. It was humiliating for the human race, but, at that moment, they understood that they were in the lowest of the hierarchy–only bootlicking the other higher races to attain the higher ranks.

The two other Ascendants of the human race have mysterious backgrounds–it was not disclosed whose higher races they followed. The strongest High Ranker in the human race was the same as the half-vampire Ascendant, as he even created the religion of the Angel race.

It showed how divided the human races were, only following their desire to be stronger, even if it costs them their humanity.

The black werewolf was deeply aware of the human races’ shamelessness, or so he called it. Hence, the moment he finally connected the dots, and confirming the silence answer of Griffin, he bursted into laughter.

"Your powers are only borrowed, how shameless are you to be so arrogant?"

"Aren’t you the same?"

The black werewolf’s guffaws halted. His face turned ugly, staring at Griffin with narrowed eyes.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You were born with innate talent. You rely on your innate talent. Who told you to be so arrogant when your power is only borrowed, too? From your ancestors who worked their ass off, perhaps."

"Is that my fault we were born with innate talent?"

"Is it my father’s fault, too, that he is able to receive the bloodline of the vampire race and surpasses the owner of the blood essence he obtained? Even becoming as strong as the Vampire King?"

"..."

The black werewolf was lost for words.

This guy has a sharp tongue. The black werewolf knew that talking to him more would only cost his reasoning. However, he did not want to give up. He did not want to step back.

"So you are trying to justify the fact that your father leeched to the vampire race just to become stronger?"

"First, you don’t seem to know the meaning of leech. My father serves the Vampire race, directly to the Vampire King, as a form of returning the favor. Second, we, the human race, are strong, but not physically like you all higher races have, it is by our intellect and decision making. If we can become stronger as a cost of our humanity, why not? There is no doubt that we act in our individual’s interest."

"You!" The black werewolf trembled. "Are you that shameless to abandon your race just to become stronger?"

"I did not say we abandon our race. I am just saying that even if we lose our features as a human, we will serve our races with our heart."

Griffin grinned.

"Did I not already do the same after killing your packs? They are, after all, disturbing our moments."

The black werewolf was losing his mind when arguing with Griffin.

Hence, he did not hesitate to attack Griffin and another round occurred. As expected, their battle was a draw. If the black werewolf entered another stage of berserk, then Griffin used his wind manipulation to keep up with the black werewolf.

The black werewolf gritted his teeth in anger as he entered another stage of the berserk. The berserk stages differed depending on the tribe. The black werewolf’s berserk could have three stages–the last depending on the moon. The second stage he was at now made his physique expanded, his attribute points surpassed even the max points.

Even then, Griffin showed his wind manipulation and sword mastery, and was still able to keep up with the black werewolf.

The black werewolf was becoming exasperated overtime and finally halted his assault. He did not ask for his girlfriend’s assistance. After all, when he accidentally glanced at Kaiju, the latter was staring at his girlfriend from time to time, dividing his focus at their battle and being cautious at the white werewolf.

Since they were settling their personal grudges, there was no point in involving others, either.

The black werewolf paused, and so did Griffin. They were trying their best to stabilize their breathing, not wanting others to be aware they were panting. The battle only lasted for thirty seconds, but their energy was almost spent.

They even used some magic skills, and, at that point, the black werewolf assessed that Griffin must have maxed out his mana points, too, the same as him.

Unfortunately, his berserk was not able to temporarily break the mana points.

The black werewolf’s mind was clearer than before after entering the second stage of berserk. He knew he had to reach consensus with Griffin and Kaiju.

I let his sharp tongue slide for now. After all, the black werewolf could finally move on to his main intentions.

The black werewolf breathed for a while and said, "I have a proposal."

Griffin narrowed his vision and replied, "Say."

He limited his words to stabilize his breathing.

The black werewolf was silent for a while, seemingly pondering, while, in fact, he was recovering his stamina, so he would not be able to speak while pausing in-between.

After a while, he said, "I can work with you to fight Vladislaus and others temporarily. But, I have a condition."

He was building suspense, but Griffin was only staring at him.

The black werewolf did not mind the awkward silence as, while staring at Griffin, he pointed his finger at Kaiju, and the latter’s face turned ugly.

After all, he noticed something during the battle of the black werewolf and Griffin.

The element on his mana condensation... Is that his intention from the start?

"If only he would let go of a single Epic grade artifact and let me wear it."
