Chapter 93: Legal Right

The air in the dimly lit room was thick with the scent of blood and sweat.

The man tied to the chair struggled to breathe, each breath coming out as a painful rasp.

His body was broken—bruises, cuts, and deep wounds covered him from head to toe.

He had been the key witness who had come forward recently, telling Gabriel, Lucas’s assistant, what he had seen on the day of the accident.

Now, that information had sealed his fate.

The figure in the corner, standing tall and unbothered by the man’s suffering, was Alpha Grey.

His eyes were sharp, reflecting only the faint flicker of annoyance as he watched the scene unfold.

The man’s pleads had grown weaker, his resistance fading with each blow.

The one tasked with torturing him was methodical, precise in every strike, but Alpha Grey had seen enough.

"End it," Alpha Grey ordered, his voice cold and devoid of any mercy.

The torturer stopped mid-action, nodding as he prepared to finish the job.

The man’s swollen eyes widened in fear as he gasped out a final plea for mercy, his voice hoarse. "Please... I won’t say anything else... Please!"

Alpha Grey didn’t flinch. "Your words have already done enough damage."

With a swift motion, the torturer delivered the fatal blow, and the man’s final breath escaped in a low gasp before his body slumped forward, lifeless.

Alpha Grey turned away, uninterested in watching the aftermath of the execution.

The man had been eliminated, silenced for revealing information that should have stayed buried.

Information about the accident that nearly killed Lucas five years ago—an accident Alpha Grey had organised.

As Alpha Grey strode out of the room, his mind drifted to the situation at hand.

He had never wanted Lucas to survive that day.

It had been a carefully calculated plan—one meant to remove Lucas from his path permanently.

The accident was supposed to leave Lucas dead, but instead, it had only crippled him and wiped his memory.

For years, that had been enough.

Lucas had no recollection of Alpha Grey’s involvement, and as long as Lucas stayed out of Aurora’s life, Alpha Grey had been content to let the past remain buried.

But now, Lucas was digging. Investigating. And that could not be allowed.

Alpha Grey reached his mansion. As he entered the hall, one of his guards, Ralph, rushed toward him, his face pale with urgency.

"Alpha Grey!" Ralph called out, his breath ragged.

Alpha Grey stopped, narrowing his eyes at Ralph’s hurried approach.

"What is it?" he asked, his voice low, but with a hint of irritation.

Ralph came to a halt before him, bowing slightly as he spoke. "There’s something you need to know, Alpha. Lucas... he’s taking legal action to reclaim the land you were given five years ago."

Alpha Grey’s brow furrowed. "What?" he asked, his tone skeptical. "That’s impossible."

Ralph swallowed nervously before responding. "It’s very possible, Alpha. The land was granted to you under a gratuitous lease agreement for five years. The time is up, and Lucas has the legal right to take it back."

Alpha Grey clenched his fists at his sides, a surge of frustration building within him. "How did this happen?" he growled. "That land was part of my plan. Without it, everything I’ve prepared will start to crumble."

Ralph, still bowing his head slightly, continued. "Lucas is moving fast. If he pushes through with this, there’s a strong chance he’ll reclaim it without any issues."

Alpha Grey paced back and forth, his jaw tight.

Everything he had worked for—the power, the pack warriors, the carefully crafted alliances—was slipping out of his hands.

And now, to hear that Lucas, the man he had tried to eliminate, was not only alive but taking legal steps to dismantle his plans? It was a bitter pill to swallow.

"Stop him," Alpha Grey barked, turning sharply toward Ralph. "Do whatever you need to. I don’t care what it takes—Lucas cannot win. I won’t let him ruin everything."

Ralph nodded obediently, but he hesitated, still standing where he was.

Alpha Grey’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Why are you still standing there?" Alpha Grey demanded. "I gave you an order!"

Ralph shifted nervously on his feet, clearly unsettled. "It’s not that I don’t want to obey, Alpha," he stammered.

Alpha Grey’s patience snapped. "Then what is it? Spit it out!"

Ralph’s face paled even further as he looked up cautiously. "What I’m about to say might upset you, Alpha."

Alpha Grey rubbed his forehead, feeling the exhaustion of the day bearing down on him.

"Out with it already," he snapped.

Ralph took a deep breath, bracing himself for the Alpha’s reaction. "Aurora has returned to Sumturm City... with her two children."

Alpha Grey froze, his expression unreadable at first, but then shock registered in his eyes.

"What?" His voice was a whisper of disbelief.

Ralph nodded quickly. "Yes, Alpha. And there’s more... Aurora’s son, Leo, is... healthier than we expected. He’s thriving."

Alpha Grey felt his knees weaken, and for a moment, it seemed as if he might collapse.

Ralph rushed forward to steady him, but Alpha Grey quickly pushed him off, regaining his composure.

"Aurora’s son..." Alpha Grey muttered to himself, the weight of those words sinking in.

The boy he had planned to kill years ago, the child he had hoped would never survive even after the surgery, was alive and well.

His mind raced with implications, and fury burned deep within him.

If that boy grew up, if he became strong, he could challenge everything Alpha Grey had fought to achieve.

Alpha Grey turned on Ralph, his voice thunderous as he unleashed his Alpha power. "You will stop Lucas. You will find a way to reclaim that land and ensure Aurora’s return does not interfere with my plans!"

Ralph bowed his head lower in fear. "Yes, Alpha. I will do everything I can."

Alpha Grey stepped closer, his eyes burning with a dangerous intensity. "If Lucas gets that land back... if Aurora’s son becomes a threat, I will hold you personally responsible, Ralph. And not just you—I’ll make sure your family pays the price."

Ralph’s entire body trembled under the weight of Alpha Grey’s threat, and he nodded fervently. "I understand, Alpha. I won’t fail you."
