Chapter 1125: The Mystery of Shadron
Chapter 1125: The Mystery of Shadron
The more apparent the social hierarchy in alien society, the greater the conflicts.
Stirring up their disputes isn’t difficult.
Amalia quietly noted everything she saw and followed Aelra’s group and finally arriving at the outside of the control room.
Soon, an alien came out to open the door.
The control room of the cosmic battleship wasn’t exceptionally large.
The corridor outside was only two meters wide, which wasn’t very spacious compared to the other corridors that were five meters wide.
Who would have thought that behind this small door, there would be a large control room the size of two football fields?
As the door opened, a noisy sound surged in.
Amalia glanced around briefly.
There was only one control room, yet it contained at least a thousand aliens, each performing their tasks in an orderly manner.
After walking about a hundred meters, they reached the center of the control room, in front of a massive spherical screen.
It displayed a universe, though the mystery and vastness of the universe couldn’t truly be captured by a screen.
"General," an alien named Crynix greeted them, "I was just about to look for you. Shadron is gone."
"Gone? What does that mean?" Aelra had anticipated something like this, but he hadn’t expected it to be like this.
Crynix led everyone to the spherical screen and zoomed in on Shadron’s coordinates.
"This is Shadron’s coordinates. We’re certain we haven’t made a mistake, yet we can’t find Shadron anywhere. There are usually two explanations for this kind of result: one, Shadron has been destroyed and vanished from this universe, and two, someone used some method to move Shadron."
"Absurd," Zorik immediately cursed, "If humans from the Andromeda Universe had this kind of ability, they wouldn’t have been forced to abandon so many planets over the past year. If someone really has the ability to move Shadron, why would they move a useless planet? Could it be just for the garbage humans on it? A single mech squad could easily wipe them out."
"Actually, it’s been proven that not only can a single mech squad not destroy them, even a mech army of tens of thousands can’t." Crynix calmly replied.
Zorik’s eyes flashed with anger.
Aelra interjected, "Alright, it’s indeed highly likely that Shadron has been destroyed, but how the humans destroyed it, what force they used to destroy it, and how Lorrik’s ship disappeared and reappeared—these are the issues we need to solve at this stage."
"Then may I ask, General, how should we resolve this? Right now, the enemy is in the dark, and we are in the light. Shadron can’t be found, there’s no one on the ship, and where have the humans on the planet gone? Are they still alive?"
Aelra shot a glance at Zorik, who had been questioning nonstop. "From your words, it seems you have other ideas?"
"I wouldn’t call them ideas, General," Zorik sneered, "I wouldn’t dare have ideas in front of you. I just don’t think humans could possess this kind of ability."
Aelra nodded his head and turned to Crynix. "Have people search the area around Shadron’s coordinates. If the humans really escaped from the planet, they shouldn’t have gone far within a day."
"I think so too, General, so I’ve already ordered everyone to start searching," Crynix replied.
At this point, Zorik raised another objection. "General, we can’t spend all our time looking for the humans on Shadron. Shouldn’t we start executing our plan?"
Amalia subtly moved, wondering what these aliens’ plans against humanity could be.
"This matter will be discussed later," Aelra said, then left the control room.
Back in the meeting room, Amalia pretended to leave.
Noryn never entered the room before, which meant that it was not a place he could freely access.
If she followed him inside, it wouldn’t align with Noryn’s character.
"Noryn, you come in too." Aelra suddenly called out to Amalia.
Amalia turned back, already walking into the room.
"Noryn, it seems General Aelra really favors you." Zorik, who hadn’t entered yet, said with a half-smile.
Amalia glanced at him but didn’t say anything as she walked inside.
Zorik’s face immediately darkened, and he became increasingly irritated.
A mere mech squad captain dared to give him attitude?
General Aelra was really showing him too much favoritism.
Thinking this, he also felt a little bit displeased with Xevra.
Both of them were under the same superior, but how could Xevra be so clueless?
Given the situation, why hadn’t he shown up yet?
What Zorik didn’t know was that Kenny Lin, wearing Xevra’s identity, was casually wandering around the cosmic battleship, occasionally using his divine sense to eavesdrop on secrets and gossip.
After a while, he had familiarized himself with most areas of the battleship.
Of course, this mainly referred to the places his current identity could access.
Even though he was the captain of a mech army of tens of thousands, there were still some places he couldn’t intrude on just yet.
However, with his powerful divine sense, no high walls or thick metal could stop him.
"Xevra, what are you doing here?" Koryn just came up from an underground passage and saw Kenny Lin standing above, frowning.
Kenny Lin found this person’s identity from Xevra’s memory.
He was also the captain of a mech squad, but he had some conflicts with Xevra.
Because their commanding officers were different, internal conflicts among the aliens were severe.
Disagreements were common when both sides were equally strong.
"Just go down and take a look," Kenny Lin said while leaning against the wall with an arrogant expression.
Koryn looked at Xevra before him, feeling a strange sense of unease.
Xevra’s expression was identical to his usual self—indifferent, as if rarely taking anyone seriously.
His eyes lacked warmth, and his nose seemed to carry an air of disdain.
The same outward attitude as always, yet Koryn couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
He couldn’t fathom how Xevra could have been killed aboard a cosmic battleship, let alone imagine that the Xevra before him was actually a human in disguise.
