Gacha Player: My Luck is Multiplied 10x
Chapter 121: Releasing Frustration

Chapter 121: Releasing Frustration

Snow blurted out, forgetting her Master was in deep contemplation, "Zephyr and Aqua died, Master? What happened?"

Kaiju stared at her in a daze. When his eyes regained clarity, he sighed.

"To be honest, Aqua died an hour or two ago. Then, I received... felt the connection between me and Zephyr was severed, as well. They surely must have died."

Kaiju almost blurted out the existence of the Gacha System. It did not mean he did not trust Snow and Little Gorilla enough to reveal the latter, but it did not hurt to be cautious. Hence, Kaiju responded in a way that made it seem as though he could feel the connection between him and his pets, while ironically, he could not—barely now, after the Gacha System revealed it.

"Why—How?" Snow was lost for words.

Meanwhile, Little Gorilla clasped his hands and closed his eyes, mourning. Kaiju sighed and closed his eyes in silence, eventually convincing Snow to act the same.

Kaiju’s heart ached a bit, especially recalling his interactions with Aqua and Zephyr, knowing that they would now remain only in his memories.

Once Little Gorilla finished praying for Aqua and Zephyr, Snow irked to continue their conversation.

"Who do you think is responsible for this, Master? I mean, how did Aqua die if he was with Teacher Lucy? Even more so, how did Zephyr fall when there were already three accompanying him?"

"Yeah, it does not make sense." Kaiju sighed. He did not know when sighing had become an addictive response to any situation, but it was better than puffing cigarettes. He was simply exhausted.

"What I worry about the most is the situation with Qwanisha and the others. I would not be surprised if they had rather let Zephyr live."

Snow was taken aback. Simply put, what her Master was saying was that Qwanisha and the others would rather sacrifice their lives to save Zephyr. If that was the case, if Zephyr had died, then that meant Qwanisha and the others must have died as well.

She felt a pang of pain in her heart, and as she recalled the image of Qwanisha, the kind Max, and the persistent yet adorable Faith, her eyes teared up.

Little Gorilla could not stop himself from grieving either if what his Master was trying to say was correct. After all, Faith was his teacher, and he had grown attached to her to the point that he even considered her as his mother—Faith had been so caring.

He once tried to convince his Teacher to be together with Kaiju, which resulted in Faith teaching him about her profession instead. He felt bad and apologized deeply. Just recalling those moments made Little Gorilla tear up as well.

"Stop crying, Little Gorilla, you are making me cry too!"

"You cried first..." Little Gorilla complained softly.

Snow did not hear what he said as she was now weeping.

Kaiju sighed, letting them feel what they wanted, but, of course, he had to comfort them.

"Alright. We still do not know, so we must not lose hope. Your Teacher Lucy and Faith are strong. If I can even defeat a Crimson Knight, what’s more to them?"

"But Master, we barely defeated a single one, one that was not intelligent. What if they came across a wave of Crimson Knights? In addition, the artifact of Vladislaus must not have complemented them, making them less strong than you."

Kaiju was unsurprisingly lost for words. Snow was correct. However, Kaiju could still not get rid of his intuition that there must be more to it. If they were killed by Crimson Knights... Even if he had the treasures, he was still confident Qwanisha and the others could fairly hold their own even without them. They might be able to get rid of dozens of Crimson Knights similar to the ones he had encountered earlier, albeit with some struggle.

What was more, Lucy had even played with a witch?! There had to be more to it! Kaiju was adamant about believing his intuition.

In the end, he said, "We really can’t know, Snow. You should know yourself how strong Lucy is. Even without treasures, she is almost a realm breaker. She might struggle a bit against dozens of Crimson Knights, but she would surely be able to defeat all of them."

Snow pondered for a while and hesitantly nodded. What her Master had said was sensible, so she chose to believe him.

"In addition, worrying will lead us nowhere."

Kaiju glanced at Little Gorilla and saw he was anxious as well. Understandable, Kaiju thought.

"Faith is even stronger when it comes to support. With her powerful spells, the already strong Max and Qwanisha would be even more powerful."

Finally, Little Gorilla’s worry receded somewhat. Kaiju was glad. However, since they had nothing to do but wait, they would inevitably overthink what really happened to Zephyr and Aqua.

Hence, Kaiju contemplated for a while and finally decided.

"Should we take another hallway and kill Crimson Knights out of boredom?"

Snow and Little Gorilla were reluctant at first, until Kaiju was able to convince them.

"If it really was the Crimson Knights who killed Zephyr and Aqua, we need to take revenge on them, right?"

Kaiju grinned.

Little Gorilla, wiping his eyes, nodded hesitantly. Snow, too, gathered herself and took a deep breath. Kaiju understood their hesitation. Unlike him, they had more time to grow attached to their fallen comrades. But in the Tower, grief could not be a chain that held them back.

"Then let’s go. We’ll fight in their memory," Kaiju declared.

As they moved through the dimly lit hallways, the oppressive silence was broken only by the sound of their footsteps. The weight of loss hung in the air, but so did the fire of vengeance. Crimson Knights, no matter how many, would fall before them.

It did not take long before they encountered the first patrol—a group of five Crimson Knights, their blood-colored armor gleaming under the faint torchlight. Kaiju wasted no time, his body surging forward with explosive speed. With a single, devastating strike, he shattered the leading knight’s helmet, revealing the empty void beneath.

Snow lunged at another, her serpentine body coiling around its form, fangs sinking into the weak spots of its armor. Frost spread rapidly, freezing its limbs solid before she smashed it apart with a tail strike.

Little Gorilla roared, his fists crackling with raw energy as he leapt onto a knight, hammering blows upon its head until it crumpled into a heap of shattered metal.

The remaining two knights charged, but Kaiju intercepted them effortlessly. He parried one strike and countered with a brutal kick that sent the knight flying. Snow and Little Gorilla finished the last opponent in unison, their combined force utterly annihilating the enemy.

Kaiju smirked. "Not bad, but this is just the beginning. Let’s hunt them all down."

...

Kaiju and his pets spent two hours cleaning up five hallways consecutively. Little Gorilla and Snow did not hold back, killing as many Crimson Knights as they could. Of course, most of the Crimson Knights were already injured by Kaiju, letting them clean his mess.

He accompanied Snow and Little Gorilla to vent their stress. After all, they had to. They had grown attached to something or someone, who would eventually leave–even if it was by force or not.

Although Kaiju might act apathetic, he was not able to deny the side effects of overusing the Emotionless skill. He could control his emotions not, but at what cost?

After two hours, Little Gorilla and Snow were completely exhausted. However, their eyes were still fiery, they were still determined to wipe out as many Crimson Knights as possible. Kaiju had to hold them back, lest they might end up helping other higher races as a result.

"Do you, two, want to exhaust yourself to the point you can’t move your limbs once you fight Vladislaus? Give yourself a break. We also can not afford to give a free entrance to other higher races. We have to exhaust them, too!"

Little Gorilla and Snow hung their heads low, scolded by their Master. They were finally convinced to rest with their Master, while the latter occasionally conversed with them to distract themselves to the death of Zephyr and Aqua–of course, in the worst imagination of the death of their teachers.

They were not that attached to Zephyr and Aqua, anyway.

Just as Kaiju and their pets were taking their time, while Kaiju was not minding if they would end waking Vladislaus due to their noises, a step reverberated on the hallway next to them.

It seemed to belong to a single person, appearing relaxed, as well.

Kaiju pondered. Usually, the other higher races tend to be solitary. It might be... His eyes lit up. Teacher Griffin!

The likelihood of Griffin to be the second person to enter the boss room was high. Hence, Kaiju was delighted.

Of course, he still stood up, taking his defensive stance, while waiting for the creature to reveal their appearance.

Breathtakingly, the creature’s step stopped, even though Kaiju tried his best to remain as silent as possible when moving.

Nevertheless, the unknown creature continued to walk, not appearing relaxed now, seemingly even lightening the noise.

Once he revealed himself and quickly swept his gaze, he was stunned to see the person awaiting for him.

Kaiju was stunned, even though he anticipated it, he still found it unexpected.

"Teacher Griffin!" He exclaimed lightly, smiling.

Griffin was completely taken aback, eyes slightly wide opened, assessing Kaiju, and bitterly smiled.

"Pupil, it seems you have gotten stronger again. I guess, I have to catch up to your ridiculous growth, too, and continue to stand before you."
