Chapter 1003: The Race to the Immortal Spring (Part 1)

"How is it?" Amalia immediately asked.

"Not good."

Amalia furrowed her brow at the response. "Looks like we’ll have to place our hopes in the Immortal Spring."

"Whatever happens, happens. Sooner or later, it will be repaired," Kenny Lin said with a calm expression.

Amalia stood up and scanned the room. She noticed that 90% of the people had already left, and the ones still present were all from Green Lotus Sect.

"They’re all gone."

Hearing this, Seongwoo Jin chuckled. "The Immortal Spring has opened. How could they not be anxious? Who still has the heart to guard these two doors? Once they’re breached, we won’t be able to hold them anyway."

Amalia walked up to the door, which had a faint translucent barrier. She touched it lightly, and the barrier rippled, like the surface of a calm lake.

"It’s a barrier. The Heavenly Hall and Earthly Hall are separated by a formation barrier."

"We’ve been studying this for the past two days, and it seems that this barrier is the main reason why the Body Integration stage wandering spirits can’t cross over."

Renshu Chang stepped up beside her and spoke.

Amalia nodded slightly. "We should also head to the Immortal Spring. The wandering spirits are probably about to break through the barrier."

She noticed the barrier’s fluctuations growing more intense, indicating someone was attacking or targeting it.

"What are we waiting for? Let’s go!" Jinhwa Hou said decisively.

They couldn’t afford to waste time. If they didn’t find the Immortal Spring, they’d end up running into wandering spirits.

They’d already delayed enough, and the spiritual energy in the Heavenly Hall had grown unnaturally dense.

When they followed the markers left by the senior disciples and reached their destination, they finally saw the unusual scene.

The Heavenly Hall was an enormous structure, standing as if it were a powerful force between heaven and earth. In front of the various halls was a vast plaza.

The plaza was paved entirely with white jade, stretching endlessly in all directions. Even though it was somewhat damaged, the remnants of its once grandiose and magnificent scale were still visible.

"When did this plaza appear here?" No one seemed to have any memory of it.

"I see now. We’ve all been deceived by the illusion array here."

In truth, the Heavenly Hall was situated beneath a vast expanse of sky, facing the heavens and not an enclosed space. The immortals, in order to conceal the Immortal Spring, had hidden it with a formation barrier. The effect of this barrier was what caused the internal structure of the Heavenly Hall to change periodically.

The spiritual energy in the Heavenly Hall was now emanating from the plaza. Standing high in the pavilion, they couldn’t see the plaza clearly, as a thick fog always obscured their vision.

A few figures had already rushed forward impatiently—it was Temujin Lei and his group.

The others were not far behind, their minds full of thoughts about immortal techniques and treasures, their eyes bloodshot with anticipation.

The next moment, the person at the front suddenly fell from the air, crashing down.

"What’s going on? It seems like we can’t fly in this plaza," Temujin Lei said, shock written all over his face.

"It looks like the plaza has restrictions. We can only walk through it," Mino Pei lifted his legs, only to find them feeling heavy. It seemed there was some kind of gravity here. His expression darkened immediately.

Behind them, the people from the other sects had gradually caught up.

Seeing what had happened to Temujin Lei and his group, those who had been afraid of being outpaced now relaxed and didn’t feel the need to hurry anymore.

"So, what’s the point of running fast? All it does is make you a scout for others," Seongwoo Jin said loudly on purpose.

Several people’s faces darkened.

"Enough talk, let’s move too. Let’s see what this so-called Immortal Spring is and if there are any treasures," Jinhwa Hou said as he hooked his arm around Seongwoo Jin’s shoulder.

"This must be a test set by the Immortal Spring. Everyone, stay alert, and try to last as long as you can," Jirandal Tang said to his fellow disciples.

Kenny Lin looked ahead towards the depths of the plaza. "This Immortal Spring is really interesting. Even after all this time, there’s still such dense energy here."

Amalia took a deep breath. "Such rich spiritual energy... Why would a lost battlefield have such a place?"

She was genuinely curious. With such powerful forces in existence, why had the battle between the immortals ended in disaster?

As she was speaking, a loud bang suddenly came from the direction of the Heavenly Hall. Waves of ripples spread through the air, as if something had shaken the very atmosphere.

"It’s the wandering spirits! They’re coming! We need to move fast!"

Everyone immediately started running.

The gravity in the plaza seemed to increase progressively. The deeper they went, the more oppressive the sensation became. Towards the end, there were hardly any who were still running; most had slowed to a walk.

The person at the very front was Temujin Lei, supported by a solid foundation, and he maintained the fastest pace.

Finally, he saw something in the distance growing clearer, but before he could feel any excitement, two figures overtook him one after the other.

Upon recognizing who the figures were, Temujin Lei’s forehead darkened with a cloud of anger, his eyes narrowing as he glared at them.

It was Kenny Lin and Amalia—once again, it was them!

When the dense fog no longer obscured their vision, the group finally saw what the Immortal Spring truly was.

The so-called Immortal Spring was actually sealed within a fragment of the void.

Amalia glanced sideways at Temujin Lei, who was unwilling to fall behind and had quickened his pace to catch up. Without hesitation, she increased her own speed.

Even though everyone was pushing themselves to their limits, to those who had yet to step onto the plaza, their movements appeared laughably slow, like snails carrying heavy shells.
