Amalia raised an eyebrow. "Animal instincts, huh?"

Kenny Lin turned back and slowly corrected her, "It’s the instinct of love."

Amalia: "..." He still had the mood to joke around—impressive.

She glanced in the direction they were heading. Ahead seemed to be the path toward Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain. Their danger hadn’t lessened at all, and those Pixiu might not even be alive anymore.

"Hey," a faintly surprised voice suddenly came from the front.

"Humans?" Gor’kan immediately assumed a defensive stance, though this time he didn’t attack right away. After meeting Huoyan Huasheng, he learned that not all humans were bad.

"Zhar’khaen, the new kin you mentioned before, they aren’t these two, are they? But aren’t they humans?" Vryss’laar behind Gor’kan asked in shock.

"No, they’re not, but they are connected," Zhar’khaen rushed forward to meet Amalia and Kenny Lin.

Amalia quickly interrupted him, "Now’s not the time to talk. Let’s find somewhere to hide first. The devils are hunting us, and among them is a Monarch-level devil."

That last sentence was enough to stop Zhar’khaen’s babbling. With a quick curse, he grabbed both of them and started running. He didn’t dare run back, as Dalamadur and the humans were right behind them.

"What the hell is going on? Why is a Monarch-level devil after you?" Zhar’khaen said in frustration. They had just provoked a Dalamadur, and now these two weaker humans had managed to provoke an even greater threat.

"Let’s find a safe place first," Amalia replied, her voice now calm as Zhar’khaen’s speed exceeded theirs.

"There is no safe place. One of my companions is poisoned by humans, and they can track us through it," Zhar’khaen said darkly.

"Poison?" Amalia looked at the weakened white crane behind Gor’kan. "Is it the Scent of Heavenly Dew?"

"Yes, you know about it?" Zhar’khaen was taken aback.

Amalia calmly pulled out the antidote, given to them by Sect Master Bai through Yuan Ran, and handed it over. "Yes, this is the cure for the Scent of Heavenly Dew. Just eat it, and you’ll be fine."

The three Pixiu were dumbfounded.

"Are you crazy?" Zhar’khaen was the first to react. "There’s no way something could be that convenient."

"This was given to me by a senior from my sect. If you don’t want it, I’ll take it back." Amalia feigned taking the antidote back.

In a flash, Zhar’khaen snatched it and shoved it into Vryss’laar’s mouth. "Eat it! Quickly!" Before Vryss’laar could even taste it, the fruit was swallowed whole. Its energy quickly spread through his body, and he froze.

"Well? Is it working?" Zhar’khaen asked anxiously, while even Gor’kan’s eyes were filled with concern.

Vryss’laar stood there, dazed.

Zhar’khaen slapped him hard, a loud crack echoing as the crane snapped out of it. Forgetting to hit back, he exclaimed, "My strength... it seems to be coming back!"

He immediately leaped off Gor’kan’s back, soaring far ahead. His speed had always been faster than both Gor’kan and Zhar’khaen.

"I’ve finally confirmed something," Kenny Lin’s voice echoed in Amalia’s mind.

"Don’t say it. I already know what you’re thinking," Amalia responded, her face expressionless.

"No, I have to say it. If I don’t, I’ll explode. The reason Pixiu clan was nearly wiped out wasn’t because of betrayal, but because they’ve got something wrong with their brains, right?"

Amalia: "..."

She had indeed underestimated the absurdity of Kenny Lin’s mind.

The three Pixiu were still reeling from shock. Taking advantage of its familiarity with the Silent Echo Valley, it swiftly dove into a mountain stream, hidden beneath the dense canopy of trees.

The interior of the stream was vast, with a complex terrain filled with cliffs and rock walls, alongside a pool of water that emitted wisps of white smoke.

"I know a place where we can hide temporarily; follow me," Zhar’khaen said, pulling Amalia and Kenny Lin into a crack at the edge of the cliff.

Vryss’laar and Gor’kan followed closely behind. The small disturbance in the quiet mountain gorge quickly faded into silence once more as they concealed themselves.

In the middle of the cliff’s crack was a narrow space with a small waterfall, which could easily accommodate several people for a short time.

"How did you even find a place like this?" Gor’kan asked, surprised. Only Zhar’khaen could discover such unusual spots.

"I stumbled upon it by chance. It may not be very secure, but it should work for a brief rest," Zhar’khaen replied proudly as he set down Amalia and Kenny Lin.

Gor’kan nodded and turned to Amalia and Kenny Lin, pausing for a moment. "Thank you for your fruit. Without it, we would have been chased indefinitely."

With the addition of Dalamadur, the speed, and strength of their pursuers meant it was only a matter of time before they were caught. Amalia had arrived just in time.

"Rescuing you is merely because you are Welath’s kin. Once we’re out of this, we’ll need your help," Amalia said honestly, clarifying that she hadn’t acted out of mere compassion.

"Wealth?" Gor’kan blinked in confusion.

"Speaking of which, where are our new kin?" Vryss’laar’s gaze focused on Amalia. "I have a vague feeling that there’s some bloodline connection between us, but she should be human."

Zhar’khaen cleared his throat, warning, "Open your eyes; don’t get scared later."

Amalia then pulled out Wealth one from her arms.

"A cub?!" Gor’kan and Vryss’laar exclaimed in unison, their eyes nearly popping out of their heads.

Two seconds later, both of them glared angrily at Zhar’khaen, their expressions mirroring his initial shock upon discovering that their kin was just a small cub. "You didn’t tell us that this kin is a little cub!"

It’s no wonder Zhar’khaen had said their kin was weak; it was not just weak—it was a newborn cub! How could it not be weak?!

Zhar’khaen laughed awkwardly. "I didn’t mention it because I was worried you’d be scared."
