Chapter 73: The Weight Of Apology.
Olive slowly opened her eyes to the warm sunlight streaming through the window, gently coaxing her awake. She stretched, feeling the softness of her bed and the tranquility of the morning. Her gaze wandered around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings, until it landed on Lucas, seated on his bed.
Lucas sat in a lotus position, his eyes closed, exuding an aura of peace. The morning light highlighted his chiseled features, resembling a Greek god sculpture. His rose tattoos on his neck and chest giving the bag boy vibe. His chest rose and fell with slow, deep breaths, savoring the stillness of the moment.
The room was bathed in a soft, golden glow, filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. The sound of birds chirping outside created a gentle melody, enhancing the sense of calm.
Olive felt wonder wash over her as she observed Lucas, his peacefulness infectious. She remained still, not wanting to disturb the tranquility of the moment.
As she gazed at Lucas, she noticed the gentle curve of his lips, the softness of his eyelashes, and the quiet strength of his presence. For a moment, she forgot about the mysteries and dangers surrounding them, focusing only on the beauty of the peaceful morning shared with this enigmatic boy.
Olive’s curiosity led her to softly whisper, "Lucas?"
Lucas slowly opened his eyes and greeted Olive with a calm, gentle smile. "Good morning," he said in a soothing voice.
As Olive sat up, she kept her eyes fixed on Lucas. "What are you doing?" she inquired in a hushed tone.
Lucas unfolded his legs from the lotus position and stretched gracefully. "Meditating," he explained, maintaining eye contact with Olive. "It helps me clear my mind and focus my thoughts."
Olive raised an eyebrow. "At 6 am?"
Lucas chuckled softly. "I couldn’t sleep. I had a lot on my mind."
Intrigued, Olive probed further. "What were you thinking about?"
Lucas’s demeanor shifted, and he leaned in, his gaze intense. "I was contemplating about us, our situation and how to ensure your safety."
Olive’s frustration grew as she thought to herself, "What the heck has gotten over him? If only he hadn’t discovered my true gender, he wouldn’t be acting like this. I can’t stand this new behavior of his."
Lucas noticed Olive’s distracted state and asked, "Is something on your mind? You seem distant." He had been observing her for a while before finally addressing
her apparent unease.
Olive’s mind was filled with questions, but before she could voice any of them, Lucas got up and stretched. "I’m famished. Let’s grab some breakfast." He purposely did that knowing that Olive would start a drama concerning his words about contemplating her safety.
"I didn’t set an alarm because of you. I was supposed to wake up at 4 am." Olive complained as she heard other students moving in the hallway, signaling that it was time to get up. "How am I supposed to shower now?"
"Why not shower in the 3RM?" Lucas suggested, a playful grin on his face.
"Yes! He mentioned that he couldn’t sleep, which is why he was meditating instead. Despite the fact that he could have woken me up, he chose not to because he already had a plan in mind. He wanted me to have my bath at the 3RM." Olive thought to herself, her visible anger reflected on her face. "Such a crazy jerk."
"What’s wrong? Did I say something offensive? I was just trying to suggest a solution," Lucas said, swallowing nervously as he observed Olive’s furious expression, which resembled that of an angry lion. "You don’t have to bath there if you don’t want to."
’I don’t really have a choice if I want to take a bath. It’s probably best to go along with him,’ Olive thought to herself. ’But if he tries anything inappropriate, I’ll make sure I cut that hotdog he calls a dick. I’ll castrate him."
With a smile, Olive’s angry demeanor softened into a more composed expression. "Yes, I’ll go ahead and have my bath at the 3RM. But what about Mark and Aiden?"
"I’ll ask them to leave. They might have already finished bathing and left," Lucas replied, smiling.
"Alright, let’s not waste any time or we’ll be late for class and breakfast," Olive said, pulling out a small knife hidden beside her bed and discreetly tucking it into her school uniform. "I’m ready to go!" she announced, turning to face Lucas, who nodded in agreement. Together, they left the dormitory.
As they made their way to the 3RM, the hallway was filled with students bustling about, preparing for the day ahead. Lucas and Olive smoothly navigated through the crowd, moving in sync.
Upon reaching the 3RM, Lucas knocked on the door, and Mark’s voice called out, "Come in!" They entered the room to find
Mark and Aiden already dressed in their school uniforms, ready to leave.
"Good morning. What’s up?" Aiden was the first to inquire.
"Hey Lucas, hey Arthur!" Mark greeted with a smile and continue to comb his hair.
"We’re here to take our bath," Lucas promptly replied.
"Both of you? Why didn’t you both use the men’s bathroom? Are you both having a bath together ?" Aiden asked, his eyebrows raised in a mix of shock and curiosity. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Lucas and Arthur might be gay and about to engage in some intimate acts. "Is there something you’re not telling me and Mark?"
Lucas could only stare, at a loss for words. "Like what?" he finally managed to ask, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What is going on in that mind of yours."
"We’re running late, Aiden. We still need to stop at your house to get some things. The sooner we leave now, the sooner we’ll get back to school," Mark chimed in, showing his lack of interest in the situation between Olive and Lucas.
"Oh yes! See you both later," Aiden said, his attention focused on Lucas and Olive. "You’ll update me when I return," he whispered with a light chuckle.
"We’ll catch up with you guys later," Mark said as he grabbed his bag, followed by Aiden, and they left.
Lucas locked the door behind them and turned to Olive. "You can take your bath now," he said, keeping his eyes on her.
Olive’s grip on the knife hidden in her uniform tightened, her senses on high alert. She didn’t trust Lucas, but she had no choice. She needed to bathe, and this was her only option.
"Thanks," she said neutrally as she headed to the bathroom.
After locking the door behind her, her heart raced with anticipation. She quickly undressed and stepped into the shower, feeling the warm water wash over her.
As she started to relax, a knock on the door startled her. She spun around, knife at the ready.
"Lucas? What’s the issue?" Olive demanded firmly, the knife glinting in the light.
Lucas, looking calm, said, "I just wanted to bring you a towel," his voice soothing and low.
"Leave it on the chair. I’ll grab it," she replied firmly, knife still in hand.
"Okay! I’m going out for a bit. Give me a call when you’re done dressing so I can take my bath too," Lucas said from outside the bathroom.
"Sure! Thanks!" Olive replied, letting out a sigh of relief when she heard Lucas’s footsteps receding and the door closing with a loud bang, indicating he had left the room.

Meanwhile, Lucas felt the need to apologize to Henry. Despite discontinuing the red card system, he acknowledged that he had caused Henry much pain in the past.
The red card system started just after Desmond was taken to prison. The red card came out to teach the scholarship students a lesson especially Henry who was Desmond best friend . This fueled Henry’s animosity towards Lucas and the 3RM members.
Tragically, Desmond met his demise at the hands of Lucas’ friend, a consequence that could have been prevented if the red card system had been stopped earlier.
Lucas understood the depth of Henry’s hurt and the difficulty of earning his forgiveness. Nevertheless, he was determined to make amends and offer an apology.
With resolve, Lucas approached Henry’s dorm and knocked on the wooden door. A red-haired individual answered, his expression shifting from jovial to somber upon seeing Lucas. Despite the cancellation of the red card system, the scholarship students harbored lingering fear.
"Is Henry here?" Lucas inquired with a friendly smile, attempting to reassure the apprehensive individual.
"H...h..he..." the red-haired boy stammered, visibly nervous.
Lucas calmed him down, emphasizing his sincerity in abolishing the red card system and expressing remorse for his past behavior. However, the red-haired boy remained wary.
"He hasn’t been back since yesterday," the boy finally disclosed.
"Did he mention where he was going?" Lucas probed further.
"No," the boy replied before abruptly closing the door, leaving Lucas puzzled.
Concerned for Henry, Lucas pondered his sudden absence and wondered where he could be.
