Chapter 79: Gurgling Sounds
Chapter 79: Gurgling Sounds
Aurora’s phone rang, cutting through the heavy silence of the hospital room.
It was Derek.
She answered swiftly, her voice sharp with anticipation.
"Did you find the car?" Aurora asked, already standing and gathering her things to leave.
"I tracked the plate number," Derek replied, his voice steady. "The car’s current location is within Grey Pack territory... precisely at Alpha Grey’s mansion."
Aurora froze, her hand tightening around the phone.
"What?" Her mind raced.
Alpha Grey? Her heart pounded harder, but she forced herself to stay calm.
"Yes," Derek confirmed. "That’s where it’s parked now."
Aurora’s grip on the phone faltered slightly, her thoughts tumbling over one another. She glanced back at the security screen, still paused on the footage.
"I’ll handle it from here, Derek." She ended the call abruptly, her focus now razor sharp.
Turning to the security officer, she pointed at the screen. "Replay the footage where the baby was taken to the car."
The officer nodded and rewound the footage, replaying the moment when the suspicious nurse walked out of the hospital carrying her son.
Aurora leaned in, her eyes scanning every detail on the screen.
"Zoom in on the driver," she commanded, her voice steady but cold.
The security officer zoomed in as requested, and the blurred image of the driver slowly sharpened.
The face in the car came into focus, and Aurora’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Her breath caught in her throat.
It was unmistakable—the man behind the wheel was one of her father’s guards.
Her jaw dropped as recognition hit her like a punch to the gut. She stood motionless, staring at the screen, her mind now connecting fragments she hadn’t considered before.
"What is one of my father’s guards doing involved in this?"
---
Aurora gripped the wheel tightly as she drove into the heart of the Grey Pack.
Derek’s intel had led her to this sacred place, one few dared to enter.
The moon cast an eerie glow over the surroundings, but Aurora felt no fear—only determination.
She pulled the car to a halt and stepped out, her gaze cold and focused.
Derek and his men flanked her, each armed with guns loaded with silvery bullets.
They moved silently, creeping toward the outer perimeter where the guards stood watch.
Without hesitation, Derek and his men engaged the guards.
Blows were exchanged, gunfire muffled by the silvery bullets.
Aurora didn’t linger—she pushed forward, entering the empty building ahead.
Her footsteps echoed as she searched through the desolate halls.
The silence was suffocating, her heart pounding in her chest.
She murmured a prayer to the Moon Goddess, begging for guidance.
Then, piercing the stillness, a baby’s cry echoed through the space.
Her son.
Aurora’s eyes snapped toward the sound, her heart lurching. She followed it, the cry leading her to a wall.
It was faint but unmistakable.
Without a second thought, she kicked the wall with all her strength.
The barrier crumbled under her force, revealing a hidden room beyond.
There, standing with her baby in his arms, was Alpha Grey.
He was poised over a small tub of water, and her son was inches from its surface.
Aurora knew instantly—that was her baby.
The small form, the unmistakable energy, the connection she felt to him since the moment he was born.
His cry was filled with desperation, and those tiny blue eyes were exactly like Lucas’s. There was no doubt in her mind.
"Stay away from my son!" Aurora growled, pointing her gun directly at Alpha Grey.
Alpha Grey turned slowly, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. His guard stood beside him, watching with cold eyes.
Alpha Grey chuckled darkly. "Your son? Do you really think you can stop me?"
Aurora’s fingers twitched on the trigger, but before she could fire, Alpha Grey snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, men emerged from the shadows, surrounding her.
Aurora shot at the first few that charged her, taking them down with precision, but there were too many.
They rushed her, pinning her to the ground.
Silvery chains were wrapped around her neck and wrists, searing her skin like fire.
She groaned in pain, struggling to free herself.
Alpha Grey walked toward her, his smirk deepening. "Now, look at that," he taunted. "Much more submissive to your father."
Aurora scoffed, baring her fangs at him. "Why did you take my child from me?" she demanded, her voice raw with fury.
Alpha Grey looked down at the baby, then back at her.
"You mean this filth?" he said with disdain.
Aurora’s growl deepened, her fangs still bared in defiance.
Unfazed, Alpha Grey continued, "During the pre-delivery ritual, it was revealed that this son of yours is the next Alpha King, chosen by the Moon Goddess herself. He is supposed to replace me."
His eyes darkened with malice. "But that won’t happen. Just like the other pups I eliminated to keep my position, this one will be no different."
Aurora’s stomach churned as the truth sank in. Her father had been killing innocent pups, chosen by fate, to maintain his power. And now he intended to murder her son.
"You’re disgusting," she spat, her voice dripping with venom. "Despicable."
Alpha Grey merely shrugged, unaffected. He moved the baby closer to the tub.
Aurora’s heart raced, her desperation mounting.
"Don’t do it!" she screamed, her voice cracking with raw emotion. "Don’t harm my pup!"
She fought against the chains, the silver burning deeper into her skin, sending waves of agony through her body.
Her vision blurred, but she didn’t stop. She couldn’t stop.
Alpha Grey ignored her, dipping the baby into the water.
Aurora’s heart shattered as she heard the gurgling sounds. Her baby was drowning.
Rage erupted inside her, a fire unlike anything she had ever felt.
With one final, agonized cry, she pushed against the chains.
The pain was unbearable, but she channelled every ounce of strength she had left.
Then, something happened. Aurora felt a surge of power, something deep and primal. Her body shuddered, and in a violent burst of energy, she transformed into her wolf.
The silvery chains snapped like paper, falling to the ground.
Alpha Grey and his guard turned, stunned. They had never seen Aurora transform—they believed she was wolfless, weak. But here she stood, her pure white wolf towering before them, radiant with power and fury.
