Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School
Chapter 93: A Room Of Their Own.

Chapter 93: A Room Of Their Own.

"In that case, everyone can have their own room. Let’s all have our own space," Lara suggested. Olive quickly agreed and moved away from Lucas.

"I agree too," Henry chimed in, his face beaming with excitement. "I’ve always shared a dorm with another student; now I can have a room to myself. Woohoo!"

"Alright then! I agree also," Mark interjected with a smile while Aiden raised his hand to indicate his approval.

Lucas let out a frustrated sigh, his hands placed on his waist as he stared at Olive. "Fine! I agree too."

Olive could see his disappointment and frustration, which were evident on his face, but she ignored it and made her way up the stairs with Lara and Henry while the maids helped carry their luggage.

"OMG!" Olive, Henry, and Lara exclaimed as they were shown to different rooms by the servants, asking them to pick one.

As they explored the luxurious rooms, Olive couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over her. She had been dreading the idea of sharing a room with Lucas, and now she had her own private sanctuary.

"Wow, this is amazing!" Lara exclaimed. "I’m picking this room!" She added as they walked into a room with a pink sanctuary, a queen-sized bed placed in the middle of the room, an expensive sofa couch, a fireplace, and golden furniture.

"I know, right?" Henry replied, grinning from ear to ear. "I feel like royalty or something! Should we explore other rooms before deciding , huh?"

"No! I love this room" Lara replied excitedly as she jumped into the fluffy bed, giggling happily.

"Let’s leave the girl and go find our rooms then," Henry said, his gaze directed to Olive.

"I’ll stay here for a bit. I have to speak to Lara. I’ll join you later," Olive replied with a smile. Henry felt reluctant but soon left, thinking Olive was going to ask Lara to reveal the truth about Mark and her relationship.

"Okay, buddy! See you later, then," Henry said and left, as did the servants who followed, shutting the door and leaving Olive and Lara in the room.

Olive chuckled, feeling a sense of camaraderie with her friend. "I’m glad we have our own space," she said, flopping onto the bed. "I don’t think I could have handled sharing a room with Lucas."

Lara raised an eyebrow. "What’s going on with you two, anyway? You seemed pretty cozy earlier."

Olive shook her head. "Nothing’s going on. I just don’t want to deal with his flirtatious nonsense, okay?"

"Wait, is there something you’re not telling me?" Lara asked, her curiosity piqued.

Olive chuckled and then sighed heavily. "Lucas knows that I’m a girl."

"What?!" Lara exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock and surprise. "How come?"

"He caught me in the bathroom," Olive revealed, "where I had my hair down, standing before the mirror, admiring myself."

"Damn! You should have been more careful. So, are you guys dating then? Is that why he wanted to share a room with you, or is he threatening to reveal your secrets and making life unbearable for you?" Lara inquired, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.

"No! We’re not dating, and he’s not threatening me whatsoever," Olive blurted out, her lips curled into a warm smile. "Although, he kind of likes me."

"He kind of likes you or he really likes you?" Lara teased with a smile.

"He does, and I do, but we can never date," Olive replied, her expression now sad. "It can never work, no matter how much I want it to."

"Why can’t you date? You’re lucky, Olive. The heir of Belmont has feelings for you, and you don’t want to date him?" Lara questioned, her expression a mix of frustration and confusion.

"I can’t date him because he’s the heir of Belmont," Olive replied as she sat up in bed, and Lara did the same, both facing each other. "I can’t afford to lose my scholarship because of Lucas. Fine, Lucas likes me, but do you think others would accept that if they find out we’re dating? In fact, I’m just exposing myself to danger if I date him. I’ve seen those rich people go to any lengths to achieve their goals. Is it about Miss Aimee killing Samuel to cover her secrets or Mr. Philip killing Desmond and Lucas’s sister that I should talk about? Do you think those who find out about me and Lucas’s relationship, his rivals, wouldn’t want to kill me?"

"And like I said earlier, I can’t risk this scholarship. I can’t risk my future. My parents don’t know what has happened all this time at school, the murder cases that have happened, and the reasons. If they knew, they’d want me far away from the rich kids," Olive concluded, her expression downcast.

Lara nodded sympathetically. "Fair enough. I’m so sorry about that. I call myself your best friend, but I didn’t even know about all this."

"It’s okay, Lara! I’ve been busy with school, and so have you. Now that we’re here, I just want this vacation to be the best one ever, and I’m so glad that you’re here because you’re the only one I can talk freely to. I was already thinking about how I’d be bored."

Instead of replying, Lara threw Olive into her embrace, hugging her tightly. "You’ve grown up. You’re no longer the annoying young lady."

Olive let out a burst of laughter as she released herself from the hug, her gaze fixed on Lara. "Now, tell me. What’s going on between you and Mark?"

Lara chuckled, her face flushed pink. "Uh, we’re dating!"

"OMG! OMG! You’re such a betrayer, and so is Mark. When did you both start dating each other?" Olive said as she playfully hit Lara with a pillow.

"We’ve been meeting up, going on dates, expressing our feelings, and here we are. Mark actually wants to announce our relationship at tonight’s welcome party," Lara revealed, grinning happily.

"Aww, I’m so happy for you, baby girl. Mark is an orphan, so he can make decisions about himself without anyone interfering," Olive said as she threw herself into Lara’s embrace. "And he’s a good guy. He was the first friend I made at Belmont, after all."

As they hugged, Olive couldn’t help but feel a sense of joy for her friend. She was happy that Lara had found someone who made her happy, and she knew that Mark was a great guy.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of warm oranges, pinks, and purples. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore. The group of friends were being led by a servant toward a closet to grab outfits for the evening’s occasion.

As the group followed the servant, they were led to a sprawling walk-in closet that seemed to stretch on forever. The room was a treasure trove of high-end fashion, with rows upon rows of designer clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Racks of bespoke suits, tailored to perfection, stood alongside shelves of crisp, white shirts and silk ties in every color imaginable. A section of the closet was dedicated to evening wear, with floor-length gowns in shimmering silks, satins, and velvets that seemed to glow in the soft light.

Shelves upon shelves of designer handbags, from sleek clutches to oversized totes, lined one wall, while another was dedicated to shoes—stilettos, pumps, loafers, and sneakers in every style and color.

Olive, Lara, and Henry’s eyes widened as they scanned the closet, taking in the sheer scale of the fashion paradise. Lara’s eyes landed on a stunning blue gown by Versace.

"Alright, let’s grab an outfit and get dressed," Lucas announced with a smile as he moved around, looking for the perfect outfit to pick.

A stylish assistant, noticing the group’s confusion about what to pick, stepped forward. "The clothes are for your use tonight. Just let me know if you need any assistance."

The group began to browse, each member selecting an outfit that reflected their personality and style. The closet was a fashion lover’s dream come true, and they were determined to make the most of it.

Lara slipped into a stunning blue gown that hugged her curves in all the right places. She looked like a princess, her hair styled in loose waves and her makeup perfectly done. Mark, dashing in his tailored suit, couldn’t take his eyes off her.

The moment she came out of the dressing room, all eyes turned to her, mouths agape in surprise.

"You look so beautiful, girl!" Olive commented with a smile as she spun Lara around. "You’re Princess Cinderella."

Lara burst into laughter. "Thanks, dear."

"You’ll help with her makeup and hair styling. Make everything perfect," Mark ordered the stylist, who nodded in reply and led Lara to a chair to begin his task.

Olive felt a pang of sadness as she stood in front of the closet. She longed to wear a beautiful gown like Lara, but she knew she had to dress like a boy. She sighed, running her fingers over the delicate fabrics of the dresses hanging in the closet. It had been so long since she’d felt like a girl.

With a heavy heart, Olive picked a pair of trousers and a button-down shirt and went ahead to put it on in the dressing room. She looked in the mirror, her eyes misty. She hardly recognized the boy staring back at her.

Once everyone was dressed, they made their way to the beach, where the welcome party was located.
