Chapter 181: Framing (Part 1)

Amalia nodded and smoothly shifted the topic, "I’d like to purchase some amulets, preferably advanced attack amulets. Any recommendations from your collection, Instructor Cornel?"

"Do you want some good advanced amulets? We just received a batch recently..." Instructor Cornel is well aware with Amalia’s wealth, so he unabashedly recommended her with the most expensive one.

Amalia quickly picked several impressive attack amulets, and did not hesitating to purchase most of them.

Almost every attribute was covered, and she also inquired about defensive and supportive amulets before leaving, and returned with fully loaded.

"If we had more students like Amalia, our Business Department wouldn’t have to worry about monthly performance," Instructor Cornel lamented.

"Even the most outstanding among the Yoder family feels intimidated. Do you treat someone like her as a cabbage?" Instructor Larson was very fond with Amalia, and especially impressed by the artifacts she refined.

After several days of study, he still couldn’t fathom how she managed to refine it.

The only conclusion was her exceptionally solid foundation.

No wonder Professor Frans also took notice of her.

The Yoder family’s attempt to avoid a repeat of Yesemia Yoder’s experience might just fall short.

On the eve of the exam, something big occurred in the artifact refining college.

"Do you know? The exam questions for the artifact refining test have been leaked."

"What? There hasn’t been any leak of exam questions in previous years. What’s going on?"

"Sorry, I misspoke. It’s not that the exam questions leaked; it’s that someone was caught stealing the questions. I heard a student was caught red-handed, and it seems the school leadership is quite angry, and promising for a thorough investigation."

"Why can’t they just take the exam properly? Why resort to stealing questions? Do you know who the person caught is?"

"I heard it was Bertrand Ramirez from the artifact refining class 3. He also implicated two others student. They were taken away from the classroom this morning. It’s quite serious, and possibly leading to severe consequences."

"Stealing exam questions is a big deal. Even if they aren’t expelled, it’ll go on their permanent record. An artificers with a tarnished reputation might find it hard to get hired anywhere, unless there’s some sort of breakthrough."

This was the second incident of attempted exam question theft at Heavenly Path University, the first reportedly happening fifty years ago.

The impact was quiet big, and leading to the expulsion of all involved students.

Despite such precedent, someone still dared to steal the exam questions.

Although they were caught before succeeding, the severity of the situation was evident.

Even students from other departments were also discussing the matter openly.

Amalia overheard a few conversations on her way, but since it didn’t concern her, she paid little attention to it.

Upon arriving at the artifact artifact refining classroom, two imposing instructors suddenly entered the class and approached her.

"Are you Amalia Vanquez?"

Amalia glanced at the instructors, one standing in front and one on her right, forming a flanking position, she then nodded, and replied, "Yes, I am."

"Come with us; there’s been a report of your involvement in the exam question theft," one of the instructors said in an extremely serious tone.

The classroom erupted in commotion as Amalia followed the two instructors outside.

"Oh my, didn’t she boast about surpassing Rasler Yoder and becoming the top figure in the artifact refining? What’s happening now?"

"Maybe she couldn’t live up to her words, so to avoid public embarrassment, she resorted to stealing the questions. I thought she actually had potential, turns out she’s just a bluff."

"If she’s bluffing, why would Professor Frans take notice of her? There must be a misunderstanding, right?" Not all students were staunch supporters of Rasler Yoder; some expressed doubt and raised questions.

"What misunderstanding? The instructors came themselves. It’s pretty clear. Either she’s the mastermind or a participant. Either way, she might not make it to tomorrow’s exam."

"It’s ridiculous! Do you think she’ll make excuses later, blaming the school for not allowing her to take the exam, claiming she’d definitely surpass Rasler Yoder?"

"Knowing her audacity, it’s highly likely. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Does anyone have updates on the current situation?" Everyone chimed in, and reluctant to end the conversation until the class bell rang.

Spotting Professor Frans entering the room, someone gathered courage to ask.

"Professor Frans, is Amalia really involved in stealing exam questions?"

"When you have time to gossiping about others, why not focus on tomorrow’s exam? You’re all students in the same class; I hope for be unite and br friendly rather than gossiping about others all day long. Besides, nothing’s been concluded yet. If you can’t control your tongues, it reflects poorly on yourselves!" Professor Frans’s tone was cold as he scanned the room.

As expected, everyone fell silent, and realizing asking Professor Frans was a wrong decision.

Meanwhile, Amalia who is being escorted by the two instructors, was taken to an empty room and handed over to a burly, and intimidating man with bulging muscles.

The instructors seems to have a great respect toward this man.

"Director Long, Amalia Vanquez is here. She’s in your hands now."

Hearing the name ’Director Long,’ Amalia’s eyes flickered.

There weren’t many people with the surname ’Long’ at Heavenly Path University.

She vaguely remembered an Instructor that highly admired by Javier Hermandez and others, it’s said to have the surname ’Long.’

She wonder if that person is the one before her?

Her composed demeanor prompted Guerrero Long to take a closer look at her.

He though that she would be intimidated like the other three people inside when she was brought to here.

"Do you know who I am?" Guerrero Long’s deep voice boomed, and resonating like a bell.

Amalia nodded, "I heard the instructors call you Director Long."

This man exuded an immense internal strength.

Even if he doesn’t release it deliberately, the sense of oppression naturally radiates from the inside out.

"You’re quite talkative. Since you know who I am, you should also know that lying to me won’t help; it’ll only hasten your breakdown. There’s no benefit in dishonesty, understood?" Guerrero Long thought she was being deliberately talkative.
