Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Dirty

Although it was subtle, Sylvia Lane still caught it.

With a flash of inspiration, her figure suddenly swayed, and she lunged toward Lucas Shaw.

"Ah, Brother Lucas..."

Lucas Shaw frowned and hastily took two steps back, trying to avoid Sylvia Lane’s hand.

However, Sylvia Lane quickly and deftly grabbed his suit.

Her soft body crashed into his embrace.

Just then, Serena Summers walked in from outside.

She entered the door just in time to see this scene.

A flash of panic crossed Lucas Shaw’s eyes, and he forcefully pushed Sylvia Lane to the ground.

"Serena, it’s not what you think."

Serena’s cold gaze swept across Lucas Shaw’s suit, her expression dark.

Sylvia Lane stumbled and suddenly fell to the ground.

A dull thud sounded, causing her to furrow her brows in pain.

Tears whirled crazily in her eyes as Sylvia Lane pitifully looked up at Lucas Shaw.

"Brother Lucas..."

"Shut up! Who is your brother? Are we close?" Lucas Shaw shouted sternly.

A look of grievance instantly froze on her face, leaving Sylvia Lane unsure of how to react.

She stared in disbelief.

How could he be so heartless?

Sylvia Lane had always prided herself on her enchanting looks and seductive figure, believing she could captivate countless men with a mere smile or frown.

She thought Lucas Shaw would be entranced by her just like those men if she simply beckoned him.

Yet, whether it was three years ago or today, three years later, Lucas Shaw remained unmoved and extremely indifferent.

If she hadn’t seen his tender side, Sylvia Lane would have thought this man was made of ice.

But his tenderness was reserved for only Serena Summers.

But why?

Sylvia Lane felt she was no less than Serena Summers, whether in looks or background.

Why could Liam Shaw shower Serena Summers with affection yet be so cold towards her?

Confronted with Serena’s chilly eyes, humiliation and resentment suddenly surged in Sylvia’s heart.

She forced herself to stand up from the ground, squeezing out a faint smile.

"Little sister Serena, please don’t be mad, it wasn’t intentional! I just lost my balance and accidentally fell, Brother Lucas was just trying to help me up. I hope you don’t misunderstand."

Serena raised an eyebrow.

Knowing Lucas Shaw as she did, he certainly wasn’t the type to kindly help Sylvia Lane.

She pretended to understand and nodded lightly, "So that’s what happened. Miss Lane, are you injured?"

Sylvia Lane paused, not understanding, and responded, "No, what do you mean?"

With a slight squint of her eyes, Serena took a set of silver needles from her bag.

"Miss Lane fell flat on the ground without being injured; perhaps there’s a serious illness. Would you like me to check your pulse and apply a couple of needles?" Serena’s lips curved with a smile, her eyes twinkling with a helpful demeanor.

Only Lucas Shaw noticed the cunning flash in her eyes.

He shook his head helplessly, his eyes full of tenderness and indulgence.

This little girl, probably cooking up some big plan.

He truly loved this cunning yet clever demeanor of Serena.

Sylvia Lane never expected Serena to directly take out a set of silver needles.

She had thought Serena would swallow the bitter pill quietly, but she wasn’t playing by the rules.

The silver needles, thin and long, shimmered with a cold light under the lamp.

They looked particularly chilling.

Sylvia Lane shivered violently, barely maintaining her smile.

"No, no need. I’m not ill."

"With the way you look, it doesn’t seem like you’re not sick. Miss Lane, you are a guest of the Shaw Family. If something is wrong with your health, it would reflect poorly on our hospitality. Let me help you check." Serena’s eyes and brows curved, her face wearing a charming smile.

She looked tender and appealing, yet exceptionally harmless.

However, Sylvia Lane only felt a chill run through her body.

Her heart trembled fiercely, and she immediately said, "I just remembered I still have something to do, I have to go."

After speaking, she left without turning back.

Watching her flee in a panic, Serena Summers couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Yet her eyes were cold and sharp.

Daring to covet her man, really asking for trouble.

Serena lowered her eyes, picked up the silver needle, and put it back into her bag, then calmly looked towards Lucas Shaw.

"Mr. Shaw, aren’t you going to explain? I was only gone for a few hours, and your admirers have already come looking for you."

"It’s not what it looks like," Lucas Shaw explained, furrowing his brows.

"They were throwing themselves at you, how passionate," Serena hummed lightly, her lips pouting unhappily.

Lucas Shaw’s eyes flickered, and he immediately walked up to Serena.

He reached out to pull her into his embrace.

However, Serena suddenly stepped back, avoiding his hands.

Lucas Shaw’s outstretched hand froze mid-air, a flicker of astonishment crossing his eyes.

"Serena?"

Serena ignored him and turned into the bathroom instead.

Lucas Shaw stood there, puzzled.

After about half a minute, Serena came out of the bathroom, now wearing a pair of gloves.

A look of confusion flickered through Lucas Shaw’s eyes.

Serena stood in front of Lucas Shaw.

Under his puzzled gaze, she slowly reached out and began removing his coat.

Her face was full of disgust.

"It’s dirty."

Serena’s cold gaze swept over Lucas Shaw, and suddenly, a sense of grievance flashed through her heart.

She realized her possessiveness over Lucas Shaw was getting stronger.

The moment she saw Sylvia Lane throwing herself at Lucas Shaw, Serena felt a murderous rage.

She lowered her eyes, hiding the icy coldness, and threw the suit jacket forcefully onto the ground.

Lucas Shaw paused, then let out a helpless chuckle.

"Serena, are you jealous?"

"Yes, is that not allowed?" Serena’s face was puffing up, resembling an upset pufferfish.

Lucas Shaw found her incredibly cute and endearing at that moment.

"I didn’t help her; she threw herself at me," he explained softly.

"I know," Serena said, standing on tiptoes and starting to unbutton Lucas Shaw’s shirt.

But with the rubber gloves on, she struggled to unbutton it, her frustration causing her to sweat.

Lucas Shaw reached out his long arms, grabbing her slender waist, and hugged her tight into his arms.

With Lucas Shaw’s support, Serena’s body stopped shaking.

Nevertheless, she still fumbled clumsily with the shirt buttons.

Lucas Shaw let out a helpless chuckle.

He hugged her with one arm around her slim waist while unbuttoning his shirt with the other.

"I’ll do it myself."

At last, Lucas Shaw was left in just his underpants.

Serena’s body pressed close against Lucas Shaw’s chest, her cheeks slowly heating up.

Her eyes flickered, not knowing where to rest.

"I, I didn’t tell you to take off your pants."

Serena slightly lowered her gaze, suddenly noticing...

She seemed startled, quickly diverting her eyes.

Her cheeks became even hotter.

Lucas Shaw slightly lowered his gaze, his eyes unwaveringly fixed on Serena’s tender and blush-flushed cheeks.

The delicate and fair face of the girl seemed to be brushed with rouge.

Her little face slightly blushing, looking like a just-ripened cherry, silently beckoning enticingly, invitingly.
