Chapter 591: Nameless Peak (Part 1)

Amalia and Kenny Lin searched every corner and finally accepted the truth.

The door couldn’t be fixed.

Once installed, it would collapse at the slightest breeze.

In frustration, Kenny Lin threw the door to the ground.

"We’re not fixing it," he said.

Amalia looked at him, her eyes were gloomy.

Kenny Lin pondered for two seconds, "We’ll fix it tomorrow."

That was more like it.

Amalia reluctantly nodded her head in agreement.

They chose another room to stay in for the night.

The next morning, they went to the management hall to ask for tools to repair the door frame.

Of course, they didn’t mention they needed them for that purpose.

Unlike with others they encountered, the steward was particularly respectful to them.

This was because the person in charge when Renshu Chang brought them here yesterday was this very steward.

Having received the tools, Amalia asked, "Can we receive our disciple benefits today?"

"Of course."

The benefits for inner disciples were the same for everyone.

Without hesitation, the steward handed them two storage bags containing a month’s worth of supplies.

There were ten mid-grade spirit stones and several pills inside.

Since both were still in the Foundation Building stage, they only received Foundation Building pills.

Pills like True Essence Pill and Spirit Gathering Pill were for intermediate to late Foundation Building stage.

"Do all inner disciples receive this much?" Amalia asked in surprise.

The steward replied, "Yes."

"Thank you," Amalia nodded.

After leaving the management hall,

Kenny Lin said, "Why is the Green Lotus Sect so stingy? They only gave ten mid-grade spirit stones."

Amalia glanced at him, "I heard outer disciples receive only thirty low-grade spirit stones and a few pills each month."

Kenny Lin immediately changed his tone, "That’s still acceptable."

Amalia packed away the two storage bags, "Relying on sect supplies, this path will never work out. We have to rely on ourselves. Let’s go to the Mission Hall."

"We’re starting missions already?" Kenny Lin didn’t ask for his own share.

"Let’s take a look first. We don’t know anything yet. Heading out on a mission now might increase the chances of getting lost," Amalia replied.

The Mission Hall was just a few steps away, bustling with people coming and going.

Some were receiving missions, others were submitting them, and a few were returning injured from failed missions.

Renshu Chang had informed them yesterday that after six months as disciples of the Green Lotus Sect, they would receive a fixed number of missions each month.

The higher their cultivation, the more difficult the missions.

"Some of these missions here are quite peculiar," Amalia observed, looking up at the mission board in front of them.

The missions listed ranged from difficult to easy, each with its own ranking.

On this side, many missions required disciples to hunt and gather certain parts from demonic beasts or find specific spiritual herbs and fruits.

However, on the opposite board, the missions were completely different.

"To slay a Rank 4 devil, you earn one contribution point. This mission is permanently available. Slay a General-class devil, earn five contribution points. Similarly, this mission is permanently available..." Kenny Lin read aloud.

"I’ve heard from the people in the Illusion zone that they’re mentioned about devil. What exactly are these devils?" Amalia asked.

Kenny Lin raised an eyebrow, "They’re probably enemies of the human race in this Mystic Void Continent."

"Based on the trials in the Illusion Zone, these devils can possess and assimilate with humans," Amalia added.

Amalia stroked her chin, pondering, "And slaying a Rank 4 devil only earns one contribution point, but it’s permanently available. It seems these devils are quite abundant creatures. If we get the chance, we should definitely experience it."

Nowadays, it seemed that hunting these devils was the mainstream in the Mystic Void Continent.

"Junior Master Uncle, I’ve finally found you," Renshu Chang’s voice that was filled with weariness, suddenly sounded beside them, not too loud.

Turning around, they saw his troubled face.

"Do you need us for something?" Kenny Lin raised an eyebrow.

"It’s not me looking for Junior Master Uncle; it’s Master Uncle. He sent a message to my master, who asked me to find you," Renshu Chang replied.

"Let’s go then," Amalia guessed what the Master Lian had in mind for them.

She hadn’t expected things to move so quickly, unsure whether it was good news or bad.

Renshu Chang sincerely thanked Amalia for being there; without her, he wouldn’t have known how to handle this troublesome Junior Master Uncle.

If it had been disciples of other elders, it would have been different, but his seniority was so high that it was very intimidating.

As soon as he entered the sect, even the disciple of the Sect Master like him need to pay respect to him.

The three of them quickly returned to the Upper Ninth Peak.

Amalia noticed Renshu Chang looking as if he was about to burst with urgency but didn’t dare to push Kenny Lin.

"Master Uncle, I’ve brought them," Renshu Chang said dryly upon seeing Master Lian waiting at the peak for the second time.

Master Lian didn’t show anger and just asked, "Why did you come down the mountain?"

"We were going to starve from poverty if we don’t go down the mountain," Kenny Lin muttered and he was poked by Amalia to stop his nonsense.

"You’ll get what you deserve," Master Lian said coolly, his eyes turning to Amalia, "You, come with me."

"I’m coming too," Kenny Lin immediately added.

For reasons unknown, Master Lian didn’t refuse, "Then everyone shall come."

Renshu Chang hadn’t expected to be included in "everyone," and was shocked when he found himself standing at the foot of the peak.

"What kind of peak is this?"

Amalia had never seen this peak before.

"Nameless Peak is not among the Lower Nine Peaks. It’s located on the edge of the Upper Nine Peaks and is shrouded by a barrier, making it invisible from the outside," Renshu Chang secretly explained to the two of them.
