Chapter 180: It’s Not Exactly Rumor (Part 2)
Upon Rasler Yoder’s enrollment, the Yoder family placed their hopes on him, and Rasler Yoder did not disappoint the family head.
In this generation of the artifact refining, there was no artificer who could rival Rasler Yoder, so he easily became the top figure in the artifact refining college.
Rasler Yoder’s mission was to avoid a situation similar to what happened with Yesemia Yoder, preventing another Michael Wang from emerging among the lower-level students of the artifact refining college.
That’s why he showed unusual attention to Amalia upon her appearance.
"Don’t you think this is quite interesting?" Amalia suddenly remarked as she thought about this.
Both Xylia Lazaro and Javier Hermandez were momentarily puzzled, "What’s interesting?"
Why couldn’t they understand what she was saying?
"I never said I wanted to surpass Rasler Yoder and become the top figure in the artifact refining," Amalia said.
The two nodded vigorously.
The Amalia they knew was definitely not someone who sought attention unless others intentionally provoked her.
"However, rumors about this suddenly circulate within the artifact refining college. Any guesses as to who might be behind this?" Amalia asked, her eyes displaying unclear emotions.
Xylia Lazaro hesitated in her speculation, "Could it be someone from the weaponry departement?"
She was referring to Sebastian Caceres and Yannis Yoder.
They might seek revenge and could use Rasler Yoder to target Amalia; it wasn’t implausible.
"Yannis Yoder is from the Yoder family. If you caused him to drop out, he won’t be able to become a spirit cultivator in the future. He surely holds a grudge against you," Javier Hermandez supported Xylia Lazaro’s conjecture.
Amalia shook her head, "It’s not them. The rumors spread too quickly for them to be capable of doing this. Why don’t you think about who’s capable of doing this?"
The two glanced at each other and simultaneously exclaimed, "Rasler Yoder?"
"Damn, it’s really him!" Xylia Lazaro blurted out.
"But it doesn’t make sense. What benefit does he gain from this? Does your existence pose a threat to his position in the artifact refining?"
Amalia remained silent.
Silence can indeed be golden.
Xylia Lazaro cursed, "Damn, where did you come from, being so outstanding not only in skill but also in artifact refining talent that makes Rasler Yoder wary? Why didn’t you choose the artifact refining as your major from the beginning!"
Javier Hermandez swallowed his saliva nervously, he suddenly felt like Amalia stature had risen several feet, and becoming increasingly unattainable.
"Is Rasler Yoder planning to elevate you?"
"Isn’t that obvious? He definitely intends to elevate Amalia; otherwise, he wouldn’t spread such rumors," scoffed Xylia Lazaro.
He used to think Rasler Yoder was at least a decent person, but he turned out to be a cunning and despicable manipulator.
"Amalia, what’s your plan now?" Javier Hermandez worried about the consequences.
In case, just in case, something really happened, he feared it might have a significant impact on Amalia’s future as an artificer.
"Since he thinks I can surpass him, I mustn’t disappoint his expectations," Amalia chuckled softly.
Xylia Lazaro stared at her with a strange expression, and thinking to herself: This person... why does she look more and more attractive?
Even a smile from her felt oddly charming.
"Then, good luck to you. We’re from the weaponry departement and can’t assist much. You’ve been busy with matters at the artifact refining lately and probably haven’t had time to catch up on things at the weaponry departement," Xylia Lazaro squeezed past Javier Hermandez, and grinning widely.
Javier Hermandez cursed silently at his deviousness.
How shameless could this man be? Not a shred of subtlety.
"Are you referring to the new policy?" Amalia raised his elegant eyebrow, and her beautiful features were glowing.
"Yes, yes, you know about it! So, what’s your plan? Are you going to challenge Sebastian Caceres’s group? That man is really despicable; he hasn’t given up targeting you. I think you could deal him a fatal blow and show others the consequences of provoking you!" Xylia Lazaro’s expression turned sinister, and his selfish motives glaringly evident.
While Javier Hermandez scorned him for fulfilling his own selfish desires, he also wanted to know Amalia’s decision.
Many from Sebastian Caceres’s group knew about his good relationship with Amalia and often approached him for information.
However, unlike Xylia Lazaro, he found it hard to ask outright.
Amalia glanced deeply at them until they started feeling uneasy, and then turned around and walked towards the training room.
At the door, she said, "Are you afraid I’ll pick you?"
Xylia Lazaro forced a laugh, "Come on, at least we’ve met. I know you won’t choose me, but could you tell me who you’re considering?"
Javier Hermandez covered his embarrassed and flushed face.
"I can’t say. It’s not you guys anyway," Amalia replied before entering.
"How petty," mumbled Xylia Lazaro.
"Well, Amalia didn’t pick you; be content with that," Javier Hermandez was already quite satisfied.
Only two days remained until the artifact refining’s exam.
Amalia had been in the training room all this time.
No one knew she was practicing artifact refining inside, except for instructors Larson and Cornel from the school’s bussiness department, as she had sold another artifact to them.
The quality of this artifact was nearly identical to the last one.
In order to retain Amalia as a valued customer, they offered to purchase the artifact above the average prices.
"With highly talented students like Amalia, it’s no wonder some people feel threatened. But rest assured, this is a school. No matter how influential someone’s status is outside, within these walls, they’re merely students," Instructor Cornel suddenly spoke with profound meaning words when she was waiting for the transfer to be processed.
"Is Instructor Cornel also concerned about matters in the artifact refining college?" Amalia hadn’t expected for the news to reach the Business Department.
"This is a school," Instructor Cornel shook his head.
Amalia’s gaze deepened abruptly.
Does this mean everything that happend in the school’s cannot be hidden from the eyes of the school’s leader?
Thanking Instructor Cornel for the reminder, she said, "Thank you, Instructor."
Seeing her understanding, Cornel smiled warmly, "Be diligent, and work hard. I have high hopes for you."
