Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School -
Chapter 78: The Enemy Within
Chapter 78: The Enemy Within
Clara stormed out of the principal’s office, her face flushed with anger.
"Why wasn’t I warned not to come in when the principal was still here? You all let that rude man insult me. Why is he even here? Shouldn’t he be supporting his son? He doesn’t seem like a father whose son is in trouble."
"I’m sorry miss but no one expected Mr. Philip to return to school after submitting his resignation letter." Mr. James confirmed this with a puzzled expression.
"I’m so angry," Clara exclaimed, her fist tightly clenched but her anger quickly dissipated as the hallway which was devoid of students who were in their classroom receiving lectures was soon filled with students. "Today is a great day," she added with a smile, waving to the students who gossiped about her with love and adoration in their eyes.
"Mr. Philip may appear fine on the outside, but I believe he is struggling internally. I suspect he changed his mind due to persuasion from his wife or other family members," Mr. James remarked, much to Clara’s irritation.
"You’re so naive," Clara replied, rolling her eyes in disdain. She then began to walk away but was stopped midway.
"Miss Clara!" Mark called as he stepped out of the classroom. Clara turned to face him with Aiden standing beside him, both bowing their heads slightly in respect.
"Hey Mark and Aiden. You two are grown," Clara said as she walked up to them and grabbed their cheeks. "You look so handsome too," she added before releasing their cheeks, which Mark and Aiden rubbed to relieve the pressure and pain.
"I didn’t know you were coming to school," Aiden said with a smile, his face flushed pink as he kept his gaze on Clara.
"Oh yes, I was supposed to be the new principal, but Mr. Philip came back, so I’m leaving. It’s fine," Clara confirmed with a smirk. "Mr. Philip has resumed his position as your principal."
"But he had already resigned. He doesn’t have to force himself, especially when one of his sons is behind bars," Mark exclaimed, his voice filled with concern.
Clara let out a scoff. "That man doesn’t seem like he’s upset about anything. In my opinion, he looks lively and happy to be back in his position."
Aiden and Mark exchanged glances before turning their attention back to Clara.
"Sorry about that. Have you met Lucas yet?" Aiden inquired, a smile playing on his lips as his gaze remained fixed on Clara.
"That spoiled brat!" Clara scoffed. "I don’t have the energy to deal with him right now. I’ll handle him later."
"You two are already on bad terms so soon," Mark muttered with a light chuckle, which Clara didn’t hear.
"Anyway, I brought a lot of stuff for you guys. Come over to the George mansion later this evening to pick up all the goodies," Clara said with a smile.
"Really? Thanks, Clara," Mark said, looking pleased. He then glanced at Aiden, who hadn’t expressed his gratitude and was still focused on Clara, his face flushed pink. Mark nudged Aiden, bringing him out of his thoughts.
"Huh?" Aiden asked, looking confused.
"Say thank you," Mark whispered to him, prompting Aiden to quickly show his appreciation.
"It’s okay, boys. See you three tonight," Clara replied before walking out of Belmont High School.

The door to the 3RM special room burst open and Lucas and Mark walked in. They were surprised by the scene before them. Olive was sitting on the couch, her face close to Lucas’, who was lying on the bed. Olive had her hand on Lucas’ forehead, looking concerned.
"Whoa, what’s happening here?" Mark asked, sounding surprised.
Aiden looked at the scene and a mischievous grin appeared on his face. "You guys are gay?" he teased.
Olive looked up, shocked and annoyed. "What are you talking about?" she demanded.
Lucas, still weak from his fever, opened his eyes and addressed his friends. "Don’t talk nonsense, you two," he whispered.
Mark raised his hands defensively. "We just came to tell you about Miss Clara and Mr. Philip’s banter about the principal position, but...we didn’t expect this."
Aiden chuckled. "Yeah, we thought we’d interrupt a study session, not a love fest."
"No wonder you guys didn’t attend class." Mark chimed in with a smirk, his hands crossed over his chest.
Olive’s face turned red with indignation. "This is not what you think it is," she exclaimed. "Lucas is ..
Olive began to say but soon kept shut the moment Lucas hand pressed her hand.
Lucas then shakes his head, which Olive understood that he doesn’t want Mark and Aiden to know about him ill. He then managed to sit up.
"Are you okay?" Aiden asked, his voice etched with concern.
"Sure!" Just a little bit tired from studying. Lucas replied with a smile on his face.
Mark and Aiden exchanged a skeptical look, but they didn’t push the issue further. "Okay, okay, we get it," Mark said. "But seriously, guys, Miss Clara was obviously upset about Mr. Philip coming back to take on the principal position."
Aiden placed a hand on his chin. "I really don’t understand Mr. Philip. Didn’t he already submit his resignation letter? Besides, shouldn’t he be sad? His son is still in prison, yet he still has the energy to want to continue being the principal of this school."
"Henry was right after all. He knew that monster was going to come back." Lucas murmured under his breath.
Aiden quickly closed the door and walked up close to Lucas and Olive, while Mark also did the same, their eyebrows raised in curiosity.
Lucas’ eyes narrowed, and he looked at Olive. "Tell them," he whispered.
Olive nodded and briefed Mark and Aiden on Mr. Philip’s return, Henry’s escape from death, and the revelation that Mr. Philip was the true culprit.
As they absorbed the information, Mark and Aiden’s faces shifted from amusement to shock and worry. "What?! Mr. Philip was behind all of this?"
"Oh damn! I’m going to confront him!" Aiden exclaimed, his face flushed with anger, but Mark quickly restrained him.
"Can you please calm down? Do you think Lucas would remain this composed after finding out the true criminal who killed his sister? There must be a reason for his demeanor." Mark interjected, his tone serious, causing Aiden and the others to shift their focus to Lucas and Olive.
"Henry is aware that Mr. Philip would return to school. Why? Because he wants to ensure Henry is eliminated. Henry now knows all of Mr. Philip’s secrets, and it’s likely he’ll try to kill him before the authorities get involved." Olive disclosed with a heavy sigh.
"Don’t you think he’ll try to evade punishment? He’s already done it once and might do it again. That despicable person!" Aiden cursed, clenching his teeth in frustration.
"That’s why the police have to witness Mr. Philip’s crime firsthand. Even though Henry has recordings of their conversations, we’re not going to use that just yet. It would be better to make Mr. Philip commit a serious offense and be caught in the act." Lucas elaborated. "But first, we need to ensure that everyone believes Henry is dead."
" How is that possible?" Mark questioned, his eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"It’s very possible, Mark. It’s been over twenty-four hours since Henry went missing. Once he doesn’t return to school, a search would begin , and I’m sure Mr. Philip will join in," Lucas explained with a scoff. "Besides killing Henry, Mr. Philip would want to eliminate anyone else who knows his secrets. So, someone has to provoke Mr. Philip."
"What? How? Who?" Aiden asked, looking puzzled.
"Even though my mom helped Mr. Philip free his sons, she doesn’t know that the person she helped was the one who killed her daughter," Lucas said, his eyes filled with anger. "She’ll be shocked to find out that Mr. Philip wants to kill me for knowing his secrets and that he was the one who killed her daughter."
"What? You want to put yourself in danger? No, I can’t accept that. I know this is about your sister, and you want to see the murderer brought to justice, but it’s too risky. Mr. Philip is very dangerous. What if something happens to you?" Olive questioned, her eyes filled with concern as she looked at Lucas.
"I know it’s a risk, but I have to do it," Lucas declared, his resolve evident in his expression. "I owe it to my sister to bring her killer to justice. And I’m not just doing it for her; I’m doing it for Henry too. He’s been through enough already."
Olive let out a sigh, her demeanor softening. "I understand, but we need to approach this strategically. We can’t rush in without a plan."
"I agree," Mark chimed in, his gaze focused. "We need to devise a strategy to ensure Lucas’s safety while also provoking Mr. Philip into action."
Aiden nodded, his determination clear. "Count me in. Together, we’ll take down Mr. Philip and his sons."
The group fell into a contemplative silence, each member deep in thought. They knew the task ahead would be challenging, but they were resolute in their mission to seek justice.
"Where’s Henry? Is he safe?" Mark inquired, his curiosity piqued.
"He’s secure for now," Lucas assured, the group nodding in agreement. "But once the search begins, we need to act swiftly, as I’m certain Mr. Philip’s men will be on the lookout for him. Time is of the essence."
