Chapter 99: Ask For Favor (Part 1)

The destroyed building wasn’t just any commercial or residential complex; it was the Prism Tower Building.

The Spirit Cultivator Association set up a barrier near the building. So, the residents on the ground couldn’t see it, only those people who traveling on aerial buses could see it, which causing every bus to be packed by people.

Amalia was on one of those buses.

Looking down from a height place, the Prism Tower Building was already looked distorted. Unlike the previous incidents, this time it seemed as if a colossal creature had been crashed into it directly.

There were more than a dozen spirit cultivators guarded the area, each of them emitting a powerful aura that deterring the nearby residents from approaching.

"’Hey, did you hear? Many people died last night. Usually, this kind of news gets suppressed, but last night, many people have heard and saw it. They can’t hide it anymore this time.’’

’’It’s terrifying! I saw it last night; it was a huge monster, as big as a mountain. Those pits and bumps on the ground are its footprints.’’

’’Yes, and those people down there dosn’t look like police.’’

’’They’re all spirit cultivators. Do you know what spirit cultivators are? It’s basically cultivating immortality. The government thinks we ordinary folks don’t know anything; they always try to cover up such incidents.’’

’’If they’re so powerful, why couldn’t they catch the monster? What if it runs into my neighborhood next time?’’

’’Oh god, I want to move. Big Apple City is no longer safe.’’

The crowd buzzed with conversation. What had initially been a lively atmosphere of discussion suddenly turned fearful and anxious.

Amalia searched online and found that the morning’s top ten trending topics were all about the Prism Tower Building being attacked by a monster. However, within half an hour, all these trending topics were taken down.

Many fear-mongering posts were also wiped clean, and some defiant ones had their accounts banned outright.

More severely, some had their identity IDs blocked. Since identity IDs were closely related to real-life matters, being blocked caused considerable inconvenience.

Although some continued to clamor about the incident, no one dared to mention it again. The once panicked and anxious online space gradually settled down. Those who came later had no idea what had happened, and the topic shifted to other matters.

Amalia’s view was soon obstructed by nearby tall buildings, and she could no longer see the damaged Prism Tower Building.

As she returned from Boss Zenon’s place with the materials, all she could see were the pockmarked grounds, and everything else had vanished.

The spirit cultivators around had been replaced by police officers.

Kenny Lin still hadn’t returned.

Amalia gazed at the empty apartment, and almost forgetting it wasn’t actually her place.

She initially considering to find a new residence, but she later realized that the school term was about to start, so her chances of staying in Big Apple City were limited. So, she dismissed the thought and decided to glean more about the Earth from Kenny Lin.

Since Kenny Lin wasn’t around, she planned to craft the artifact for Martin’s son.

Two hours later, an identical advanced level artifact emerged, which entirely different from the one Arthur had seen.

This was perhaps the best quality artifact Amalia had crafted during this time period of crafting artifacts.

Both were advanced level artifacts, but Martin’s eldest son’s artifact had two intermediate level incriptions, while the one in his possession had one advanced level and one intermediate incription, showing clear differences in quality.

Amalia was content. However, she had promised Martin to create an identical artifact, so she wasn’t sure if the other party would accept this one.

Thinking this, he dialed Martin’s communication number.

’’Ms. Vanquez? Isn’t it still not the right time?’’ Martin was in a meeting but couldn’t resist stepping out when he saw Amalia’s name.

’’I want to ask for your opinion on something. I’ve finished crafting the artifact, but it’s slightly different from what was agreed upon.’’

Amalia honestly admitted that if Martin didn’t want it, she would keep the artifact and craft a new one. After all, she had enough materials.

Martin raised an eyebrow, furrowed his brow lightly, and sighed, ’’My youngest son specifically requested it to be identical. If there’s any difference, he might get angry. Can you show it to me?’’

Amalia directly presented the artifact to him.

’’Wait... Why do I see it as identical?’’ Martin thought he might be seeing things, as it looked exactly the same.

"Why would Ms. Vanquez say it’s different?"

"The incriptions are different."

Amalia explained, "This artifact has one intermediate and one advanced level incription, while your eldest son’s artifact has two intermediate level incriptions."

Martin’s expression changed instantly, his voice raised, "An advanced level incription?"

Amalia nodded, "If the young master doesn’t want it, I can remake it."

"No, no, I’ll take this artifact. It’s just..."

Martin suddenly wore a wry expression, "If my eldest son finds out his younger brother’s artifact is better than him, he might cause a scene."

Amalia remained indifferent; this matter wasn’t her concern.

"Would Ms. Vanquez like someone to deliver it, or should I come to pick it up?" Martin asked casually, and adjusting his demeanor slightly.

There was a subtle change in attitude, he know there is still differences between crafting and repairing artifacts.

Seeing is believing; witnessing it personally made all the difference. With this peace of mind, he had resolved his doubts.

"Since I’m free now, I’ll deliver it by myself. Where should I meet you for the handover?" Amalia inquired.

"Let’s do it at my house," Martin opted not to trouble Ms. Vanquez.

Amalia agreed and ended the communication, and preparing to leave for Martin’s residence.

En route, she messaged Samuel, informing him that the threat from the incubus boy had been eliminated, and temporarily resolving the Salvador family’s crisis.

Samuel didn’t reply, but Amalia didn’t dwell on it.

As she neared Martin’s doorstep, her communicator rang. It was from Samuel, he appearing fatigued and not seeming entirely fine.
