Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School -
Chapter 49: The Feud Continues
Chapter 49: The Feud Continues
"I’ll reiterate. Anyone who harmed Desmond would face consequences," Mr. Philip stated. "I’ll let the recent incidents slide since I haven’t given a warning before, but if the behavior continues, there will be consequences." He added before leaving the classroom.
"Lucas!" Olive called out, trying to get his attention, but he was focused on Desmond in front of him, his eyes filled with anger.
Turning to Mark, Olive asked, "Are you going to ignore me too?"
"Of course not but can I give you an advice? I suggest staying out of the Lucas and Desmond situation to avoid getting hurt," Mark replied, arms crossed.
"He can jump in if he wants, but he’ll regret it. He’s on a scholarship, after all," Thomas remarked with a disdainful eye roll.
"Listen to Mark’s advice dickhead," Samson advised, but Olive brushed him off with an eye roll.
Olive sighed heavily, her gaze shifting from Lucas to her textbooks.
The math class led by the teacher ended, and Olive headed to her locker to grab her books for the next class.
"Hi! Henry greeted as he approached her, expressing concern. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yes, just worried about Lucas," Olive replied with a heavy sigh. "I haven’t seen him this angry before, but I understand it’s because of Desmond."
"Lucas and Desmond were actually good friends before," Mark revealed.
"Huh? They were friends before?" Olive raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Yeah, Desmond was even part of the RM, even though he was a scholarship student. The 3RM was known as the 4RM before. But when Desmond and Lucas’s sister, Olivia, started to date, things began to fall apart because Lucas wasn’t in support of it," Henry further explained, shocking Olive.
"It’s like he knew something like this was going to happen, which is why he didn’t support Desmond and his sister having a romantic relationship," Olive chimed in.
"Desmond didn’t ask Olivia to abort the baby. I knew this because I was Desmond’s best friend. Desmond wanted to take care of the baby no matter what, but Lucas’s sister didn’t agree. She said her mother would never accept a guy like Desmond, and besides, she didn’t want to stop school because of the baby," Henry recounted.
"Olivia went ahead and had the abortion, only to keep bleeding nonstop until we found out that it was a quack doctor she went to because she didn’t want to use their family doctor. But it was too late by the time we found out," Olive thought to herself, her eyes teary as she listened to Henry.
"I’ve always been bullied since the incident. Since I’m Desmond’s friend, Lucas doesn’t spare any time to bully me until you came around and it stopped," Henry explained sadly.
"I noticed Lucas bullying you on my first day at Belmont too," Olive said.
"Yeah, there’s not a single day that passes without me getting bullied. I knew I was being punished for Desmond’s mistake, since he was in prison and I was still in school, which made me always a target for Lucas’s bullying," Henry sighed heavily.
"I’m so sorry about that," Olive said, her expression softening.
"There’s nothing to be sorry about, but I’ll only advise you not to fight with Lucas, or you might receive another red card from him. Just leave Desmond alone; he’ll be fine on his own. Involving yourself with him would only bring you harm," Henry warned, his voice serious.
Desmond, with his head bandaged, approached Olive and Henry. "Hi Henry, can I please talk to you?" he asked, struggling to speak.
"I’m sorry, but no," Henry replied firmly.
Desmond knew it was because Lucas had forbidden anyone to speak to him. "But just for a moment, please. You’re the only one I can talk to," he pleaded with a desperate look in his eyes. "You’re my best friend, after all."
Henry’s expression softened as he gazed at the pleading Desmond. He couldn’t bear to see his best friend in such a state.
"I’ll see you later, Olive," Henry said, and Olive nodded sadly as she watched them leave the school building.
________
In a living room with plush, cream-colored sofas and armchairs upholstered in the finest velvet, arranged around a roaring fireplace where flames danced and crackled on chilly evenings. The walls, painted a rich, dark gray, served as a backdrop for an impressive collection of art, including works by masters like Picasso and Van Gogh.
A grand piano, polished to a high sheen, stood in one corner, while a bar stocked with the finest spirits and wines beckoned from another. The air was thick with the scent of old leather, fine wood, and a hint of cigar smoke.
Mark, Aiden, Samson, and Thomas sat at the wine bar, drinking alcohol in silence.
Lucas, with eyes burning with rage and visible veins on his forehead, sat on the sofa, his fist tightly clenched.
"Calmdown, Lucas," Mark said, breaking the silence as he sat before Lucas with a worried expression.
"It’s not worth stressing yourself over that lowlife. There are plenty of ways to deal with him as long as he’s still in this school," Samson added, puffing out smoke from the cigar in his hand.
"What courage?! He really dared to show his face again in this school. It’s like he’s asking us to kill him," Aiden scoffed.
A guy with short, curly black hair entered the room.
"What’s wrong?" Samson asked as his gaze fell on the guy.
The guy approached Samson and showed him a video on his phone. He then showed it to Lucas, whose anger intensified. He grabbed the phone and threw it against the wall, shattering it into pieces.
"Relax, man! What’s the matter?" Mark asked, looking puzzled.
"My phone. I just bought it." The guy with short hair exclaimed as he picked up the phone with a cracked screen and ink stains.
"Send me your account details on WhatsApp. I’ll send you money to get a new phone." Samson offered, prompting the guy with short hair to nod before leaving the living room.
"Can you please explain what’s happening? What did you see in the video that made you so angry?"Aiden asked, raising his eyebrows in curiosity as he waited for Lucas to respond.
Lucas stood up from the chair and walked over to the wine bar, pouring himself a glass of wine and downing it in one go.
His eyes were red with anger, his fists clenched tightly, his nostrils flared, and he finally said, "I gave him a chance to prove he’s different, but it turns out he’s the same."
