Chapter 92: Vacation Mode.
The school cafeteria was filled with noise and the clatter of utensils as Lucas and Olive joined Mark, Aiden, and Henry at a table. Lucas carried a tray of food, while Olive had a simple salad and a glass of water.
"Hey guys!" Mark greeted enthusiastically. "How are you feeling, Arthur? I knew it was an accident at the lab"
"I’m good, just a scratch that’s been taken care of," Olive replied with a smile as she started eating.
"We’re leaving for vacation tomorrow. Are you all ready?" Aiden asked, his face beaming with excitement as he ate.
"Yeah, you guys are going to the 3RM vacation house, while Arthur and I are going with the other students to paris," Henry added with a sigh. "I don’t really feel like going anywhere, I just want to relax at home."
"Who said you and Arthur are going with the other students? You’re both coming with us to the 3RM vacation house," Lucas declared, his voice filled with seriousness and excitement.
"Really! This is amazing." Henry exclaimed. "Did you already know about this, Arthur?" He inquired, observing Olive’s lack of surprise at Lucas’s announcement.
"Yes, he just informed me recently, and I agreed to join. Since we’re all friends now, it’s only fitting that we go on vacation together," Olive responded with a smile, as Henry nodded in agreement.
"This is going to be so much fun. I hope you all don’t mind if I bring a friend along?" Mark asked, his face radiating happiness.
"A friend? When did you make a new friend that we don’t know about?" Aiden raised a curious eyebrow.
"She’s actually Arthur’s friend. Lara," Mark revealed.
"Huh? She’s your friend now, and she didn’t even tell me. Lara is my best friend, but now she doesn’t really share things with me, and I guess that’s because of you," Olive interjected, pretending to be upset.
"No, I’m just about to invite her actually. I wanted to tell you all first before doing so." Mark replied. "And why is her not telling you things again because of me. That’s a wrong accusation"
"You’re friends with her or something else. You’re so suspicious." Lucas teased, winking at Mark and causing the others to burst into laughter.
"Well, you can invite her, but I’m concerned she might be bored. She’ll be the only girl among us. Do you think she’ll be comfortable with that?" Aiden asked, looking worried.
"She wouldn’t mind, especially with me around. Mark replied, raising suspicion among the others. Seeing their reactions, he quickly added, "I mean, Arthur, her best friend, will also be there. I should ask her first if she’s interested, and if not, I’ll forget about it."
The group nodded in agreement as Mark left the table to make a call.
An awkward silence followed, but the cafeteria remained lively with other students chatting. The group’s eyes stayed on Mark as he walked away.
"I have a feeling that Lara and Arthur might be dating. Lara hasn’t told Arthur anything, even though they’re best friends. Maybe they’re keeping their relationship a secret." Henry mentioned, breaking the awkward silence.
"You should ask your best friend, Arthur, and I and Aiden will also check with Mark." Lucas added, as the others nodded in agreement.
_______________
The following day, the group assembled at the private airstrip, dressed in their finest attire and relieved to be out of their school uniforms, excited to begin their vacation. Mark arrived with Lara, who looked stunning in a yellow sundress and sunglasses. Olive was surprised to see the warm smile shared between Mark and Lara.
"Hey, everyone! Sorry for being late," Mark said, walking Lara to the group.
Lucas raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the evident connection between Mark and Lara. "No problem, man. We’re ready to go."
"You look amazing!" Olive complimented Lara as she hugged her and whispered, "But spill the beans about you and Mark or risk losing our friendship."
Lara chuckled and nodded in agreement to Olive’s request.
As they entered the luxurious private jet, Henry quietly remarked to Olive, "Seems like Mark and Lara are dating ,right?"
Olive nodded, her gaze fixed on the couple. "Definitely looks that way."
Aiden, seated opposite them, added, "This vacation just got a whole lot more exciting."
Lucas, positioned at the front, turned back with a smile. "Get ready, everyone. It’s going to be quite the adventure."
As the jet lifted off, the group settled in for the lengthy journey ahead, eager to arrive at their destination and kick off their escapade.
As the jet soared through the clouds, the group excitedly discussed their plans for the vacation. Mark and Lara sat close together, their hands intertwined as they peered out the window. Olive observed them with a mixture of interest and amusement.
Meanwhile, Lucas got up and started to move around the cabin. "Alright, folks, let’s get down to business. We’re headed to a private island, courtesy of my family’s estate. We’ll have the whole place to ourselves, with a wide range of amenities and activities at our disposal."
Henry’s eyes widened. "That sounds amazing! What kind of activities are we talking about?"
Lucas smirked playfully. "Think top-notch spa treatments, exclusive beach bashes, and thrilling extreme sports. We’re going to make this vacation one for the books."
Henry nodded eagerly. "Count me in. Let’s make this a week to remember, full of fun and relaxation."
The flight attendants, dressed in stylish suits, began serving lunch, and the group enjoyed the delicious food. Lucas then announced, "We’ll be landing in about an hour. Get ready for an amazing island adventure!"
As the plane descended, the group admired the stunning view of the private island. The turquoise waters and lush green forests were a sight to behold.
"Wow, this is amazing!" Lara exclaimed.
Lucas beamed. "Welcome to my family’s paradise."
The jet touched down on a private airstrip, and the group exited the plane, breathing in the tropical air.
A group of elegantly dressed ladies welcomed them. "Welcome, young master and miss!"
Luxury cars were waiting to transport the group to the villa while staffs helped them arrange their luggages at the car boot and soon the car drove off.
The chauffeur drove into the compound and soon stopped the car at the parking lots while the group got off as well while the staff at the villa assisted with the luggages.
The exterior of the villa exuded luxury, with creamy white stone walls, sweeping arches, and terracotta tiles that glowed warmly in the fading light.
As they entered the villa, Olive, Lara, and Henry were amazed by its grandeur. The interior of the villa was equally impressive, with high ceilings, polished marble floors, and lavish furnishings that spoke of opulence.
The living room they settled in was a spacious area with plush sofas, armchairs, and ottomans, all covered in rich, velvety fabrics. The walls were adorned with beautiful artwork, and the floors were lined with thick, plush rugs that felt like silk underfoot. A majestic stone fireplace dominated one wall, flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows that offered stunning views of the turquoise ocean.
Lucas then announced, "Tonight, we’ll have a welcome party on the beach. Cocktails, dinner, and music under the stars."
The group cheered, excited to kick off their vacation in style.
"But first, let’s get ready. There are professional masseurs in the villa, a variety of expensive clothes, everything we need is here." Aiden chimed in eagerly. " We just need to prepare and look our best for tonight."
"There are also beautiful women waiting at the beach for the party. Let’s have a great time tonight." Aiden added.
"Are we expecting some beautiful ladies?" Lucas inquired, his eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"Yes! I already arranged for some girls to come before we arrived at the villa," Aiden confirmed, turning to Lara. "Lara, I hope you’re okay with this. The ladies are just here to dance and liven up the mood."
Lara nodded in response even though she was uneasy as well as Olive.
"Where should we put our luggage?" Henry asked. "I assume we’ll be sharing rooms, so I’ll room with Arth...."
"I’ll room with Olive," Lucas blurted out, cutting Henry short of words, causing the others to give him a puzzled look. "I mean Arthur."
"Oh man! Forget about your sister now. We’ve caught the culprit. Her spirit can finally rest in peace," Henry said, placing a hand on Lucas’s shoulder in comfort.
"Yeah I know. I meant to say Arthur not Oluve. I’ll room with Arthur," Lucas clarified, moving closer to Olive and taking her arm. "Do you want to be my roommate?" he asked, locking eyes with Olive, who nodded in agreement.
’Damn, Lucas is going to be a handful. I’d rather room with someone else than him, honestly. He’s going to drive me crazy.’ Olive thought to herself.
"I’ll room with Lara," Mark interjected, approaching Lara and finally stood in front of her.
"No, she’s a girl. We’ll room together," Aiden declared, walking up to Mark and pulling him along.
"What about me then?" Henry questioned, looking displeased.
"Do you want to join us? Lucas ditched Mark and me for Arthur," Aiden suggested, crossing his arms.
"Sure!" Henry replied, joining Aiden and Mark.
"I’ll take a room by myself then," Lara said with a forced smile. She kept her eyes on Olive, knowing she was a girl. Why did she agree to room with Lucas? She understood that everyone saw her as a boy, but she still wasn’t comfortable with Olive sharing a room with her.
"Isn’t there plenty of space in the villa?" Lara inquired, receiving nods of agreement from Lucas, Aiden, and Mark.
"In that case, everyone can have their own room. Let’s all have our own space," Lara suggested, with Olive quickly agreed and moved away from Lucas.
