Chapter 100: Ask For Favor (Part 2)

"Is Yannis causing trouble for you?" Amalia asked.

Samuel hastily shook his head, hesitating, "No, it’s just that I might need to go to seclusion for a while."

"Hmm?"

"Carlos might need your help for a bit."

"He mentioned that. I promised you. Are you sure everything’s fine?" Amalia noticed that he seemed spiritually fatigued, as if his cultivation had weakened.

Samuel insisted that everything was fine, so Amalia refrained from pressing further. If he wasn’t talking about it, it probably wasn’t an insurmountable problem.

Martin’s company wasn’t far from home; so, he arrived first before Amalia.

"Ms. Vanquez, please come in, and have a seat," Martin personally greeted her with a smile and led her to the living room.

Amalia accepted the invitation and took out the artifact before sitting down.

Martin received the artifact and promptly called for his second son.

As he wasn’t the artifact’s owner, and only the contracted owner could see the artifact’s incriptions. However, the quality could still be gauged from its appearance.

At first glance, Martin could tell that Amalia’s words were accurate. This artifact’s quality surpassed even his elder son’s artifact.

Not long after, there was the sound of hurried footsteps coming from the direction of the stairs.

Amalia turned to see a vivacious young boy briskly approaching. she was quite handsome but had a somewhat defiant look in his eyes. No wonder Martin was always worried about his twin sons.

"Dad, I heard my artifact was crafted. Where is it? Let me see!"

The boy pounced on Martin, grabbed the artifact in his faather’s hand as soon as he saw it, and exclaimed, "Is this it? Is this it?"

"Yes, yes, but could you be a bit more composed? You’re not a child anymore, and we have a guest," Martin sounded helpless but revealed a hint of indulgence in his expression.

The boy glanced at Amalia, a spark shining in his beautiful eyes, but he was quickly captivated by the artifact in his hands.

A few seconds later, he screamed in delight, not concerned about being composed at all.

"Dad, dad, I love you to death! I adore this artifact," the boy shouted while hugging Martin.

"As long as you like it. But for now, don’t let your brother know it, okay?" Martin habitually cautioned him. In fact, he knew in his heart that his younger son would likely to show off in front of his older brother.

"Dad has something to discuss with Ms. Vanquez, you can go and play by yourself."

The boy snorted and went upstairs with the artifact.

"I made Ms. Vanquez laugh," Martin sat down and smiling.

Amalia observed Martin’s expression of sweet burden and was momentarily reminded of a similar scene from a previous life.

His uncle also had a pair of twins boys. Although, they are more mischievous than Martin’s twin sons. Despite his uncle’s anger, he still couldn’t hide his happiness behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, she could no longer witness those moments.

Amalia felt a bit melancholic, but she concealed it well, keeping a stoic expression. Even though Martin was sharp, she couldn’t perceive Amalia’s emotions at all.

"Mr. Carnales, I don’t want any compensation for this artifact. I have only one favor to ask," Amalia gathered herself and spoke up.

Martin had already guessed; Amalia was strong enough and likely didn’t need the money. She had come voluntarily to his house, indicating she had another purpose, and her words confirmed Martin’s guess.

"Ms. Vanquez, just say it. If it’s within my capabilities, I’ll do my best to help," Martin assured.

"Arthur Rodriguez is my uncle, and our relationship isn’t good. So, I’d like to ask Mr. Carnales to take care of my foster parents after I leave Big Apple City," Amalia straightforwardly revealed her background.

Hearing Arthur Rodriguez’s name surprised Martin, but even more surprising was that Amalia disclosed her family background. Martin had investigated Amalia’s background but couldn’t find anything.

The original owner rarely went out when she still at the Rodriguez residence, and after Amalia left, she hardly mentioned it or visited them. It was almost impossible to find any information about her outside.

Someone like Arthur, surprisingly, would create a rift between his niece and himself.

One must know, his niece was a genius artificer who if she was given the opportunity, would undoubtedly reach heights beyond the reach of ordinary people.

He wonder what the Rodriquez family did to arouse Ms. Vanquez’s displeasure. This matter needs proper investigation.

If Arthur’s discernment is truly this limited, he have overestimated him before.

"I didn’t expect Ms. Vanquez’s uncle to be the head of the Rodriquez family," Martin thought inwardly, without revealing a trace.

He merely exclaimed, as a legitimate businessman he had sharply observed that an opportunity had arisen.

Until today, Martin had been contemplating how to establish more deep connections with Amalia after she crafted his younger son’s artifact. Unexpectedly, the opportunity presented itself, and it seemed fate was also assisting him.

Amalia remained silent.

"How does Mr. Carnales feel about this?" she inquired.

Martin laughed heartily, "Ms. Vanquez’s request, i can still manage it. There aren’t many people in Big Apple City who dare to refuse to giving me face."

Martin said this confidently, not without a reason. Amalia could make such a request because she had investigated Martin’s identity.

On the surface, he was a just real estate businessman, but in truth, he had more substantial backing.

Martin’s wife hailed from the capital, Royal Durian City’s Sabate family, the same family as Mikel Sabate. When Mikel visited Martin’s house, he sought Martin’s help to find someone.

If Arthur were smart, he would know not to offend Martin. Otherwise, as a branch family head, the Rodriquez family might not protect him, but the Sabate family would definetely ensure Martin’s safety.

"Thank you," upon hearing his assurance, Amalia felt relieved. Now she could confidently head to the capital Royal Durian City.

Martin wanted to invite Amalia for dinner but was declined due to her stating that she had something urgent to attend to.

Leaving Martin’s residence, Amalia found her parents’ contact numbers on her communicator. After a moment’s hesitation, she dialed.

"Darling, how come you have time to call your dad today?" Her father’s honest and simple face occupied the entire holographic screen.
