Chapter 50: Red Card Returns

The following day came quickly with the bright sun shining over everything on earth. The chirping of birds woke Olive from her deep slumber. It was another day at Belmont.

Olive sat up in bed, her eyes moving to Lucas’s bed, but he was not there.

"Just what the heck is wrong with him? Is he really angry just because I adviced him."Olive murmured to herself with a dejected face. "That dickhead!"

She had left the dorm room door open last night, hoping that Lucas would show up, but he never did.

She got off bed, laid the bed with a new bedspread and wore new pillowcase for the pillows. She proceeded to sweep the dorm and arranged her reading table after which she headed to the bathroom to take a bath before the other students woke up.

She quickly finished her bath and soon headed back to the dorm to change into her school uniform.

Just as she was entering the dorm, the sounds of other students chatting and walking around was soon heard indicating that everyone was awake.

Thank goodness! She heaved a heavy sigh as she quickly got dressed into her school uniform.

After applying the last spray of perfume and styling her hair into a bun, Olive soon left the room and joined the other students in the hallway as she made her way to her locker to pick up her books for the day.

"Hey, Olive!" Henry greeted her with a smile. "I’m sorry I didn’t come back yesterday after leaving with Desmond. You know he’s my best friend, we had a lot to catch up on."

"It’s okay, I understand," Olive replied, raising an eyebrow as she reached her locker. "How is he feeling now? He was terribly injured yesterday."

"He’s doing better now, he received treatment from the school clinic," Henry reassured her.

"That’s good to hear," Olive said, smiling. "Lucas didn’t come back to the dorm last night, he’s still upset with me for intervening in the fight between him and Desmond."

"Just forget about him. I don’t know why you’re stressing yourself over him. He’ll be fine, he has members of the 3RM as well as the Philip twins with him. Henry said, with a heavy sigh.

"That’s true though. Just worried about him." Olive uttered and was about turning her gaze from Henry to her locker when..

Her eyes soon landed on the other students who stood beside their lockers, some looking down from the stairs, their gazes directly fixed on Olive. The once bustling hallway filled with students’ laughter and chatter had turned eerily quiet.

"What’s wrong with them?" Olive asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I don’t know. They’re all staring at us. Wonder why?" Henry replied, his voice also barely above a whisper. "Just ignore them."

"Sure!" Olive replied as she swallowed hard.

" Class would be starting soon. We better hurry." Henry said, his voice carrying a matter of urgency. "I haven’t done my mathematics assignment. I better do it before Mr James gets to class."

Henry then proceeded to open his locker and took out his books, putting them in his bag.

Olive followed suit inserting the key into her locker knob to unlock it. Opening it, a red card fell from her locker. She then bent down to pick it. It was a red card from the 3RM.

"The red card had reappeared once again..."

"We’re finally going to have some fun."

The hallway, which was silent before, quickly regained its noisy atmosphere as the students celebrated among themselves.

"Why do I get a red card? It’s Lucas. He gave me a red card just because I didn’t support him yesterday," Olive said, her voice filled with anger.

"You’re in trouble, dude. I thought there wouldn’t be any more red cards since you got here, but another one appeared. That’s why I told you not to get on Lucas’s bad side. You shouldn’t have intervened in his fight with Desmond," Henry exclaimed, frustration evident on his face.

"Lucas is such a jerk!" Olive yelled as she ripped the red paper from her locker, tore it into pieces, and selected the books she needed before locking her locker. "I’m not going to give in to his bullying this time."

"I’m with you. We’re friends now, and friends should look out for each other," Henry said with a smile that warmed Olive’s heart.

"Thanks, Henry!" Olive said, and they both headed to their classroom.

As soon as Olive and Henry entered the classroom, they were met with the intense gazes of the students.

Olive swallowed hard, feeling their stares burning into her skin. She noticed that Lucas, Mark, Aiden, Samson, and Thomas were absent from the classroom.

"Yo! Yo! Yo! Look who’s here. The 3RM offender," a chubby guy with black hair was the first to speak as he approached Olive and Henry at the door. He was the leader of the bullies who had targeted Olive before.

"You’ve got another red card. What unfortunate luck you have there," the chubby guy continued, grabbing Olive by her collar.

"Let go of him this minute!" Henry yelled, stepping forward with anger in his voice.

"You didn’t get a red card, but it seems like you want to help your friend receive his punishment," the chubby guy said with a smirk, looking at Henry while still holding onto Olive’s collar. "You should consider yourself lucky that only one scholarship student received a red card, taking the punishment on behalf of all of you."

"Back off, you fool," a member of the bullies shouted, landing a heavy punch on Henry’s face, causing him to fall to the ground with a bleeding nose.

"If you’re looking for a beating, I can have my gang deal with you. But as for your friend here..." the chubby guy started to say, pausing as he looked at Olive with a smirk. "There’s a special punishment waiting for him."

The chubby guy then led Olive out of the classroom, followed by his gang.
