Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School -
Chapter 80: Midnight Maneuvers
Chapter 80: Midnight Maneuvers
As they entered the dimly lit assembly hall, the group were met with the stern faces of the police officers and the anxious chattering of students. The principal, Mr. Philip, stood at the podium, flanked by two officers.
"Welcome, students of Belmont High School," he began, his tone somber. "We are facing a grave situation. Henry, a student of Belmont High, has gone missing. We suspect he may be in danger, and we require your assistance in locating him."
The previously quiet assembly hall erupted into a buzz of conversation as students exchanged concerns and confusion.
Mr. Philip cleared his throat, restoring order to the assembly hall. "I understand your apprehension. However, I am confident that we will locate Henry and bring him back to safety. This is why we have enlisted the help of the police officers and require your cooperation and support. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in finding Henry."
"That deceiver. He’s a master at deception," Aiden muttered under his breath, his face contorted with anger.
"He won’t be able to keep up the act for long," Lucas declared in a hushed tone, his fist clenched as he stared at Mr. Philip.
The officers stepped forward, displaying a photo of Henry. "We urge anyone with information about Henry’s whereabouts to come speak to the police. Your information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be the key to finding Henry. We will be conducting a thorough search of the school and its surroundings, and we need your cooperation."
Lucas’s group shared anxious looks. They understood the urgency of initiating their plan.
"Let’s begin," declared one of the officers, distributing flyers featuring Henry’s photo and details. "We’ll split into teams to search the school tomorrow morning and then expand our search to the surrounding areas. Finding Henry is crucial. We appreciate your cooperation."
The microphone was handed to Mr Philip once more, "You’ve heard the instructions from the officers. If you have any information about Henry’s whereabouts, please speak to them. Thank you all. The assembly is adjourned."
The students filed out of the assembly hall, followed by Lucas, Olive, Aiden, and Mark, who returned to the 3RM special room.
"While the police search the school, we need to prepare for our mission tonight," Lucas declared, his determination evident.
"We should locate Henry tonight, finalize the plan, and bring him to Aiden’s house," Olive suggested, her tone serious as the others agreed.
"I’ll disable the camera tonight to avoid detection while we sneak out. Mark, keep an eye on Mr. Philip until we can leave the school. Report any suspicious activity," Lucas instructed.
Mark nodded solemnly. "Understood."
"We need to stay vigilant in case of any unforeseen events. Stick together until we execute the plan and remain united during the operation," Lucas emphasized, his expression grave. The group nodded in unison before dispersing.
________
The group gathered at the 3RM, feeling the thick anticipation in the night air. The darkness seemed alive, pulsing with its own energy and watching them closely.
At midnight, the group reconvened at the 3RM, all dressed in black.
"Mr. Philip had returned home and was not in his office," Mark whispered. He had been monitoring Mr. Philip’s movements all day and saw him leave the school at 8pm.
"I disabled all the CCTV cameras," Lucas explained with a sigh. "They won’t turn back on for four hours."
"Only four hours? Why not just disable them completely?" Olive asked, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"That’s because I might not be able to turn it back on by the time we get back from our operation. Therefore, we only have four hours to complete our task and return to school before the camera turns on." Lucas replied, his voice etched with seriousness.
"We shouldn’t waste any more time here then." Aiden said as he retrieved a sack from behind the chair. "This sack contains shovels, gloves, masks, and everything else we need. Let’s go now."
The group agreed and started to leave the 3RM special room and walked out of the school building.
They made their way to the back of the school, climbed the fence, and then got into Lucas’s car, which was parked outside.
The car soon reached the house, and the group entered to find Henry waiting for them.
Henry’s eyes widened in fear and relief when the group walked in. "You’re here. Did you tell them?"
"Henry!" Olive exclaimed happily as she hugged Henry before stepping back. "We need to get you out of here."
"Yeah, we can’t do this alone, Henry. That’s why I had to inform the others. I wanted to tell you over the phone, but your phone was still off," Lucas explained.
"I decided not to charge it, or else my location would be detected by everyone calling. That’s why it’s still off," Henry explained.
"I’m glad you didn’t turn it on," Lucas said with a sigh of relief.
"But we haven’t made any plans yet," Henry expressed his concerns, looking puzzled.
"Yes, we have. Lucas proceeded to share all the plans with Henry, who nodded in agreement.
"Wow! Henry exclaimed, a mix of shock and fear on his face. "But how do we enter the cemetery? Are there any CCTV cameras or security guards?"
"No, I’ve taken care of that. There are CCTV cameras, but I’ve disabled them. The cameras at the cemetery are linked to the school’s system, so by shutting down the school’s cameras, we’ve also disabled the ones at the cemetery." Lucas explained, and the group nodded in understanding.
"We only have three hours and fifteen minutes before the cameras start working again. We need to act quickly." Mark reminded them urgently.
The group quickly put on their gloves and nose masks after which they left the house and headed towards the cemetery and were soon standing before it.
Upon entering the cemetery, they were greeted by an eerie silence. The only sound was the gravel crunching beneath their feet as they made their way to the designated spot, their hearts pounding with anticipation.
"Let’s get started," Lucas whispered, scanning the area with his eyes. This is the grave of the boy who perished in a fire accident.
The group nodded in agreement and sprang into action immediately.
Aiden and Mark began digging, their shovels effortlessly sinking into the soil. Olive, Henry, and Lucas kept watch, scanning the surroundings for any signs of movement.
After a few minutes of digging, they reached the coffin. Lucas and Aiden then lifted the lid, revealing a charred and unrecognizable corpse.
Olive couldn’t hold back her nausea at the sight of the body. Henry held her hand, offering comfort.
"This is it," Lucas whispered, his gaze fixed on the corpse. "This is the body we’ll use to make everyone believe Henry is deceased."
The group nodded in agreement, their expressions solemn. Lucas and Aiden carefully removed the corpse from the coffin and placed it in a body bag and zipped it.
"Let’s go!" Aiden said after he had finished burrying the empty coffin property so that no on would notice.
As the group headed back to the house, Olive voiced her concerns. "Are we certain this is necessary? Using a real body to deceive everyone?"
Lucas remained resolute. "We’ve deliberated on this at length. We have no other option. Mr. Philip will go to great lengths to locate Henry. We must create a convincing scenario to throw him off our trail."
The group nodded, their resolve unwavering. They understood the risks involved but were prepared to face them to hold Mr. Philip accountable.
They soon reached the house, Lucas’s eyes sparkled with determination as he led the group inside.
"Let’s just get this done," he whispered firmly.
"Are we going to leave the body here and go away? Damn, we didn’t plan this properly," Mark exclaimed, his face filled with worry.
Lucas then went into another room and returned with a twenty-five-liter keg in his hand.
"What’s that?" Aiden asked, eyebrows raised in confusion.
"Gasoline," Lucas replied bluntly.
"No way! We’re burning down this house. Isn’t this your sister’s house?" Henry whispered to Lucas in shock.
"If we want Henry’s death to seem real, we have to make it look believable. We can’t just leave a burnt body here. We have to make it look like Henry died in the fire," Lucas said, frustration evident on his face.
"This is getting really extreme," Olive murmured under her breath, fear in her expression.
"Are you all still in this or are you backing out?" Lucas asked, his gaze fixed on the group. They nodded in agreement while a smile appeared on Lucas’s lips.
"Let’s get to work then. We have no time," Lucas declared seriously.
The group then removed the corpse from the body bag and placed the corpse on the floor, ensuring no traces of their presence were left. Lucas then poured gasoline around the house, covering every inch.
"This will make it look like a tragic accident," he whispered.
"Are you sure this is really necessary?" Olive couldn’t shake her fear.
"Yes, it’s the only way to convince Mr. Philip and the police that Henry is dead. We need to create a convincing scenario," Lucas said, unwavering.
Henry took off his blood-stained shirt and wristwatch, dropping them on the floor.
With the house fully doused, the group left and stood before it, somber expressions on their faces. Lucas lit a firelighter and threw it at the house, engulfing it in flames.
"It’s done," Lucas whispered, watching the burning house. "Henry is officially dead."
