Chapter 79: A Risky Scheme

"He’s safe for now," Lucas reassured, with the group nodding in agreement. "But once the search starts, we need to act quickly, as I’m sure Mr. Philip’s men will be looking for him. Time is crucial."

(Everyone should head to the assembly hall now!)

The electronic tone echoed throughout Belmont High School.

"What’s going on? Didn’t we already have an assembly this morning?" Aiden asked, looking frustrated.

" I think the police officers are here. The search for Henry will start soon." Lucas said with a smirk.

"How do we make everyone believe that Henry is dead though?" Mark asked, looking at Lucas. " What’s the plan?"

"I have a plan. Henry is hiding at a house owned by my family, and the airport where he was held captive by those dangerous men is not far from school. I’m sure the police officers would search everywhere. We need to set up something in that area, like Henry’s shirt covered in blood, his shoes, etc. Anything that will make everyone think he’s dead." Lucas stated with a determined expression.

"And what happens after everyone thinks Henry is dead? Remember, Mr. Philip won’t stop until Henry’s body is found." Aiden said with a concerned expression. "That man is dangerous and cunning."

"That’s why we need to bring a body. A body that will make everyone believe Henry is truly dead." Lucas revealed, his expression determined as he looked into the distance.

The temperature in the room abruptly dropped at Lucas revelation.

"A body? You mean a dead body?" Mark asked, his eyes widening in shock and fear. "How are we going to do that? We’re not going to kill anyone, are we?"

"I hope you’re not planning something foolish. Where would we get a dead body from, Lucas?" Olive asked, her expression puzzled.

"The house where Henry is staying belongs to my family. Just a few meters away from that house is a cemetery owned by my family." Lucas explained, a smirk appearing on his face.

Olive’s eyes widened in shock. "You can’t be serious, Lucas! Are you suggesting that we exhume a body from the cemetery and use it as Henry’s?"

Lucas nodded, his expression unwavering. "I know it may seem extreme, but it’s the only way to convince Mr. Philip and the police that Henry is dead. We need to create a convincing scenario, and a body would provide the ultimate proof."

Mark shook his head. "I’m not sure about this, Lucas. This is going too far. We’re talking about disturbing a grave and using a real person’s body as a decoy. It doesn’t sit right with me."

Lucas sighed. "I understand your concerns, but we’re running out of options. Mr. Philip is relentless in his search for Henry, and we must do whatever it takes to keep him safe. This is our best chance."

Aiden massaged his temples. "This is getting complicated. What if the body is recognized? What if the authorities dig deeper?"

Lucas’s expression darkened. "We’ll deal with those challenges as they arise. Right now, our focus should be on executing this plan swiftly. We need to act before Mr. Philip’s men start their search for Henry. And besides, the body is unidentifiable due to the burns."

Furthermore, the deceased boy is of a similar age to Henry. Even if an autopsy is conducted on the body, the facial features are charred, making it impossible to determine if it is Henry’s. Lucas interjected, preempting Olive’s attempt to speak.

"Do you not think that your family would be accused of killing Henry, especially you? Since this body would be found on your family’s property if I’m not mistaken." Aiden chimed in, his expression worried. "Everyone would assume you killed Henry."

" Yes, I know and that’s why I’m doing this. I want everyone to believe that Henry is dead and then think that I killed him." Lucas confirmed with a smile.

"What? Have you lost your mind, Lucas?" Mark exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock as he moved closer to Lucas. His expression soon softened as he knelt down before him, "I know you’re hurting, Lucas, and you want justice for your sister’s death, but you need to consider your own safety."

"I understand that you want everyone to think Henry is dead, but why can’t we carry out this plan away from your family’s property?" Aiden added, looking concerned. " We could do it somewhere far away."

"Please can you all just listen to me? I didn’t come up with this plan lightly. I’ve thought it through." Lucas said, frustration evident in his voice. "Once everyone believes Henry is dead and suspects me of killing him, I’ll seek help from Mr. Philip, threatening to expose his secret if he doesn’t assist me."

"He would likely ask what secret, and I’ll mention that I haven’t listened to the recording Henry gave me because I was still angry at him for being friends with the person who killed my sister. Mr. Philip wouldn’t want me to listen to the recording, fearing the truth would come out, so he would keep me captive." Lucas explained, letting out heavy sighs.

"And?" Olive asked, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.

"He would definitely ask me where the recorder is, and if I told him and he gets it, he’ll definitely play it before me to shatter me. Hence, he’ll want to kill him because he knows I’ll reveal his secrets. His son was able to get away after killing Desmond because his parents aren’t influential, but he wouldn’t be able to escape from my family once they find out that he’s the one who killed my sister. Hence, he’ll want to kill me and end it once and for all," Lucas explained with a scoff.

"Wow! I never thought you were this smart," Mark remarked, his expression filled with surprise mixed with shock. "But I just say, this plan is extremely dangerous."

"I know it’s dangerous and that’s why I need you guys help as only you guys would save me from being killed." Lucas said and heaved a heavy sigh. " The plan is dangerous but with cooperation between us, we’ll definitely come out victorious."

"So, getting the police officers to where you are on time is our own work, or else you might be killed for real," Aiden reasoned with himself, his hand placed on his chin.

"Yes! I urgently need you guys to bring the police officers to the location before Mr. Philip harms me. Once the police arrive, they will apprehend him and he will not be able to escape. Mr. Philip’s intention to harm the future heir of Belmont, along with his involvement in my sister’s death, will ensure that he faces the consequences once the truth is revealed." Lucas confidently stated as he got up from bed and headed to the bar to pour himself a glass of red wine. "He would never be able to escape from the George family." he added before drinking his glass of wine in one goal.

He then poured glasses for Mark, Aiden, and Olive and handed them out.

"I don’t drink alcohol." Olive stated as she received the glass.

"Just a small sip to celebrate our collaboration in bringing down a criminal. It’s not going to do you any harm" Lucas reassured with a smile, raising his glass as Mark, Aiden, and Olive followed suit. "To victory!" Lucas declared as they clinked their glasses together before taking a sip.

The group lapsed into a contemplative silence, each member considering the risks and potential outcomes of Lucas’s plan. They understood the challenges ahead but were determined to protect Henry and ensure that Mr. Philip faced justice.

"Let’s proceed," Olive said quietly. "But we must proceed with caution. We cannot afford any mistakes."

Lucas nodded, determination evident in his eyes. "Let’s do this. For my sister, for Desmond, and for Henry."

"Does Henry know about the plan yet?" Aiden inquired, raising his eyebrows in curiosity.

"No, I’ve been trying to reach him but his phone is still off but it’s good as it’s off. We’ll have to meet him tonight to inform him of the plan and take action before the police arrive," Lucas explained resolutely.

"He can come to my place, no one is there anyway," Aiden suggested. "The police would be searching the house he’s hiding so it’s only right he moved away from there."

"That’s a good idea. Wanted him to go to the George mansion but I guess that’s a very bad idea so going to your house is just the best," Lucas agreed.

"Anyways, since it’s all settled, let’s head to the assembly now," Mark suggested while they nodded in agreement. They then began to exist the 3RM special room, each knowing the risks involved but determined to take down Mr. Philip’s deceitful empire.

As they walked down through the hallway towards the assembly hall , the tension was palpable. They knew the risks but were committed to seeing the plan through. Mark and Aiden exchanged a worried look, aware of the danger Lucas faced.

"We need to ensure the police are in position on time," Mark whispered.

"Sure!" Aiden assured.

Olive looked on with concern. "We’re walking a dangerous path, Lucas," she whispered. " Please be safe."

"I’m willing to take that risk to bring down our enemy," Lucas replied confidently as he and Olive made their way to the assembly hall. "And yes, I’ll be safe."
