Chapter 590: Master And Disciples (Part 5)
Master Lian said calmly, "It’s not that there aren’t any, it’s just not easy to ask. That senior has never taken disciples, and even with the Sect Master’s intervention, it would be futile."
In an instant, Renshu Chang knew exactly whom Master Uncle was referring to, there was a look of disbelief in his eyes
It must be that person whom Master Uncle spoke of, but that wasn’t the point.
The crucial point was that Master Uncle had actually took an initiative to mentioned that senior.
Could it be that Master Uncle really intended for that senior to take Amalia as a disciple?
Well, if Amalia indeed cultivated from scratch to Foundation Building stage in just nineteen months, she was indeed the most monstrous talent he had ever seen.
His Master was the Sect Leader of the Green Lotus Sect.
When his Master had come forward in the past to have that senior accept Junior Brother Hsu as a disciple, the senior had ruthlessly refused.
That senior’s seniority surpassed even his master, and if that senior refused, his Master couldn’t do much.
In the end, Junior Brother Hsu had been accepted as a disciple by an elder who excelled in knife techniques.
But if Master Uncle is the one who personally come forward, would that senior still refuse?
Renshu Chang didn’t know, but he felt certain that a straightforward refusal was unlikely.
"In that case, I’ll trouble Master," Kenny Lin said with a grin.
Renshu Chang was too shocked to say anything.
"Calling me Master, you really know how to push your luck," Master Lian said lightly, not accusing him, "Very well, since she was brought here with my consent, I’ll inquire about it on your behalf. However, if he declines, I won’t force him."
Kenny Lin nudged Amalia gently, and they both bowed, "Thank you, Master."
Master Lian waved his hand, "Is there anything else?"
"There is," Kenny Lin said bluntly.
Amalia felt tired and just let him do whatever he want.
Renshu Chang was stunned, suddenly feeling a sense of despair.
Was there more to come?
If he were from Earth, he could surely describe his current feelings.
Even riding a roller coaster wasn’t this thrilling.
"Speak," Master Lian said crisply.
Kenny Lin liked straightforward people.
Since this person was his Master, he doesn’t need to hold back.
"Our family Lia is also an Artificer. If she becomes a disciple of that senior, would she still be able to join the Artifact Peak?"
Artifact Peak was the only peak in the Lower Nine Peaks with Artificers.
All Artificers had to join Artifact Peak.
However, Artificers were scarce, and most of them preferred to join the prestigious Artifact Refining Valley, so there wasn’t much to choose from.
Renshu Chang was once again dumbfounded.
He had witnessed Amalia’s challenges and battles, during which she never used fire or displayed any signs of being an Artificer while swiftly dealing with either humans or demonic beasts.
It was surprising to learn that she was also an Artificer.
"You can join Artifact Peak, but you can only have one Master," Master Lian looked at Amalia, "However, you should understand that regardless of which Master you choose, whether for artifact refining or cultivation, there will always be aspects without direct guidance. They won’t teach you hands-on, which means you may encounter many detours."
"I understand," Amalia nodded.
"Very well. You two find a place to stay. Tomorrow, I will visit him. Whether it works out, we’ll leave it to fate," Master Lian said and departed.
This time, Kenny Lin didn’t utter anything that would shock Renshu Chang and respectfully seeing off his Master.
"Junior Sisters..."
Renshu Chang was about to call her when he suddenly realized that if she became that senior’s disciple, he couldn’t call her Junior Sister anymore.
His expression became complex as he looked at her, "Did you really... only cultivate for nineteen months?"
Amalia nodded her head, "More or less."
"You’re really an Artificer?"
Amalia nodded again.
"Why didn’t you join the Artifact Refining Valley then? It’s where the most renowned Artificers in Mystic Void Continent are. Many Artificers dream of joining the Artifact Refining Valley."
"Th Green Lotus Sect is the best choice for Kenny and my actual combat abilities is not that weak too, so joining the Green Lotus Sect is not bad choice," Amalia replied nonchalantly.
Renshu Chang suddenly began to understand.
Perhaps Amalia had focused so much on advancing her cultivation in the past year that she neglected her artifact refining skills, which was why she readily gave up on the Artifact Refining Valley.
As he thought this, Renshu Chang suddenly felt reassured.
Even the most talented person couldn’t manage everything at once.
Unbeknownst to Renshu Chang, he had taken quite a blow.
Kenny Lin suddenly winked at Amalia.
Amalia stared back at him expressionlessly, urging him to shut up and stop saying things that might provoke others.
Renshu Chang found an excuse for himself and reverted to being the enthusiastic Senior Brother Chang.
"Master Uncle doesn’t like outsiders on the Upper Nine Peaks. At his level of cultivation, he no longer needs mortal food, so there are no chores on the Upper Nine Peaks. Whatever you need to do, you’ll have to handle it by yourselves, including fetching water and cooking."
Both of their cultivations were not yet at the Golden Core stage, so Renshu Chang mentioned this.
"Where can we get water?" Amalia asked.
Renshu Chang explained, "There’s no water on the Upper Nine Peaks. Even if there were, it would have frozen into ice long ago. You can melt the snow to get water."
Amalia nodded, "One last question: Do we need to hold any kind of initiation ceremony?"
Renshu Chang smiled, "Master Uncle dislikes extravagance, but my Master does see it as meaningful. However, since Master Uncle hasn’t agreed, my Master can’t decide on his own. But reporting it is definitely required."
"Thank you, Senior Brother Chang. I don’t have any more questions for now."
"In that case, I won’t disturb you further. I’ll take my leave."
Renshu Chang didn’t linger any longer, bidding them farewell and descending the mountain on his own.
"These houses are really ugly."
Kenny Lin pushed open a room; inside, there was only a bed, a table, and a chair, and nothing else.
"If they didn’t make us sleep on the floor, you should be satisfied."
Amalia had slept in worse conditions before, and here they had everything they needed, which was already quite good.
The houses on the Upper Nine Peaks, except for a few thatched cottages, were all similar in size and layout.
There wasn’t much to choose from.
Amalia entered the house, and Kenny Lin followed closely behind.
"What are you doing?" Kenny Lin blinked, "Baby, you’re not trying to kick me out, are you? Remember, although we’re not married yet, we’ve already been verbally engaged."
Amalia’s mouth twitched,"Are you so quick to cast yourself in that role?" She reminded him, "This is your Master’s territory; we should behave."
"Even if my Master can controls heaven and earth, he still can’t decide my lifelong matters. Besides, are we doing anything out of line? Why should we behave? Do you want..." Kenny Lin slowly covered his chest.
Without a word, Amalia closed the door right in front of him.
Kenny Lin reached out to stop her, but with a snap, the door flew off its hinges.
After a moment of silence, he remarked, "...this door isn’t very sturdy."
Amalia sighed. "...I must owe you something in my previous life."
Little did they expect that the first thing they would do upon arriving at the Upper Nine Peaks was fixing a door.
