Chapter 102: Zanilia Zhao (Part 2)
They also still didn’t know why, but fortunately, the young man wasn’t asking them.
He quickly changed the subject.
"Such a strong demonic aura. This should be a demonic creature above the blue level or below the purple level," the young man commented.
Everyone was stunned. Wasn’t this the deep-sea monster? Why was it referred to as a demonic creature now?
"Correct, it should be a demonic creature," Zanilia Zhao agreed and surprising everyone.
Cruz’s face turned pale.
Demonic creatures usually fell into two categories: those without a master, which rarely appeared in cities that predominantly inhabited by humans, and those with masters, which is controlled by someone.
In order to control an intelligent demonic creature meant the controller possessed significant power; otherwise, it was challenging to subdue them.
"Ms. Zhao, is there a demon cultivator who controlling this demonic creature?" Cruz almost bit his tongue.
If that were the case, unless they killed The demon cultivator, similar incidents might keep occurring.
"Eight or nine chances out of ten," Zanilia Zhao’s words left Cruz feeling desperate.
"What should we do? Should we find the demon cultivator?" Cruz hurriedly asked.
The young man chattered, "It’s been a while since all the demonic creature died. When the demon cultivator sees my Sister Zhao coming, they’d have fled already. Where could we find him?"
Cruz slumped, feeling powerless.
Zanilia Zhao gazed at the heavy clouds in the distance, unaware that the so-called "Demon Cultivator" they spoke of was sprinting in that direction.
The demon cultivator sensed something was amiss after their demonic creature died. Immediately, he turned around and ran away. When he realize that no one was pursuing them, he knew they hadn’t been discovered yet and so he began to slowed down.
Suddenly, a figure emerged in front of him. The demon cultivator didn’t notice him at first, because he was wearing a black clothes, black trousers, and a hat that covered his face. It was not until a wisp of black smoke leaked out, and alerting him to a presence in the darkness.
"Who’s there?" The demon cultivator halted, and staring warily at the shadow in the dark.
Kenny Lin emerged from the darkness, his slender index finger tipping the brim of his hat, revealing a pair of eyes that as black as an ink.
Only when he looked closer did he realize that there was a strong ominous gleam in them. He said coldly, "It’s your granddaddy."
The demon cultivator spat blood, "Damn you! We’re all colleagues in this business. Is it necessary to cause trouble for each other? Let me go, and we’ll meet again in the future."
The demon cultivator mistook the black smoke around Kenny Lin as demonic aura, although there was a resemblance.
"Who told you we’re in the same business? Will you end it by yourself or shall I help you?" Kenny Lin smirked, and the black smoke under his feet increased.
The demon cultivator finally realized something was off. It wasn’t demonic aura but a different kind of eerie black smoke.
"Something’s wrong. Who are you?"
As Kenny Lin approached, the black smoke start to expanded towards the demon cultivator.
When he realize the gravity of the situation, the demon cultivator began released several demonic creature. As the demonic creature sprinted forward, the saliva that flying around and dripping on the ground start to corroding the ground upon impact and, leaving behind holes.
However, when these demons touched the black smoke, they displayed a terrified expression as if encountering a natural enemy.
The black smoke wrapped around their limbs, and draining their life force relentlessly.
Their robust forms turned into mere skeletons in no time.
The demon cultivator fell to the ground, and finally recognizing the identity of this person.
The nemesis of all demon cultivators, every time he appeared, it seemed that he solely designed to hunt them down. Be it cultivators or demonic creature, none of them could escape his grasp. But nobody knew where he came from.
Zanilia Zhao and the young man arrived at the scene, and the only thing they found is the scattered bones on the ground.
"I can’t believe someone actually one step a head of us," the young man exclaimed in disbelief.
Zanilia Zhao squatted down to inspect, "His vitality has been drained, and he was completely lifeless."
"Wow, this method doesn’t seem like something from the righteous path; it’s more like the work of a demon cultivator," the young man remarked, baring his teeth while his eyes turned cold, showing a clear disdain for demon cultivators.
"It does seem that way, but without witnessing it firsthand, it’s hard to say. It’s possible the other party used some artifact to cause this," Zanilia Zhao replied without lifting her head.
The young man grinned, "What kind of artifact could cause this situation? I’ve never seen anything like it."
"Can’t you sense it? We arrived here very quickly; if two demon cultivators were fighting here, there should be residual demonic energy from the other one nearby. But now, there is only one residual demonic energy here, can you feel a second wave of demonic energy?" Zanilia Zhao remained skeptical.
The young man’s expression froze; indeed, he couldn’t sense a second wave of demonic energy.
"Even if it’s not a demon cultivator, someone who capable of using such methods isn’t a good person," he snorted coldly.
Shaking her head, Zanilia Zhao fell silent.
Kenny Lin returned to the apartment. He was expecting Amalia to be there, but it was empty. Despite he purposely cleaning off the scent of blood from his body, Amalia wasn’t around, eliciting a slight smirk from him.
A few seconds later, he found a note left by Amalia on the table in the living room. It mentioned that she wouldn’t be back for the next two days but didn’t specify mentioned her whereabouts.
Kenny Lin solemnly tucked away the note, took out the last milk candy from his pocket, and watched the darkness fade away slowly from his eyes.
