Chapter 88: A New Chapter...

A week had passed since Lucas woke up from his coma. He was now sitting in his hospital bed, observing as the nurse changed his bandages. The wound was healing well, and he was finally ready to be discharged.

Mrs. George, dressed in a blue channel suit with her short black hair styled beautifully, sat beside Lucas’s bed, while Clara, dressed in a white Versace top and blue Gucci trousers, stood beside him, both wearing thankful smiles.

"I’m pleased to see you’re recovering quickly, Lucas," the nurse said with a smile. "You’ll need to take it easy for a few more weeks, but you should be back to normal soon."

Lucas nodded, feeling a mix of relief and excitement. He was eager to return to his normal life.

"Are you certain he can resume his normal routine without any issues with the wound?" Mrs. George inquired with a concerned look.

"Yes, ma’am. Just ensure he follows the prescribed medication and avoids straining his right hand by lifting heavy objects, as it could impact the chest wound." The nurse reassured with a smile.

"Definitely! He doesn’t lift a finger at home. He’s quite lazy." Clara remarked, earning a glare from Lucas.

As the nurse concluded, Olive, Mark, Aiden, and Henry entered the room, each holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Hey, Lucas! It’s great that you’re being discharged today. That’s fantastic news!" Olive exclaimed with a beaming smile, greeting Mrs. George and Clara. "Good afternoon, ma’am."

"Good afternoon, ma’am." The others echoed with a slight bow, receiving nods of acknowledgment from Mrs. George and Clara.

Lucas expressed his gratitude for his friends’ consistent visits. "I’m finally going home. Thank you all for coming to see me every day. It means a lot to me."

Olive placed the flowers on the bedside table. "Absolutely, Lucas. We’re relieved that you’re safe. We were all very concerned about you."

"It’s surprising to discover that Mr. Philip has been our family’s enemy all along. But I’m relieved that he has been apprehended and will likely face consequences. While his death won’t erase all his wrongdoings, I’m glad he will no longer be a part of our lives." Mrs. George said as she gently touched Lucas’s face. "I’m so grateful that you’re okay, Lucas. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you too."

"I’m doing well, Mom. I also want to apologize for being a disrespectful son all these years. I unfairly blamed you, Dad, and others for my sister’s death. I harbored hatred towards people I shouldn’t have. I’m truly sorry, Mom." Lucas apologized with a smile as he held Mrs. George’s hands. "Please don’t worry about anything now and focus on taking care of your health." he added, and Mrs. George nodded in agreement, a smile appearing on her face.

The nurse handed Lucas a set of care instructions for his recovery at home. "Make sure to follow these instructions closely, Lucas. And don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns."

Lucas nodded, taking the instructions from the nurse. He was eager to return home and begin his healing process in earnest.

He soon got dressed in a blue shirt and black trousers, with his shirt sleeves rolled up to reveal his tattoos, making his look hot and irresistible.

"It’s been a while since I’ve dressed up like this. I’ve been stuck in that ugly hospital gown for so long. I’m glad to finally be out of it," Lucas said with a satisfied smile. His friends chuckled as they watched him admire himself in the mirror.

"Alright, it’s time to leave." Clara announced with a smile while others nodded in agreement and quickly gathered Lucas’s belongings and left the hospital, keeping a close eye on him.

Stepping outside, Lucas took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of the sun on his face. It was a beautiful day, and he was grateful to be alive. His friends chatted and laughed, happy to see him recovering well.

Mrs. George and Clara walked beside him, their expressions filled with concern and love. "We’re happy you’re coming home, Lucas," Mrs. George said softly. "We’ll take good care of you."

Lucas smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Mom. I appreciate it."

Olive, Mark, Aiden, and Henry followed behind, chatting and joking. Lucas could hear their laughter and felt grateful for their support.

"But how do we make Lucas go back to school with us? The surprise would be water if he doesn’t show up." Olive said, her voice barely above a whisper but loud enough for Mark, Aiden and Henry to hear.

"Guess our effort would be wasted eventually." Henry proclaimed with a sad expression.

As they approached the car, Lucas paused, reflecting on the events that had brought him to the hospital. He glanced at Olive, who noticed his expression.

"Hey, Lucas, are you okay?" she asked, her face showing concern.

Lucas nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I’m fine. Just reminiscing about some things."

He turned to his mom, "I really want to go back to school, Mom. My friends will take good care of me."

"But you need to relax first. You just got out of the hospital. You can go back to school later," Mrs. George said, looking worried.

Lucas was determined. "No, Mom, I want to go back to school now. I miss it and I want to be with my friends."

Mrs. George hesitated, her concern evident. "But you need to rest and recover, Lucas."

Lucas shook his head. "I’m fine mom. My friends will look out for me, and I’ll take it easy."

Olive, Mark, Aiden, and Henry all agreed to take care of him. "We’ll make sure he’s okay, Mrs. George," Mark assured her. "We’ve got this."

Mrs. George looked at Clara, who nodded in agreement. "Let him go, Mom. He’ll be okay."

Lucas smiled, feeling relieved. "Thanks, Mom. I’ll be careful, I promise."

They all got into the car, with Mrs. George driving. As they arrived at the school, Lucas’s friends and other students cheered and clapped. "Welcome back, Lucas!" they shouted.

Lucas felt happy to be back with his friends. They walked into the school building and headed to the cafeteria, where a big banner welcomed him back.

The cafeteria was filled with food and drinks, and Lucas was thrilled. "Wow, this is amazing!"

Olive grinned. "We thought we’d mark your release with a bang."

Lucas happily indulged in the array of dishes and fruit drinks. His companions bantered and giggled, pleased to witness his steady recovery.

While they dined, Lucas felt a deep appreciation for his friends. They had stood by him through all his trials and tribulations, and he knew he could rely on them no matter what.

The morning dawned with a beautiful display of pink and gold in the sky, as if the sun had set it ablaze. Wispy clouds drifted lazily across the horizon, their delicate tendrils reaching out like ethereal fingers. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the gentle chirping of birds, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

The students of Belmont are already gathered at the assembly.

"Good morning, buddy," Mark greeted as he sat down next to Lucas.

Olive, Aiden, and Henry joined them, and they all turned their attention to the stage where Mrs. George and Clara were standing. The teachers were also present.

Mrs. George cleared her throat, her expression serious. "Students and faculty, I have some important news to share with you all. As you may know, there have been some issues with the school’s administration recently."

Lucas’s heart raced as he waited to hear what she had to say.

"I am pleased to announce that Mr. Philip, the former principal, has been arrested and charged with his crimes. He will no longer be able to harm or manipulate anyone in this school."

The students erupted into cheers and applause, relieved that the situation was finally resolved.

Then Mrs. George dropped a bombshell. "And now, I am pleased to announce that I, Mrs. George, will be taking over as the new principal of Belmont High School."

Lucas was shocked. His mom, the new principal? But she was always busy with work and traveling. How could she manage this role?

He glanced at his friends, who shared his surprise. Clara, who was expected to become the new principal, looked particularly shocked and disappointed.

"Isn’t Clara supposed to be the new principal? What is mom up to?" Lucas whispered to himself.

"Your mom is full of surprises. Maybe she wants to keep an eye on you, especially after your recent ordeal," Mark commented with a sigh.

"I know this may be unexpected, but I am dedicated to seeing this school succeed. I am willing to put in the effort to make that happen," Mrs. George said with a smile.

"In addition, the two-week vacation to Paris will begin in two days. While Lucas may not be able to go due to his injury, he can still choose to visit his favorite vacation island with the 3RM. It could aid in his recovery as well," Mrs. George continued. "You have all been through a lot, and I believe a vacation is well-deserved."

"She’s definitely planning something. Mom wouldn’t send me on a vacation just like that, especially after what happened. There’s more to this," Lucas muttered under his breath, feeling frustrated.
