Divorced and Chased by My Alpha Billionaire Ex-Husband -
Chapter 72: Lavish Salon
Chapter 72: Lavish Salon
In the lavish salon, Julia sat comfortably in one of the plush chairs, flipping her perfectly styled hair back with an air of superiority.
Her friends surrounded her, all listening intently as she boasted loudly about her latest purchase.
"Ladies, you won’t believe this," Julia said with a smug smile. "This wig? One million dollars. Custom-made. Imported from the finest sources. There’s nothing like it." She twirled a strand of the expensive wig between her fingers as her friends oohed and ahhed in amazement.
"Oh, Julia! You always have the best taste," one of her friends, Lizzy, gushed. "No one does luxury like you!"
"Of course," another chimed in. "I mean, look at her! She’s always dripping in wealth."
Julia soaked up the compliments like a sponge, smiling brightly. "Well, what can I say? Some of us were just born to live this way."
While the others showered her with praises, Sarah, seated quietly in the corner, could barely contain her irritation.
She had seen Julia pull this act before, and it left a sour taste in her mouth.
Sarah’s mind wandered back to the boutique incident not too long ago.
Julia had boasted about buying an expensive dress, making sure everyone heard her, only for her credit card to be declined at the counter.
The embarrassment Sarah felt that day still lingered, and she had no doubt that Julia was simply full of empty words today as well.
"Boasting in vain," Sarah thought bitterly.
She absentmindedly scrolled through her phone, trying to tune out Julia’s incessant bragging.
As she swiped through social media, a bold headline caught her eye.
"Bombshell Scandal: Beloved Star’s Personal Life Exposed."
Intrigued, Sarah tapped on the headline, and it led her to an article. Her eyes widened as she read through it, realizing it was all about Julia Mayhem and a scandalous affair.
The article detailed shocking claims about Julia’s personal life, exposing intimate details that Sarah could barely believe.
Then she saw it—a video was attached to the article.
Without thinking, Sarah let out a startled scream. "Julia!"
Julia turned to her sharply, narrowing her eyes. "Why are you screaming like some irresponsible woman, Sarah?" she snapped. "Honestly, if you ever want to be taken seriously, especially if you dream of becoming an A-list actress like me, you need to start acting more modest." Her tone was dripping with disdain.
Sarah rolled her eyes and hissed under her breath, pushing her phone toward Julia. "Just take a look at this."
Annoyed but curious, Julia snatched the phone from Sarah’s hand.
She barely glanced at the article, dismissing it as another silly gossip piece. "You waste my time with these trivial articles—"
But her words cut off as she tapped the video attached to the article.
The screen lit up, and as it played, Julia’s face turned pale.
Her breath hitched as she saw exactly what was playing out. It was the video of what had happened between her and Ben the other night.
The very affair she thought was hidden had now been made public in the worst way possible.
Julia let out a loud, horrified scream, much louder than Sarah’s earlier cry.
Her friends, startled, looked around in confusion, but Sarah, standing behind her, couldn’t help but smirk, hiding her laughter at Julia’s obvious distress.
Julia’s mind raced, her heart pounding.
"Who did this?"
She struggled to think of anyone who could’ve leaked such a damning video.
Then, it clicked.
The rugged men. The ones she had hired.
They had been responsible for the videos, and now it seemed they had betrayed her.
Seething in anger, Julia stood up abruptly, her face twisted in fury.
She barely heard her friends’ confused questions as she hurriedly stormed out of the salon.
Once outside, she waved down a cab and barked out the address of the club.
She needed answers, and she needed them now.
---
Inside the cab, Julia clenched her fists, her mind consumed with thoughts of revenge.
Whoever had done this would pay dearly.
Once the cab halted, Julia walked out.
Julia stormed into the dimly lit club, her heels clicking loudly against the floor as she made a beeline for the rugged man sitting at a corner table.
The neon lights flickered overhead, casting strange shadows across the room.
The man, tall and burly with a scruffy beard, was the leader of the group she had hired.
He sat there, casually sipping from a glass of whiskey, oblivious—or perhaps indifferent—to the fury that was fast approaching him.
Without a second thought, Julia stomped up to him and slammed her designer bag onto the table with a loud thud.
Her eyes blazed with anger as she leaned forward, fists clenched.
"What the hell is the meaning of this?" she yelled, her voice sharp enough to turn a few heads around them.
But the man didn’t flinch.
He took another sip of his drink, his eyes lazily lifting to meet hers as if her presence was barely worth acknowledging.
Julia’s nostrils flared at his silence.
"I’m talking to you!" she snapped, slamming her hand onto the table. "Aren’t you the one I hired? Why would you do this? What do you think you’re playing at?"
The rugged man set his glass down and finally leaned back in his chair, a slow, lazy smile creeping onto his lips.
"I did what I had to do," he said simply, his voice low and gruff, but calm.
Julia’s fury only intensified at his nonchalant response.
She clenched her fists so tightly her knuckles turned white. "What do you mean you did what you had to do? Does that mean you’re the one behind those videos? You leaked them?!"
The man shrugged, unfazed by her outburst. "Maybe. Maybe not."
"That’s not an answer!" Julia nearly screamed. "If you’re behind those videos, you’ll take them down. Right now!" She pointed a finger at him, her demand clear and forceful.
The man chuckled darkly and reached for his drink again, taking another slow sip before setting it back down.
"Take them down?" He looked up at her with a smirk. "You think it’s that easy? Those videos are out there now. They’ve already spread like wildfire. Nothing you can do to stop it."
