Chapter 1226: The Unseen Power

Some star systems resisted; others complied.

They had anticipated reactions from most of the star systems—except for Erythar.

"That man is indeed arrogant."

"Can you tell how powerful his cultivation is?"

"His cultivation is strong, but through a screen, it’s hard to determine the exact level."

"Find a way to interact with him later—test his cultivation."

"And what if he’s strong?" A man sneered arrogantly. "Now that he’s in the Pleiades Star System, whether he’s a dragon or a worm, he’ll have to bow to us."

"I’m more curious about what he just said," another young man said with a grin, reclining in his chair with one leg crossed over the other. "Our machines were specifically designed to detect spatial storage used by cultivators. Even if they have space-type items, escaping the scan should be nearly impossible."

He wasn’t joking.

When envoys from other star systems had arrived before, they had all undergone the same scan—many had been caught on the spot.

With such precedents, they had every reason to be confident.

Someone immediately let out a cold laugh, waiting to see the Erythar Star System humiliated.

"It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last. There’s nothing interesting to watch anymore—the outcome is already set in stone." One man stood up, already losing interest.

The young man in the chair chuckled. "It won’t take long. Why not watch a little longer? Besides, aren’t you curious? A backward star system like Erythar Star System somehow produced a high-level cultivator. Who knows what kind of treasures they’re hiding in their spatial storage?"

That final remark successfully made the man stop in his tracks.

He was right.

The scanning machines weren’t just simple scanners.

Officially, they were said to detect high-powered weapons, but the exact method of detection was never disclosed.

The Pleiades Star System wouldn’t reveal such information, and other star system envoys wouldn’t ask.

They understood that this was the true core technology—only a fool would expose it.

And it was precisely because of this that the Pleiades Star System could openly play their game, using the excuse of scanning for dangerous weapons to justify searching everyone’s spatial storage.

In the eyes of those present, spatial storage operated on the principle of space folding.

As long as this principle was understood, cracking it wouldn’t be difficult.

The man who had stood up sat back down, and all eyes in the conference room remained fixed on the screen.

At that moment, a pair of cold, hawk-like eyes seemed to pierce through the screen.

Kenny Lin’s gaze locked onto them, and the corners of his lips slowly curled into a smirk.

Immediately, several people felt their scalps tingle, their backs breaking out in cold sweat.

A mere stare shouldn’t have been enough to unsettle them, but this was different.

Those eyes carried a pressure that transcended distance, making them feel as though they were being stared down by an ancient, primordial beast.

A second or two later, the gaze shifted away, as if it had been nothing more than a casual glance.

Everyone in the room knew—he had discovered them watching.

Soon, it was Kenny Lin’s turn for inspection.

The results from the scanning machine were transmitted directly to their screen.

The outcome was shocking—the machine detected nothing on him.

What they could see with the naked eye was all there was.

"This is impossible!" the young man blurted out in disbelief.

How could a cultivator have absolutely nothing on him?

Even a three-year-old wouldn’t believe that.

He felt as if an invisible force was slapping him across the face—along with everyone else who had assumed the outcome was set in stone.

"I remember Master Blair once said that even the most advanced spatial storage couldn’t escape this machine’s detection unless..." An older man suddenly paused.

"Unless what?" the others pressed.

"Unless this person possesses mutated mental power. It is said that mutated mental power can evade all machine tracking and conceal any presence entirely."

Ordinary mental power could achieve some level of concealment, but not absolute invisibility.

That was precisely why this machine was designed to counter it.

Unfortunately, they didn’t realize that "mutated mental power" was actually divine sense.

The cultivation system in this part of the universe—just like on Earth—was incomplete, for this was never truly a world of cultivation.

Inside the scanning hall, Miralles and his team had clearly grasped the situation.

If the machine truly detected nothing, did that mean the people from the Erythar Star System carried no high-powered weapons?

Even without Kenny Lin’s words, they found that hard to believe.

Once all the members of the Erythar Star System had passed the inspection, Miralles stood in place, momentarily caught between advancing and retreating.

"Mr. Envoy, are you not leaving?" Minister Sharif asked with a smile.

"If they found nothing, how can we just leave? If they don’t uncover something, how will they assert the Pleiades Star System’s dominance? Their next step will either be to take us in for further questioning or to find another excuse to scan us again."

General Rafiq burst into laughter, making no effort to conceal his derision.

"There’s another option," Kenny Lin added with a mischievous smile, as if eager to stir up trouble.

"Oh? What option is that, Mr. Kenny?" General Rafiq played along immediately.

"We turn around and leave."

General Rafiq smacked his forehead as if struck by sudden realization. "That’s right! We can just leave. Let them go in alone. If anyone has a problem, they can blame the Pleiades Star System for its poor hospitality. I’m sure the other star systems would understand our predicament."

"Let them in," a cold voice suddenly rang in Miralles’s ear.

Miralles let out a wry smile—if only they had said this earlier.

Since the Erythar Star System could fool the scanners once, they could do it twice, thrice, or even four times.

But without an official command, he hadn’t dared to make the call himself.

"Esteemed envoys, you jest. Since you’ve passed the inspection, there will be no second check. We stand by our word. Now, please follow me."
