Chapter 94: Moonlight Confessions.
The beach had been transformed into a luxurious oasis, with elegant tents and canopies scattered along the shore. Soft golden lighting cast a warm glow over the festivities, highlighting the fine details of the setting. The smooth sounds of jazz music floated through the air, adding sophistication to the ambiance. The gentle night breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of waves gently lapping at the shore.
A lavish buffet awaited them, featuring a variety of delectable dishes, from seafood to meats, and an assortment of fruits and cheeses. The tables were set with linens, china, and crystal, reflecting the warm light of the setting sun.
A stylish bar nearby offered signature cocktails, champagne, and wines. The bartender, dressed in a white tuxedo, skillfully crafted drinks, adding to the evening’s entertainment. The atmosphere was enchanting, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
The group settled at the table, their faces filled with happiness as they were served champagne, which they all drank in one go, while enjoying the smooth jazz music.
Aiden stood up from his chair and started dancing, eliciting laughter from the group with his funny dance moves.
"Don’t strain yourself, Aiden," Olive teased, laughing. "You are not a good dancer."
"Alright, guys! I actually have an announcement to make," Mark said with a smile, gesturing for Aiden to take a seat.
Lucas and Henry, who were busy grilling the meats, couldn’t help but turn their attention to Mark, eagerly awaiting his announcement.
Olive had a feeling in her heart that it was about Lara. He wanted to make his relationship with Lara official.
Mark cleared his throat, his smile widening. "I have some special news to share with all of you. Lara and I have been close for a while now, and I’m excited to announce that we are officially dating. She’s my girlfriend."
The group looked shocked, unable to believe what they were hearing, except for Olive.
"Wow, you two are already dating and you didn’t tell me?" Aiden exclaimed, joy evident on his face as he playfully punched Mark on the shoulder.
"I knew something was going on between you two," Henry added with an outburst of laughter.
Lucas grabbed another bottle of champagne, happily whistling as he poured glasses for everyone and brought a tray of roasted meats and chicken to the table.
Lara blushed and smiled, her eyes filled with happiness.
"Congratulations to both of you!" Henry cheered, raising his glass in a toast. "May your love continue to blossom each day."
Lucas nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting friendship. "Well done, Mark. Lara is a true gem."
Olive grinned, feeling genuinely happy for her friend. "I’m thrilled for you both. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
Mark then took Lara’s hand, and they stood in front of the group. He spoke with emotion in his voice, "I consider myself the luckiest person to have found my soulmate in this incredible woman. I promise to always cherish and love her."
The group applauded, with Aiden shouting, "Now, let’s get this party started!" The music grew louder, and the group began dancing, lost in the magic of the night.
Two beautiful women dressed in beachwear soon arrived at the party.
"Oh, my babies are here!" Aiden exclaimed excitedly as he hugged the women, planting kisses on their cheeks. "I might not have a girlfriend, but I have my beautiful babies here."
"Damn, Aiden, you’re a bad boy," Henry said, shaking his head while others couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
As the night wore on, the celebration only grew more vibrant. Olive found herself lost in the music, her feet moving in time with the beat. Lucas appeared beside her, his eyes shining with warmth. "You look beautiful tonight, Olive," he said, his voice low and sincere.
Olive blushed, feeling a sense of joy. "Thanks, Lucas. You don’t look so bad yourself."
Lucas chuckled and offered his hand. "Want to dance with me?"
"Sure!" Olive replied as she took his hand.
As they swayed to the music, Olive felt a deep connection with Lucas. The group also joined in dancing happily. When they began to slow down, they left the dance stage to Olive and Lucas.
Lucas leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. "Want to go somewhere with me?"
Olive raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Where?"
Lucas smiled mischievously. "You’ll find out soon."
As they strolled away from the celebration, the serene seashore unfolded before them. The moon cast a silver glow over the ocean, and the sound of waves gently lapping at their feet created a soothing melody.
The sound of the music started to fade away as Olive and Lucas continued to walk beside each other. The seawater slapped against their feet.
"The moon is so beautiful tonight," Olive said with a warm smile. "The stars are beautiful too."
Lucas turned to Olive, his voice sincere. "I know, right? But are you okay, though? I saw you gazing at the female dresses tonight. I know you wanted to put one on."
Olive burst out laughing, feeling a sense of gratitude toward Lucas. "Yeah, yeah. I just miss being a girl, putting on dresses, styling my hair, being myself."
Lucas’s gaze locked with Olive’s. "What if you could do that tomorrow? Go somewhere with me where you can dress as a girl?"
Olive’s heart skipped a beat. She nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. "Huh? I’d love to get dressed as a girl, but how? Where do you plan on taking me?"
"Just trust me, and you’ll get to dress as a girl," Lucas replied with a smile.
Olive chuckled. "Let’s see how tomorrow goes then," she said, continuing to walk with Lucas beside her, both enjoying the cool breeze.
"I told Lara that you know I’m a girl," Olive revealed, stopping abruptly in front of Lucas.
"Oh, I hope you told her not to tell Mark?" Lucas asked.
"No, I didn’t," Olive replied with a worried expression. "But she’s smart enough to know not to tell him. After explaining everything to her, she won’t say anything to Mark," she added while Lucas nodded in response.
"I see a bench over there," Lucas said excitedly, spotting a bench and guiding Olive to sit down.
As they sat on the bench, Lucas turned to Olive with a thoughtful expression. "I have something for you," he said sincerely. "I’ve wanted to give this to you for a while now."
Olive smiled, curious. "What is it?"
Lucas knelt down before Olive, took out a small box from his pocket, and opened it to reveal a silver leg chain with diamonds. "A token from me."
Olive’s heart skipped a beat as she gazed at the leg chain. "What is this about? I already told you I don’t want to be a girlfriend, just a friend."
"I know, Olive, and I’m not using this to propose. I just want to give you this as a token of my friendship," Lucas explained.
"But..."
"No buts, please. Just accept it," Lucas said with pleading eyes as he remained on his knees before Olive. "Even if you don’t want to be my girlfriend, I still want you to be my friend. A friend that I never want to lose."
Tears welled up in Olive’s eyes as she looked at the beautiful silver leg chain with diamond charms. She was touched by Lucas’s gesture and his heartfelt words. She nodded quietly, "Okay, I accept."
Lucas’s face lit up with a bright smile as he carefully placed the leg chain around Olive’s leg. The chain sparkled in the moonlight, symbolizing their special friendship. Olive felt grateful for Lucas’s acceptance and knew that he valued her for who she was.
As they settled back onto the bench, Lucas turned to Olive with a warm smile. "So, about tomorrow... are you ready to take a chance and just be yourself? I have a place in mind that I think you’ll really enjoy."
Olive nodded eagerly. "I’m all set."
Lucas’s eyes lit up with excitement. "Great. Thank you for accepting," he added, while Olive nodded in response, even though she wasn’t expecting him to thank her. Yet, he did as if she had done something special for him.
The night passed by peacefully, with the stars shining brightly above them. Olive and Lucas sat side by side, savoring each other’s company, the sound of the waves and the gentle breeze adding to the serene atmosphere.
As the evening came to an end, Lucas and Olive made their way back to the house, finding it quiet and empty. "Looks like everyone’s turned in for the night," Lucas remarked with a smile, glancing around before focusing on Olive. "Get some rest now. I’ll see you tomorrow."
Olive returned his smile, feeling a mix of anticipation and joy. "I’ll see you tomorrow too. Have a good night rest."
With that, they bid each other goodnight, headed upstairs, and retreated to their own rooms.
