Chapter 98: Coming Back To The Rodriguez Family (Part 2)
"An artificer’s skill are varies. Being adept at repairing artifacts doesn’t necessarily mean superior in crafting. Crafting an artifact requires a holistic approach and mastery of all details, which repairing artifact might not need it. Still, although those people from wealthy families might help you spread your name, but who knows, their honey might be poison."
As he spoke, Arthur’s eyes were fixed on Amalia.
Although Alex remained displeased with Amalia, his father’s words convinced him partially.
Arthur returned the artifact to Amalia, and sighing, "Consider this, you’re about to start school soo. There’s something I want to discuss with you. Alex, please excuse us for a moment."
Alex probably knew what his father wanted to talk about and he obediently left.
"Amalia, do you still remember what Uncle mentioned to you earlier? How have you thought about it?" Arthur rubbed his tired brows, feeling unbearable, but asked helplessly.
Amalia’s eyes flickered. After inhabiting the original owner’s body, Arthur hadn’t mentioned that incident again. It was something that was brought up in the past, but the original owner never understood its significance and didn’t dwell on it.
Thinking back again, even if Arthur knew the danger involved, how could he tell the original owner that he was sending her to the main family in place of his son, essentially just to meet his doom?
The original owner had always trusted Arthur, and believing him to be the kindest person to her after her foster parents. Thus, she never suspected the malicious intent behind Arthur’s request for her to replace Alex at the main family’s house.
With ample time provided by Arthur to Amalia, the previous scene involving Amalia’s attitude shift occurred when he summoned her parents.
This time the school was about to start, and Arthur couldn’t wait any longer.
Unfortunately, precisely at this moment, Amalia wasn’t the original owner. Almost at the same time as Arthur spoke, she realized it.
This might be another threat.
Since they knew she was an artificer, they would investigate her. They might already be aware of her conflict with Yannis; otherwise, Arthur wouldn’t have mentioned the "honey as poison" phrase.
If she didn’t agree, would they ally with Yannis against her?
Amalia pondered for a moment and meeting Arthur’s gaze calmly. "I understand, Uncle. I agree to go to the Royal Durian City in place of my cousin. After all, I was going there anyway, right?"
"Thank you, Amalia!" Arthur gratefully held her hand.
Amalia pulled out her hand from him in the next second, and said: ’’If Uncle doesn’t have anything else, I’ll take my leave, I have something to attend to.’’
’’Stay and have a meal before leaving,’’ Arthur habitually ordered.
"’No, thank you, Uncle.’ Amalia nodded and turned around to leave.
Watching her departing figure, Arthur frowned.
Although her character had changed a bit, as long as the person hadn’t slipped out from his grasp, it didn’t matter.
"I hope that old man’s appearance won’t interfere with my plans!’ Arthur muttered to himself.
The only variable was the old man.
After Amalia left, Alex and the others rushed over to inquire. Learning that Amalia had agreed, they were ecstatic.
"’Father, what if he has an artificer as his master? Will there be any trouble?’ Despite his joy, Alex was still concerned that Amalia’s master might cause trouble and suspected that the so-called master was a fabrication by Amalia.
"My son, rest assured, her foster parents are still under our control. Even if her master obstructs, she’ll have to comply.’’ Arthur’s warmth vanished from his eyes, leaving only ruthlessness.
Alex was very excited, ’’Father speaks the truth.’’
But Grace’s eyes were constantly shifting and clearly thinking of another scheme to harm someone.
when the siblings stepped out of the gate, she pulled Alex further away.
"Brother, are we just going to let Amalia go like this? He’s actually an artificer. I don’t believe things are as she said!’’
Alex glanced at her, ’’I don’t believe it either, but that’s the truth. If she were discovered at Heavenly Path University, it couldn’t have been hidden.’’
"I always feel this might be a hidden threat. Brother, can’t we do what we did before, secretly tear up the cultivation technique that our father gave to her, to teach her a lesson?’’ Grace urgently suggested.
"Not this time. If something happens to her, who will replace me to go to the main family? Anyway, sooner or later she will going to the main family. At that time she was no different from dead people. So, don’t interfere and ruin our father’s plans,’’ Alex said while warning her.
"Understood. Last time, I followed your instructions and tore a page from the cultivation technique.’’ Grace pouted.
"Good to know.’’ With that, Alex confidently returned.
Amalia had always thought Grace was the direct culprit in the original owner’s death, while Alex was just an accomplice.
Unexpectedly, the truth was the opposite. Alex, usually silent and not prone to mischief, was actually the mastermind behind Grace’s actions.
However, she had already left the Rodriquez family and was unaware of this fact for the time being.
Her agreement with Arthur was just a temporary measure; there was still plenty of time ahead, and opportunities would arise.
In the future, she would make the Rodriguez family realize how wrong they were in letting her go today.
In the following days, Kenny Lin started leading a life of coming and going early. Sometimes, even when Amalia got up early, he hadn’t returned.
In the bustling Big Apple City under the scorching sun, if there were any changes, it was probably the strange incidents that were becoming more frequent.
If it were before, Amalia would have been curious about what was happening. But since Kenny Lin had revealed the truth to him, he no longer found it strange.
On the way to fetch materials agreed upon with Boss Zenon, Amalia witnessed another incident.
This time, it couldn’t be concealed any longer.
Due to its significant impact, the police couldn’t contain it, and ultimately, it required intervention from the Spirit Cultivator Association.
