Chapter 182: Framing (Part 2)
"I understand now," Amalia replied calmly.
The two nearby men couldn’t help but suppress a smirk.
Guerrero Long snorted, "Take her in."
In the room, there was another enclosed space with three students in it.
They are the ones who were involved in the exam question theft.
Guerrero Long brought Amalia before them for confrontation.
"It’s her!" The young man in the middle, with his red and teary eyes looked at Amalia with instant animosity.
"If it weren’t for her instigation, we wouldn’t have thought of stealing exam questions. It’s all because of her! We were just foolish for a moment. Professor, please give us another chance; we promise we won’t dare again. We’ll strictly follow the school’s instructions in the future!"
"Yes, yes, we were misled by her. We didn’t actually want to steal exam questions," the other two, who seemingly awakened by his fervor, chimed in.
The evidence seemed to point to Amalia.
Guerrero Lobg nodded and turned his head to Amalia, "What do you have to say?"
"Professor Frans also once urged me to sneak into the Dean’s office to steal exam questions," faced with Guerrero Long’s oppressive gaze, Amalia said calmly.
"Nonsense!" even before Guerrero Long could respond, the school staff rebuked her, "Professor Frans couldn’t possibly say such a thing. What evidence do you have to prove it? Besides, the exam questions weren’t even in the Dean’s office."
Amalia shrugged, "There is no evidence, and where the exam questions located are was just a guess; I don’t know for sure. It was just something I said off the cuff."
The school staff frowned, and seemingly dissatisfied with her unserious attitude.
They about to continue reprimanding her when Guerrero Long intervened, "You’re very clever. The school wouldn’t unjustly accuse someone just based on a few accusations. Your presence here is just for confrontation."
Guerrero Long’s aura was calm anf thick, and his eyes now held a hint of admiration as he gazed steadily at Amalia’s eyes.
"Thank you, Director Long," Amalia expressed her gratitude, and she knew that this matter was not small matter.
If the Instructor who responsible for investigating the stolen exam questions had initially pressured her with power and status, she’d likely face difficulties.
"Did you hear that?" Guerrero Long’s piercing gaze shifted to Bertrand Ramirez and the other two student.
His scrutinizing look carrying deep intimidation, making them to sweat and lose all the blood from their face.
"I’ll ask you one last time, was it her who instructed you from behind? Think carefully before speaking. Otherwise, if the truth contradicts with your words, the consequences won’t be bearable for three ordinary students like you," Guerrero Long was evidently adept at breaking down the students’ psychological defenses, and the two studrnt who being brought in later were already in tears.
"We confess, we confess. It wasn’t Amalia who urged us."
"But we also don’t know who it was; the plan was all from Bertrand Ramirez’s instructions."
They were just ordinary people; last night, after learning about Bertrand Ramirez’s arrest, they spent the whole night terrified, and unable to sleep.
They’re even wetting their pants when they were brought here in the morning.
"Since you don’t know who it is, how can you be sure it wasn’t Amalia who instigated you?" Guerrero Long had paying no attention to Bertrand Ramirez’s pale face.
He took a step forward with a forceful and imposing figure, like a towering mountain in front of the three, causing the space around suddenly felt constricted, and the air becoming thinner.
One person who was feeling overwhelmed, unable to speak due to the overwhelming fear, and fainting on the spot.
The other person could bear it a little better, but he was also very frightened and could not explain clearly.
In essence, Bertrand Ramirez mentioned that if things were exposed, he’d shift all the blame onto Amalia.
Bertrand Ramirez deceived them, and claiming that if they revealed the mastermind behind the scenes, their punishment would be significantly reduced.
The two of them weren’t very clear about the plan after being exposed; it was all instructions from Bertrand Ramirez.
Bertrand Ramirez’s intention was to prevent them from knowing too much, and fearing they might spill the beans.
Ironically, this became their breakthrough - knowing nothing actually made their credibility stronger.
"Take both of them down," Guerrero Long’s outward aggression instantly diminished a bit as he instructed the staff.
The staff had already conceded; indeed, the interrogation was better left to Director Long.
So far, they hadn’t encountered anyone who could withstand Director Long’s interrogation.
They didn’t know, but they’d soon be proven wrong.
Bertrand Ramirez’s lips were as pale as paper.
He felt no less than the other two because Guerrero Long’s real target was him.
His two accomplices were just additions, but their psychological defenses were weak, they are already crumbling before it reached him.
"Do you want to confess on your own, or should I make you?" Guerrero Long somewhat admired his mental resilience, he could enduring his pressure better than the other two.
Bertrand Ramirez’s eyes flickered with a struggling fire, which slowly extinguished.
"I confess!" he exhaled and looking lifeless.
"In the matter of stealing exam questions, there was no mastermind behind the scenes. I planned everything alone."
Guerrero Long raised an eyebrow, "I underestimated you. You still holding your ground."
"I’m not holding my ground, it’s the truth!" Bertrand Ramirez continued to defend.
Amalia was also a bit surprised; at this point, she thought Bertrand Ramirez would have confessed.
Instead, he took all the blame upon himself.
The final outcome would only be worse by taking sole responsibility.
He should have understood that logic.
"Then who made you frame me?"
Bertrand Ramirez didn’t fall for it.
After a moment of silence, he said, "No one ask me to frame you. It was my own idea. Your public feud with Rasler Yoder made it an excellent choice to shift the blame onto you. Also, your victory over Sebastian Caceres in the last confrontation - he’s my idol, and I wanted to retaliate through this."
