Chapter 101: Zanilia Zhao (Part 1)

Amalia could even see his nose hairs before she was pulled aside by her mother.

"Ignore your dad. Has Arthur caused you any trouble again?" Her mother’s elegant face revealed a hint of concern.

Amalia took a deep breath, "No, I’ll come home tonight."

Her mother’s eyes brightened slightly, and nodding eagerly, "Alright, alright. Mom will cook and wait for you. Are you staying here tonight?"

Amalia nodded slightly.

Her mother’s eyes were now beaming. In Amalia’s memory, this decisive and strong woman only revealed her feminine side when facing her daughter and husband.

"Honey, honey, let me talk to our kid!" Her father was bouncing around like a child behind her mother.

"What’s the rush? Your daughter is coming back tonight, there’s plenty of time to talk."

Her mother scolded her father, who looked very aggrieved, and then turned her head with a smiling face, "Daughter, you go ahead, we’ll wait for you tonight."

Amalia smiled as she watched the screen disappear.

Back in her apartment, Kenny Lin hadn’t returned yet.

There wasn’t much for her to pack, but before leaving, she left a note for Kenny Lin.

Night fell.

In the eastern suburbs of Big Apple City, an almost one-sided battle was fiercely underway.

"We can’t do this anymore! This guy is too powerful! We’ve been attacking him for so long, and he’s completely unharmed!"

The green-haired youth wiped the blood from his mouth, and retreating while a mix of terror and horror were filled his eyes.

"Don’t slack off! We can’t let him get into the city area. If the people from above blame us because of this, we’ll all be in trouble," Cruz’s chest was shocked from the impact.

The other members were also injured, they know they couldn’t win but they still had to fight.

"Cruz, when is our backup arriving? This monster is definitely out of our league. If we continue like this, we’ll all be sacrificed," The green-haired youth lamented pitifully.

The monster in front of them stood over three meters tall, resembled a ball all over with soft limbs. While its body seemed easy to handle, it possessed a strong resilience.

Not only were conventional weapons ineffective against it, but even standard artifacts only left white marks on its body, indicating it threat level was at least of a blue level or above.

On Earth, monster levels were categorized by the depth of colors: yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, red, and black.

For a mere city like Big Apple City to have a blue-level monster was very abnormal. It was no wonder they couldn’t defeat it and had to request external aid.

"I’ve already requested from higher-ups. I don’t know when they’ll arrive. Let’s hope..." Cruz gritted his teeth.

Before he could finish speaking, a chilling light suddenly tore through the sky and landed on the seemingly invincible monster.

The monster screeched sharply, and the air rippled as if struck by waves.

The eardrums of Cruz and the others nearly burst. This was one of the monster’s attack moves, a sonic attack. Unless one covered their ears with spiritual energy, it might not even be effective.

Luckily, the monster’s screeching was quick to come and go.

When Cruz looked closer, he finally saw what had happened. The soft body of the monster had been sliced open, leaving a long and gory wound, bleeding profusely.

"Zanilia Zhao?" Cruz turned his head and instantly astonished when he saw the newcomer.

Zanilia Zhao, a once-in-a-millennium genius from the Zhao family, she had gained worldwide renown at a young age. There is countless demon cultivator and monster that had been died at her hands, earning her the reputation of a notorious slayer.

Unexpectedly, the rescuer called in by the organization was her.

Everyone present had heard of Zanilia Zhao name. Instantly, joyous expressions appeared on their faces.

They were finally saved.

The monster was clearly very intelligent, when it noticed a more powerful figure had arrived, it was attempted to flee.

Since Zanilia Zhao had arrived, she had no intention of letting the monster escape.

The sword in her hand was an advanced level artifact, that was equipped with a thunder amulet. With one strike, lightning streaked across the sky, and illuminating the world as if it were daytime.

The immense thunderous sound struck the monster, and instantly scorching its wound, causing it to wail and collapse.

The ground shook violently, almost like an earthquake, making it difficult for the green-haired youth to maintain balance.

Cruz made sure the monster was dead before approaching Zanilia Zhao, and bowing in gratitude. "Thank you, Ms. Zhao. Without your help, we’d be in serious trouble. If this monster had reached the city area, many more residents would have died."

Zanilia Zhao waved her hand dismissively, "No need to thank me. I’m just doing something that other entrusted to me."

She furrowed her brow, and said: "But how did this deep-sea monster manage to get here? Even though Big Apple City is a coastal city is impossible for a monster of this size to entering the city without noticing anyone."

"At present, we’re not sure. It caused a commotion in the city yesterday and even collapsing the Prism Tower building. But when we mobilized, it disappeared. It was only today that we found its trace here," Cruz explained.

"This matter must be investigated. Otherwise, if the same thing happens again in the future, not only Big Apple City but other cities might also face disaster," Zanilia Zhao said calmly.

"Yes, we’ll start investigating immediately."

"Phew, that was exhausting! You ran so fast; at least wait for me," As soon as Cruz finished his speak, a panting young man ran over and complained to Zanilia Zhao.

"Wait for you? Then the deep-sea monster would be ran away long ago," Zanilia Zhao remarked nonchalantly.

The young man approached the dead monster, and kicking it lightly with his toe. "Wow, it’s quite big. How did it end up on the shore?"

Cruz looked embarrassed.
