Chapter 123: Griffin And The Black Werewolf’s Confrontation
On the other hand, the moment the black werewolf arrived on the other side of the hallway, while restraining his anger when he sniffed the scent of two humans, despite how shocking they made it before them, the black werewolf paused and his mind fell into a jumble.
What does it mean to discover there were two creatures who possessed a threat towards him? It was supposed to only mean they were the leader of the other higher races.
But... Can anyone explain why the human races have two freaking monsters?! Obviously, like him, the humans awakened the Legendary Class.
Of course, supposedly, they would still have an advantage as they possessed a fixed innate talent while humans clearly did not. However, staring at the wind seemingly affectionate at a single human made him almost lose his mind.
That is clearly wind manipulation! Only Faeries has innate talent to manipulate any elements depending on their affinity. And that other human... Why does it not seem bad?!
The black werewolf shook his head frantically and growled at Kaiju. That guy must be the beast tamer! But, why has he become stronger now?
His eyes accidentally glanced at the ring and the veil Kaiju wore and chills crept to his spine. He tamed those artifacts?! That guy should supposedly be a beast tamer, right? Not an artifact tamer? What in the world is happening?!
The black werewolf was losing his mind. However, he soon awakened when a warm sensation tapped his shoulder. It was the white werewolf.
The white werewolf, his girlfriend and soon to be his wife, was as strong as him. Together, they could fight against Kaiju and Griffin, but the winner would remain a mystery.
Although Kaiju’s pets were not as strong as them, it does not mean they would not be able to play a crucial role in a life and death battle. Hence, despite the black werewolf being confident they would win, due to the appearance of Kaiju’s pets, he did not feel like it anymore.
Of course, he already considered the fact that Kaiju must have a bloodline awakening as it would only explain his monstrous growth.
When one possessed a bloodline, the Tower seemed to have blessed them with luck, as they could instantly surpass their peers.
The black werewolf was not entirely wrong. Kaiju did not have a bloodline awakening but he had the effects of the Ring of the Eternal Night, Temporary Ascension, which was pretty similar to the bloodline awakening, for he was able to borrow the power of Vladislaus.
Of course, for only 30 seconds, but in that span of time, many things could happen, especially in a life and death battle.
Soon, the werewolves packs arrived and bared their fangs at Kaiju and Griffin, growling. However, their growls soon dwindle, like dogs who lost their aggressiveness when they noticed that humans seemed to be indifferent.
When the black werewolf was awakened from his stupor and glanced dazedly at his packs, his eyes lit up.
He grinned. He stared at Kaiju and Griffin with a wide smile. However, it appeared Kaiju and Griffin were nonchalant about their current situation.
Kaiju remained silent, perceiving Griffin had something to say.
"Do you think it is the right time to fight?" Griffin left his gaze at the black werewolf and glanced at Vladislaus’ coffin.
However, the black werewolf took the chance to attack, instantly appearing in front of Griffin and swiped his claws.
Kaiju merely glanced at him, as though showing he was able to keep up with the black werewolf’s speed, surprising the latter. However, since he was already at it, why not continue his attack at Griffin?
After all, Griffin was still staring at the coffin, seemingly wanting to point out its existence to the black werewolf.
Even so, he smoothly and swiftly thrust his rapier without staring at the black werewolf’s abrupt attack.
The claws and the rapier collided. There was spark, but no stalemate, as Griffin managed to push the claws away while thrusting in another direction, parrying another claw. They were so fast that the werewolves behind the black werewolf, except the white werewolf, only caught shadows and spark.
They gasped in astonishment. Who would have thought that a mere human is able to block our leader’s attack? Not just once, but twice. The way he blocked seemed to be so stylish, too. He even has a time to show off!
The black werewolf did not follow up with more attacks. His bloody pupils expanded, seemingly entering another stage of berserk. Griffin finally took him seriously and stared at the black werewolf, who was taller than him.
What he hated the most was that he was being looked down upon. Hence, with his precise control of wind, it carried him upward until he met the gaze of the black werewolf.
The black werewolf tilted his head upward and met Griffin’s green eyes in the equal position. The black werewolf was aware that fighting against Griffin was meaningless. Just like the latter had said, with the appearance of Vladislaus’ coffin, it was not the right time to fight.
However, he just received the Tower’s announcement–he had to wait for the representative of the other higher races before Vladislaus awakened.
So, of course, they still have some time to awaken their fighting spirits.
The black werewolf growled. "Your scent... You killed most of my packs, right?"
Griffin said, "So, what about it?"
"I can kill you because of that, right?"
"That is, if you have the means to do so."
The black werewolf was enraged, but, aside from his trembling body, he cast out a smile. "Since then humans have become arrogant. I remembered from my father that he had human slaves."
"Really? I heard from my father that he has wolves’ pets, too. Some came from your tribe."
The black werewolf narrowed his vision, staring daggers at Griffin. Looking at his reaction, he does not seem to be lying. But, is that true?
The black werewolf sniffed Griffin again now that he was close. His eyes widened. After entering another stage of berserk, his senses enhanced, too.
Now, he sniffed another familiar blood in Griffin’s body.
His face turned grave.
"Now, I understand where your arrogance is coming from. Who would have thought you possess the blood of the Vampire race?"
